[He lets his hand slide down Crys' arm, away from the injury, but he doesn't break contact; he just settles on holding her hand with both of his own instead. Crys isn't a ~delicate doll~, but gentle touch or not he doesn't want to risk making the injury worse.]

[Oh. Hand holding. That's... not something she wants right now. She tries very slowly to bring her hand away without being rude or hurting herself.]

[Though, she probably doesn't look like she's gotten any rest, and the way her Pokemon are trying to comfort her, it's definitely not good.]

[Eusine may be a fool most of the time, but he's perceptive enough to notice all those little details. The shying away from hand holding, how worried Crys' Pokémon look...
He lets her hand go, but doesn't last long before putting his hand on her shoulder (uninjured arm side). Here's hoping this doesn't make Crys feel ill at ease, because physical contact is something he needs in this situation. Else he would just end up fidgeting with his hands and feeling generally anxious, and you simply can't have that when you're trying to be the one comforting people.
And hey, it works. When he next opens his mouth, he seems to have calmed down a bit. He even manages to give Crys a smirk, albeit a somewhat forced one.]

[She winces a little from guilt, and just lets out a sigh.] The... the shifter put me in this sort of "dream". In it, i-it was like everything I wanted to happen did. I completed the Pokedex and everything. But Gold was in it, a-and the shifter took his appearance.

[Kindly ignore the tears welling up in her eyes.] I-I thought he was my boyfriend. And I don't even know why. It's just really confusing and hard.

[Do you mind at all if she just leaves the rest out? Because she will.]

[Gold? Boyfriend? Right now, he's as confused as she is.
... Well, maybe not exactly as confused, if his intuition is correct; surprised she'd take interest in such a loud-mouthed brat, maybe. But he'll refrain from talking about how harsh and mysterious budding love can be. For now.

Instead, he'll take out his Suicune-crest embroidered handkerchief from inside his jacket and hand it to Crys. As expected from Eusine, it's perfectly clean and smells faintly of cologne.]

[He's not sure what to say, actually. As good as he may be at distracting crying children with a magic trick, comforting friends isn't exactly something he often has to do. He just... doesn't have enough close friends for that. Not that he'll ever admit it to anyone (himself included).

He's kind of expecting Crys to expand on that, even keeping his arms open enough should she literally need a shoulder to cry on. He may be unused to this, but Crys is in need of comforting. If she needs someone to be her emotional support? You can bet he'll do his best to be that person.
What kind of entertainer would be be, if he let someone despair under his watch!]

[She's not really surprised by the handkerchief, but takes it nonetheless. Drying her tears, she decides to rest her head on Eusine's shoulder. Today has just been terrible and she wants to go home.]

It hurt and I can't figure out why. [She just stands there, quietly crying in his shoulder.]

[That small smile is enough to make him feel considerably more cheerful. Crys is obviously still feeling pretty bad, but smiles are always better than tears!]
