Player Event - Chaos Plot

Who: Helios and pretty much everyone who replied to this post
What: The demon god Apep which affixed itself to Helios’ soul has awoken.
When: August 6th-9th
Where: Starting around house 44 then mainly around town and the woods
Summary: Basically Helios gets possessed and causes all sorts of chaos and destruction that the evil god, Apep, is known for causing!
Rating: R for lots of violence



[ It’s strange how the twist of events of a simple evening walk could change much of everything. In an instant, that was Luceti’s way of things, changing things in an instant. And Helios never even saw it coming. There were still parts of that night and parts of his soul that he never truly understood. But there were always ways of finding out. They say hands on experience is one of the best ways of learning. And this is a lesson he and several others won't soon forget. ]

Thank you. I borrowed it from someone. [Constantly playing in the background of Vash's echoes, that one. Katie eyes him for a moment, and then she smiles. He sort of reminds her of a school teacher.]

Do your parents know you're out this late?

[folklorist]

Ah. My parents... [ He looks a bit...taken aback at that question. And then he'll just smile and laugh a little. Ah, yes, children will be children won't they? Still it's a bit concerning that she's out here by herself so he'll response with a touch of worry in his voice. ] I-I should be asking you that. It's a bit late out to be wandering around alone like this.

[ Helios' concern grows a little as he looks Katie over. ]

Oh, I'm not alone. [She points towards Seventh Heaven with an easy smile.] I'm waiting for my dad to finish work. It's okay, isn't it? I should only be wary of strangers, after all.

[folklorist]

[ Helios follows her pointing and smiles. ] Yes of course, perfectly fine. As long as you're not alone. [ And that gets a slightl nod of approval. Wary of strangers indeed. Especially where Luceti is concerned. ] It's busy enough as it is here so, yes, being wary of strangers in such a place is a very good idea.

[ Though Helios hardly thinks anything of it at the moment. Though she seems familiar. Probably a student at the school no doubt. ]

But you're a stranger. [She says it with a faint giggle, so she's not all that worried, apparently.] But I don't really feel like being very wary right now. What's your name?

Oh it's fine! xD

[ Helios smiles a bit sheepishly and rubs the back of his head. She did have a point, though the next statement catches him a bit off guard. He blinks a bit confused as he looks back at Katie. ] It's, um, H-Helios Sprensonne. But H-Helios is just fine.

Helios? I have a cousin called Helios at home. [The amount of imaginary cousins Katie has is limitless.] I'm Charlotte. So now you're not a stranger anymore. D'you often go walking around at night?

[folklorist]

[ Helios looks more than a little surprised. Another person with that name? Huh that's interesting. He vaguely wonders if they're inhuman as well but he doesn't press the matter. He smiles. ] Charlotte. That's a lovely name. [ A warm smile. ]

Oh! Ah! Y-Yes I, um, do actually. It-it helps clear my head sometimes.

[ He can't say he really minds the peaceful solitary walks either. ] When the weather is nice it's always so very peaceful to, um, w-walk around at night.

[flickerflash]

[With that, she decides Helios is harmless, and Katie turns on the fountain so she's facing toward him instead.] It's very peaceful. You must run into all sorts of strange people running around in the dark, though. Did you know there are vampires in this town?

[She's noticing the drift of his glamour, too, as it begins to bend toward her. Well. Perhaps she'll have to leave soon. He seems nice enough, after all.]

[folklorist]

[ Harmless of course. Helios would never even hurt a fly if the situation didn't call for it. And even then fighting is something he rather detests when all is said and done. ] Oh! Ah, y-yes I did. There's been some activity from then not t-too long ago I think? B-But Buffy is, um, very good at f-fighting them.

[ Helios gives a reassuring smile at that statement though. ] I don't think there's anything to worry about.

[flickerflash]

Oh, you know Buffy? [Katie brightens. With the way he speaks, he sort of reminds her of Giles. But then the first part of what he said sinks in, and she frowns.] What sort of activity?

[folklorist]

Oh! Yes, um, I do. I-I knew Giles a bit better though. [ His tone shifts a little to a sadder tone as he speaks about the other man. ]

It-it was nothing really. Just-just a vampire from Buffy's world. She was s-stopped though. [ It's a bit hard for him to say, really, but Drusilla was a danger to a lot of people here. Helios isn't used to such violence in terms of dealing with vampires. The ones in his world are so much different than the ones in Giles' and Buffy's world. ]

[flickerflash]

Stopped? [That gets her interest, and Katie leans forward, no longer paying attention to the fact her glamour has started to draw off Helios' own.] Did she kill anyone?

[folklorist]

O-Oh! I-I don't know. I don't believe so...thankfully. That would be rather dreadful wouldn't it? [ Not as if there isn't enough of that happening to people during drafts like himself and others. ] Everything seems to be back to normal.

[flickerflash]

Oh.

That's good, then. [Though she almost sounds like she wishes it were otherwise.] I'd hate to be killed by a vampire.

[...you might be feeling the tiniest bit tired.]

[folklorist]

[ That onset of fatigue is strange. Funny he was fine a second ago. Maybe he was putting too many hours into the library? Either way he keeps himself steady despite the rushing tiredness. ] Oh goodness. I-I don't think you'll have to worry about that happening, dear. Buffy is...very proactive when it-it comes to that sort of thing.

[ He gives a wavering little smile as he nods. ]

That's good. Things shouldn't be that simple, should they? I'd much prefer I was killed by someone who could never be found.

[folklorist]

S-Somethings are but, well, Luceti does make things complicated sometimes. [ He blinks looking at her curiously. ]

Why do you say that? [ He sways a little before he finally takes a shaky seat. A soft sight escaping him. ] I-I don't think you have to worry about such things while here. Everyone tends to protect everyone else. Luceti does have a tight group of defenders and protectors.

[flickerflash]

[The thought occurs to Katie that really she should move on before the poor man falls into the fountain or something, but what she's doing isn't lethal and this is a bone she's been worrying at for some time.] Do you think so? Do you think they ever missed someone that might have needed it?

[folklorist]

[ The question raises an alarm in Helios as he looks tiredly back at the young girl. He offers her a compassionate smile. ] I think that...they wouldn't do it intentionally, no. Luceti is a big place and having only so many people patrolling at night even things like this can slip through the cracks. It-it's very comforting I admit but, ah, well I don't think Buffy would let people she knows or even doesn't know come to harm if she knew about it.

[ A slight sigh. ] Luceti however doesn't help aid in such things either. What with all the craziness that occurs around here it's probably hard sometimes f-for people to-to keep p-promises. I-I know that...a similar thing happened to me and a good friend of mine. [ He shudders unconsciously as he remembers the mask and Halloween and how Giles stabbed through his hand, the left hand which was still scarred and barely able to close. ]

[flickerflash]

[Katie's face softens. Really, she knows she's not being entirely fair. It's her own fault things happened, after all.]

What happened?

[folklorist]

[ Helios flinches a little at the question and shakes his head. The usual dull ache becoming a bit more stronger by the minute. ]

A...good friend of mine. He, um, d-did something a-against his will. But it-it wasn't his fault. I-I don't blame him for it either. His actions were a p-product of the ex-experiment. [ He doesn't mention what happened exactly. But judging from his tone it wasn't anything good. ]

[flickerflash]

Experiments aren't very nice here, are they? [She wonders distractedly whether someone killed her by accident, then. Maybe it's the same sort of thing. But then they would have come forward, wouldn't they?] Did he say he was sorry afterward?

[folklorist]

No they aren't. [ He sounds a bit sad as he says that. ] He-he did. E-Even if, if I didn't want him to because I-I knew it wasn't something he could control.

[ Helios is a hypocrite for saying such things. But, well, it was true. It wasn't Giles' fault given the circumstances. ]

Do you think it makes people feel better sometimes to say they're sorry?
