I've been chillin' out on a star with my 5 star view

Who: All draftees
What: The space battle commences
When: After 3PM on the 19th to the 23rd
Where: In Space! On the Moon!
Summary: The battle finally begins! First there's asteroids to take down, then we finally arrive!
Rating: SPACE

MORE SPACE

All the details you need are here, so read up on it. This didn't get mentioned before, but you can tag the cultists instead of killing them. Details on this are on a previous draft post. Using the scanners are optional!

There will be a thread for interacting with NPCs, but they may not all go up at once, so keep an eye out for them.

Note: A log for the events in the village will go up on the 21st, in time for the hurricane and droid incursion.

Ha ha. [He knows like. One Johnny Cash song. At least he thinks it's a Johnny Cash song. The name is familiar enough that it sounds like it ought to go with the tune that came to mind. The idea of singing a spell, though...

...Well, why the hell not? he's never tried this before. Might shake things up a bit.]

I - fell - into - a burning- beonfirebeonfire - I went down, down, down, and the- flamegohigherflamegohigher - and it- burnburnburnEXPLODE - the ring of fire--

[It's shaky at first, but as he casts, it actually seems to accomplish something, shockingly. Out the window, blue flames tear through space, surrounding a few of the cultist asteroids and tearing them apart.

...Cool.]
kineticcajun: (You're kinda funny)

[personal profile] kineticcajun 2012-06-26 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Gambit isn't sure if he wants to laugh in triumph for getting him to actually sing, or if he just wants to give a low whistle of appreciation for the effectiveness of the spell. He settles on shaking his head and grinning like Christmas came early.]

See? Confidence boost. What'd I tell you, homme?

[Why anybody listens to anything he says is beyond him, but that just makes everything that much more fun.]
selfhelp: ([billy] oh yeah. I am so cool.)

this was requested and I could not possibly deny it

[personal profile] selfhelp 2012-06-27 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
I honestly didn't think that would actually work.

[Billy steps up closer to the window, peering out at the results of his spell for a moment. Well. If that's how song-spells are going to work, he's practically obligated to try again.]

Man, wait till Teddy hears about this one... hang on, this'll be a big one.

[Closing his eyes, his lips curving into a small smirk, he can't help but tap his foot against the floor for this one.]

I feel stormy wheather moving in, about to begin, hear the thunderthunderthunderThundercatsholightningbolt- [Blue lightning pierces the sky again, working its way around another group of cultists and gathering them together.] Don't you lose your head, ripitoffripitoff the roof and stay in bed- [Suddenly the cultists are yanked unceremoniously off of their asteroid... ship things.

And the finale?]

It'srainingmenit'srainingmenit'srainingmen hallelujah-

[...And down they go, drifting off into empty space. They'll probably recover at some point, but at least they'll be away from their transport for a while.]
kineticcajun: (Saaay now.)

This is the most amazing thread, okay.

[personal profile] kineticcajun 2012-06-28 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Alright, the respect over the sheer power of that spell is completely lost, not by the fact that the boy is singing It's Raining Men, but by the Thundercats reference. Gambit isn't going to dwell on the harmonics of why that's the part that stood out. He'd never get anywhere if he wondered about why his mind sticks on the things that it does.]

...Did you do the Thundercats t'ing in there or was I jus' imaginin' that?
selfhelp: ([wiccan] milady of asgard~?)

it's beautiful and nothing hurts

[personal profile] selfhelp 2012-06-28 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Billy feels briefly sheepish, but the feeling of being called out on his geekery fades when he realizes, hey, he was called out on his geekery accurately. Which makes the geekery totally even.]

You can't say "thunder, thunder, thunder" without quoting Thundercats. It's practically a law.
kineticcajun: (Why do I put up wit' you? [c])

[personal profile] kineticcajun 2012-06-30 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
["Practically a law." Somehow, Gambit manages not to laugh, but he does grin and shake his head.]

You really are a fanboy, ain't you.
selfhelp: ([wiccan] what? it's cool!)

[personal profile] selfhelp 2012-07-03 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Okay, he's gotta grin at that one.]

Guilty as charged.

[HE'S NOT EVEN SORRY.]
