I've been chillin' out on a star with my 5 star view

There will be a thread for interacting with NPCs, but they may not all go up at once, so keep an eye out for them.

Note: A log for the events in the village will go up on the 21st, in time for the hurricane and droid incursion.

[She's shaking so hard. Mia holds her tighter, keeping her voice quiet.]

It's all right. I won't tell anyone.

[And that just seals the deal. Norma squeezes her eyes shut tight as every wall, every barrier, ever mask she made for the moment crumbles away. She gasps, and her shoulders sag as a whimper escape her tightly pursed lips, followed by a sob, and breathy gasps. Stupid, stupid...that stinking, stupid, idiotic--! If he wasn't dead and gone already, she'd pummel him to death herself! Why'd he have to go and...a-and--]

I killed him. [Tears leak from her eyes, and Norma holds a hand to her mouth.] That crummy jerk still looked like him when I... I-I had to--I was so mad that I just...!

[Of course, she had to kill him in order to get away. Holding her as she is, Mia rubs her arm instead of her back, letting her cry and explain herself for a while.

She won't say anything at all until Norma seems like she's managing to calm down a little on her own.]

No master who cared for you would want to see you accept a mockery of him.

[Sniffling, Norma rubs at her face, though her tears don't exactly stop. She's become calmer, no longer sobbing, but tears are still dripping from her face. Despite that, she chokes out a hoarse laugh, her smile crooked and weak. It's become so ingrained into her personality now that just smiling and brushing things aside came so commonly. He taught her that - just smile and be happy, even when things look bad, just smile and be happy. And keep going.]

H-He'd probably...laugh at me right now, s-seeing me blu-blubber like this! Heh...that g-goofball! [She sniffs again, her laugh becoming another choked little sob.]

Do you really think so?

[Maybe that's true. Mia didn't know the man, maybe he was the sort to laugh when others cried. ...Though. "Goofball."]

Then he would prefer you were happy?

[That makes a lot more sense. Someone else starts heading toward them as though to help with the situation and the not now look Mia shoots his way sends him scurrying to do other things.]

Y-Yeah... That moron never took anything seriously, or so it seemed. He was real smart, and worked real hard, too. I mean, he taught me everything I know, and then some. I doubt I'd be anywhere without what I learned from Sven. ...Idiot.

[She misses him. She misses him so much. He taught her everything, he changed her entire look on life! Sven was the person that shaped Norma into being who she really and truly is now and today! Without him existing in her life, she'd never have gotten anywhere. She'd be living the same day in and day out life as any other normal person. Without him, she'd have never had the resolve to chase any of her dreams - and succeed at the most important one.]

I owe him a lot.

To have taught you everything, he must have been someone amazing, Norma.

[The next person who comes over to inquire about their wellness will get Mia's very clipped voice requesting both hot tea and cold water. It's a clear 'go away' message.]

...And the enemy soldier...made you kill him?

[Someone amazing...yeah, kinda. He was something else, that's for sure. Funny, smart, but also stupid and aggravating at the same time. Sven really wasn't your average, run of the mill scholar - he was an adventure seeker, and taught Norma to be as well. Value to journey, not the destination.

She exhales slowly, holding onto her happiness before she has to answer the more somber question. It still hurts to talk about, the image so vivid in her mind. clear as if she were there again.]

Nah, not...really. I mean, the guy changed so he looked just like Sven. He looked and sounded just like him, so I...I couldn't attack him, I just couldn't at first. But he sure hit me pretty hard, a...few times... [She still couldn't believe it, and sighs again, as she continues.] But G-Girl didn't get tricked like I did, and she hit him with a spell. It--that broke the illusion, I guess...and I saw that joker for what he really was.

...It made me mad. Real mad. I was seeing red for a real, real long time. I don;t think I've ever been that mad before. So...s-so I used my sacred eres--uh, a realllllyy strong spell. And I...he was still Sven, when I used it.

[Mmm. It all makes sense now, for the most part - her exhaustion, and her sadness, and why it affected her so strongly.

Mia doesn't say anything else, having nothing to say that she thinks will help. She hasn't let go of Norma, and starts rubbing her arm again once her story is through. After thanking her runner for the water and the tea, if Norma doesn't begin the conversation again, she'll start to hum something quietly.]

[No, Norma says no more. There's really nothing more to say, anyway. She's explained it all, and she feels a mixture of relief and anguish. It was still hard to even have to deal with something like that, as well as the injuries she was dealt. Norma doesn't want to talk anymore about the things that happened only so many hours ago.

So, she lets Mia hold onto her, and leans heavily onto the girl, hugging her back after a while. Norma does wish Grune was around, if only for the companionship of someone she knew personally, but Mia was doing wonders. Norma was at least feeling a bit more relaxed and comfortable.]

[The moment Mia sees Grune again she'll send her this way. Until then, though.]

You can have the water or the tea if you want it. I know it isn't much.

[Really. Norma's extremely thankful for all the help Mia's done for her in the past few moments alone. Taking the mug isn't as hard as it is nor Norma to just sit up. She winces, and squeezes her eyes shut at the pain, but takes a sip. The tea definitely helps relax her muscles a little, and it tastes pretty darn good, too. She won't finish it, but she will at east polish off a little more than half the mug.]

You're still in pain, aren't you? [The tea will help, especially if she relaxes. Mia helps her put the mug aside when she's done.] There's medicine you can take if the tea stays down.

[There's stuff to take if she can't keep it down, too, but Norma won't like how she has to take it.]

Uh...j-just a little. When I move around too much. N'my head hurts, too, real bad when I move it.

[Move it too much, at least, or too fast. Other than that, Norma's not too injured, she's just exhausted and sore all over. Her head injury is the worst wound she's actually sustained, and even that was relatively minor.

Though the medicine is a bit intriguing...and worrying.] I think I can hold this all down, but...what kinda medicine have you got?

We'll see. [Surprise throwing up is the worst kind.] It would numb your pain enough to let you sleep for a while.

[Well, that actually sounds pretty awesome. Pain relief and sleep on top of it all would be amazing. So long as it's a dreamless sleep, Norma's not sure if she can handle recollections of what happened during battle.]

Okay, I'll try it. Just so long as you know knock me out for real. I've...had enough of that for today.

Oh, I would never. But you will have to wait a short while so we can be sure you aren't going to be sick.

Oooh....okay, fine. [Sigh. At least it'll give Norma an opportunity to rest her head for a little bit. Which she actually slides back down to do, snuggling up as much as she can without causing much pain.]

Do you need anything else? Another blanket? [Mia helps her get as comfortable as she can be, taking extra care that she's not lying in a way that might make her headache worse.]

Mm-mm, I think I'm all set for now. [Mimi, you're a good kid, but you have to stop worrying a little. Or not work so hard or...something. Norma settles into her bed and closes her eyes. It won't take too long until she's asleep, and actually stays asleep for some time.]
