Player Event - Chaos Plot

Who: Helios and pretty much everyone who replied to this post
What: The demon god Apep which affixed itself to Helios’ soul has awoken.
When: August 6th-9th
Where: Starting around house 44 then mainly around town and the woods
Summary: Basically Helios gets possessed and causes all sorts of chaos and destruction that the evil god, Apep, is known for causing!
Rating: R for lots of violence

[ It’s strange how the twist of events of a simple evening walk could change much of everything. In an instant, that was Luceti’s way of things, changing things in an instant. And Helios never even saw it coming. There were still parts of that night and parts of his soul that he never truly understood. But there were always ways of finding out. They say hands on experience is one of the best ways of learning. And this is a lesson he and several others won't soon forget. ]

((ooc; Okay plot is a go! If anyone doesn’t have an out for their character to be saved please PM me or contact me on plurk at pathogenic~ Otherwise have fun!))
risingshepard: Shepard crossing her arms. Worst sign for whoever gets to see it. (You're awfully paranoid.)

[And yet, he may find that she's more than capable to back up her talk, in the most unexpected of ways, later on. However, that will have to wait.

The spikes are cast aside by the armor she wore, some driving into the plates but not wounding, but the lightning was another matter. She's quickly shocked, and the electricity itself was made more effective by the material -- though it wasn't much different than what she'd dealt with, two years ago, during that fateful war for the Citadel. Grimacing, but soldiering on with the adrenaline still pumping through her veins, she continues storming towards Apep, unyielding, and with a fist primed and sent straight towards his jaw.

She knows her limits, however--and she's expecting this to do little.]

[Shit.

She was used to abnormal gravity -- no, she breathed in these sudden adjustments without a problem. However, this was too sudden, and too strong, even for her, to fight off. Now the god's heading straight for her with that blade, and she's in no condition to fight it off, nor are Lupin and Adele.

This isn't how it's going to end...! Her struggle is futile, however--the only thing that could really save her, at this point, would be timely intervention.]

[Before Helios' sword can get close enough to pierce through Shepard's armour and flesh the peal of a deep, resonant and commanding bell cuts through the sounds of battle. Saraneth, the Binder's voice rings loud and clear from the bell in House 46, fueled by Sabriel's will to try to halt Helios' actions by binding the spirit inside him.

When Sabriel had gotten Harry Dresden's warning that morning she had made sure to bring her weapons, sword and bells, with her when she had first left the house. Upon returning it had been a surprise to find everything silent. The absolute quiet of life had been unnerving until the sounds of a fight, of people suffering broke through barrier that had warped the area.

Walking into the room slowly and calmly, Sabriel right hand holding Saraneth moves in a crescent moon motion while her left holds a silent Kibeth.]

[Even though she managed to slow him through her bells it was not enough to stop him. Biting back a curse her fingers slide down the silver of the bells to silence their clappers as she ducks out of the way of the weapon. Dear lord, he was fast, if she hadn't seen the attack coming it would have struck her head right from her shoulders!]

I don't know who you are but this is not where you belong!

[Gritting her teeth, Sabriel redoubles her will and flips both of the bells with a practiced hand, catching them both by the handles and ringing them together. Binder and Walker ring out loud and clear; the Binder voice is harsh, fueled by her will to constrict the spirit inhabiting her friend's body while Walker sings a commanding march, willing the Spirit to walk where it would not choose to. She had to expel it from Helios somehow and this was the only method she knew.

Bind the spirit, Walk it into Death and let the river carry it past the Ninth Gate. That had been her plan.

Of course during a battle, plans had the tendency to go terribly wrong.]

[It's still no use, even with both bells ringing the spirit can still break free of her hold. As he fades into shadows Sabriel slips her bells back into the bandolier, drawing her sword as soon as Saraneth and Kibeth are secure. A bead of sweat dripping from her her brow she tenses as the back of her neck bursts out into gooseflesh, her head snapping up to spot the man falling at her with a new blade.

With a shout of surprise Sabriel swings her sword up to meet his, trying to use his momentum to get a push away and gain some distance but his strength was more than she expected. Sparks flash between blades and Sabriel is pushed hard in a backwards stumble.]

[As Helios closes in on her it's all she can do try parry and redirect his strikes, each hit taxing her more and more until the last hit to her side she manages to block with the flat of her blade. Arms trembling from the exertion there's no way she can avoid the lunge or move her blade to defend herself. She was way in over her head.

Tensing she braces herself as best as she can. This was going to hurt.]

[Flinching as the blade arcs towards her head she squeezes her eyes shut and waits for the strike that never lands. At that soft hum she opens her eyes, following the dark gleam of his blade up to meet his gaze. She had never thought someone as kind and gentle as Helios could have such a dark expression.]

H-Helios-

[And then her body fills with pain, white hot and searing as it shoots through her. Choking out a surprised scream she tries to throw herself away from him but she can't move; as the dark energy courses through her body her Charter mark abruptly flares to light in the darkness, what innate power that lives in her blood trying to fight off Apep's darkness from the inside.]

[As the dark energy grows stronger Sabriel's scream turns sharper, the light from her Charter mark starting to flicker under its pressure when Helios...no, Apep, slams her back against the wall. Sword clattering to the ground Sabriel is powerless to fight Apep's grip, the darkness oozing onto her from the walls and his power forcing its way through her veins. Gasping a strained sob her eyes roll back as the golden light of her Charter is smothered by the enveloping darkness.]

[Her body shudders as the last of Helios' dark power sinks into her, searing hot to everything it touches and then...

Like a door being slammed closed she relaxes, her eyes cracking open to look up almost reverently at Apep. As the Free magic is released throughout her body a fire sparks behind her eyes; a dark, hateful flame just waiting to consume Life and order, everything the Charter stood for. Dipping her head in submission she murmurs.]

What is your command, my lord?
