[She's quick to nod and reassure.]

I'm fine, just tired of all this.

...I can try to Teleport us home.

[Emphasis on 'try' because she's not sure her usually reliable magic will be so, right now. But Kain needs to get home and de-paint, so.]

[Kain nods moodily. He's willing to at least attempt it, even if it might not work how they think it will. Going places seems pretty much impossible right now.]

[Rydia nods and casts Teleport...only it doesn't take them home at all. Instead, they appear just above the river -or what should be the river- and Rydia plummets below with a shriek.]

...THEN IT SHALL BE CHEESE SAUCE, JUST BECAUSE!

[Ugh, just great. As they go plummeting downward, Kain notices something amiss with the water. He can't see the deep yellow color, but he can see that the texture is all off. And it smells weird. He surfaces, treading in the stuff, looking around for Rydia.]

[Rydia surfaces after a moment, sputtering.]

What the...cheese?!?

[Kain gives a resigned nod. Yeeeeah, unfortunately. It's cheese. He tries to tread cheese, though it takes a bit more effort than staying above water.]

[Ugh. So gross.

Rydia tries to make for land, knowing Kain will do the same, but it's harder than she thought and she sinks back into it more than once.]

[It's tough going, but Kain kicks hard and manages to eventually reach the edge of the cheese river. It's definitely a lot heavier than the air that he prefers to soar through. He hauls himself out and turns to help Rydia if needed.]

[It's needed. Rydia clings to his arm to prevent herself from sinking into the cheese sauce again, then flops onto the shore, taking in great gulps of air.]

Disgusting....

[Ugh, very, and Kain nods agreement. He wants to suggest a shower to clean off, but he's a but afraid of what'll happen this time.]

[Rydia looks at him, the shakes her head. No, she's not going to suggest staying like this.]

Kain, we have to try...unless you want to be covered in cheese all day.

[Kain sighs heavily, but he looks resigned that yes, they have to try.]

[She moves to stand, though slips a few times in the process.]

C'mon, let's...there has to be an empty place we can use.

[Why mess up their house if they don't have to?]

[Ah, he has the smartest wife. Kain nods, he's very willing to try... maybe they'll have better luck elsewhere.]

[Not that it's smooth sailing all the way. Tree-gossip gets Rydia's attention, especially when she hears about Kain's poledancing.]

...what on earth....

[She knows better than to believe the trees, but where did THAT come from?]

[Kain also looks very much shocked. The way the tree had said it, it sounded authentic. He begins to frantically shake his head. How even... Why even...]

Kain, I know--

[She narrows her eyes at the trees.]

Shut up! I don't want to hear your stupid gossip.

[dragoon_pride]

[Rydia might know he has no poledancing habits, but what if other people hear this nonsense!? Kain stares angrily at the tree, as if his glare could threaten it. He would so be spearing it through if his weapon was on him. How dare it!]

[Rydia sighs, reaching for his arm to tug him along. Even if they're both still slippery from cheese sauce, ugh.]

They're probably lying about everyone, Kain. Come, we don't have time for this.

[Just lies... he's sure... Kain moves along at her tugging, but of course that's when another tree speaks up. This time it's to comment about Kain's wife dressing him.]

[WAIT BUT THAT'S COMPLETELY TRUE! He doesn't need the world knowing about that!]

[Siiiiigh.]

All the more reason to go and fix that, isn't it? Look, this is already starting to smell horrible. We can deal with the trees later.

[Kain looks extremely displeased, but he grudgingly nods. Stupid trees.]

[Keeping her hand on his arm, she makes her way to the nearest community building, opening all the doors until she finds an empty place. Ushering him in, she makes a beeline for the bathroom.]

Time to test this....

[No, she doesn't sound eager...but nor does she want to remain covered in cheese sauce.]

[Kain goes along with her, just as skeptical about this. Good thing he doesn't actually... have anything to strip off, since he'd been attempting showering before this.]

[She strips and steps into the shower, apprehensive but desperate. Then she turns the knob...and relaxes. It's normal water, at least at first. Though after a moment, bubbles start coming out of the faucet....]
