Player Event - Chaos Plot
Who: Helios and pretty much everyone who replied to this post
What: The demon god Apep which affixed itself to Helios’ soul has awoken.
When: August 6th-9th
Where: Starting around house 44 then mainly around town and the woods
Summary: Basically Helios gets possessed and causes all sorts of chaos and destruction that the evil god, Apep, is known for causing!
Rating: R for lots of violence
[ It’s strange how the twist of events of a simple evening walk could change much of everything. In an instant, that was Luceti’s way of things, changing things in an instant. And Helios never even saw it coming. There were still parts of that night and parts of his soul that he never truly understood. But there were always ways of finding out. They say hands on experience is one of the best ways of learning. And this is a lesson he and several others won't soon forget. ]
((ooc; Okay plot is a go! If anyone doesn’t have an out for their character to be saved please PM me or contact me on plurk at pathogenic~ Otherwise have fun!))

So cut off their heads with shovels...?
Del-chan...
[She wants to say its alright but she isn't sure how.]
Nothing is going to hurt you. I drove him off. He...won't touch you ever again...
STOP! Shovel time?
Shut it off. Cope later.
It's a struggle, but after a moment more and with the help of Saori's soft assurances, she shoves it all to the back of her mind. Plasters it over with a familiar mask and pulls back to breathe. Work. She needs work. Something to focus on aside from the scrabbling terror locked in the back of her mind.]
I...thank you, Tempête.
Doo doo doo doot!
Of course. Its what friends do.
[A soft smile greets Adele as Saori pulls her back, holding the woman like a doll for a moment. This, at least, was a familiar thing. Yuuna had needed encouragement often, and Saori was beginning to see Adele in a similar light. Leaning close, the goddess pecked Adele gently on the cheek and whispered in her ear]
Don't worry. We'll all make it through this alright. I promise.
[And then she lets Adele go]
Can't touch dis
You've my gratitude all the same-
[even with the smile as some form of warning, being pulled back in is enough of a surprise to have her lock up for a second. It's Saori, it's safe, and she relaxes soon enough. It's strange and not at all uncomfortable to be treated as a much younger woman- normally she would protest but to Saori? She is terribly young.]
We'll be fine.
[She nods and rubs her face with a hand, looking back over to Lupin.]
We have to be.
Nope.
[Saori nods firmly, ignoring any signs of Adele's discomfort, and turning to Lupin. His arm is broken. He'd done something stupid.]
He's alive.
[She leans down next to Lupin, putting her ear to his chest]
His ki is flowing funny, but he'll be alright. How did this happen, Adele? Tell me everything. I need to know what I'm dealing with.
Nope.
[That is what frustrates her most. She doesn't know. It was silent- it went dark, they lost Lupin and then...chaos.]
Everything was quiet- silent. As though I was deaf once I was close to this house and my own. I rushed inside- Lupin and Shepard were armed and waiting for...something. Someone. I waited with them and then Lupin left Shepard and I to check the rest of the house. That is when something began to shut off the lights in the house and cover the windows so that it was pitch black.
I waited with Shepard as long as I could stand it and entered this room. Helios had a sword made of blood and was going to kill Lupin- but it wasn't. I don't. That couldn't have been him. He didn't move like Helios, didn't speak like him and I don't understand-
[She cuts herself off and squeezes her eyes shut. Takes a slow breath.]
I shot him. Or at least attempted to- twice. He left Lupin be long enough for him to call you and...[Reached into her mind and played with it like it was a toy.] Threw me into a wall. I was dazed, Shepard fought with him, then Sabriel arrived...I don't know what else. It happened so quickly, it was difficult to see and sound kept coming in and going out at random.
Nope.
He did something else to you. I can feel it. An enchantment, or a curse. I will find a way to break it.
[Not a question, a statement. Not a promise, a certainty. She didn't know Shepard, but guessed that they'd meet eventually.]
Adele. That was not Helios. It was a god, a shade of one anyway. He named himself Apep. Does that name seem familiar to you?
[All this, without saying a word about having sensed Helios' problem when they'd met, a darkness affixed to his very soul]
no subject
[She doesn't know how to explain it, how to rationalize it, or how she's supposed to cope with it- a curse it wasn't. It's just...a lingering malaise in the back of her mind that will make sleep impossible for the next however long.]
Apep? I don't...he never mentioned an Apep. I'm not familiar with mythology, that was Henri's area.
[A god and a name. She could look him up in the library, see if there was anything informative about him there-
Oh merde.
Luminair.]
no subject
[She stands up, her voice is slightly harder and more firm. This was a dangerous game, and one false step and things would bet infinitely worse. If Adele...was tainted. Should that stain grow, she should be aware of the gravity of the situation.]
I am going to need you to do some research for me. The name is Egyptian, I know that much. And he is a god of Chaos.
no subject
[Cursed- enchanted, fuck that. Fuck that and fuck this god. It's easy and comfortable to let the swell of fear twist into anger. Something she could use, could pinpoint at a target. Something that gave her focus.]
Whatever there is on him? I will find it.
no subject
[For an instant, Saori shifts her gaze back to Adele, a flicker of lightning playing across her eye. She didn't want to, but Adele was going to need to be watched. And that made her heart hard with anger. Apep would pay. That, she swore.]
Can you wake up Lupin?
no subject
[It's chilling, that look. Saori was kind, serene, cheeky- but Adele cannot let herself forget that she was some form of divine. Powerful and old and alien. Adele ignores the chill and turns her attention to the limp thief, smoothing a hand through his hair.]
Lupin? Lupin!
no subject
no subject
That was an edge that he never wanted to hear again.
He shifts underneath her hand--and regrets it. Even that motion was too much. Lupin swallows a groan of discomfort and forces his vision to focus on Adele, his thoughts a whirlwind of reactions to the recent battle. Helios--no, that thing that possessed him, lingered in his recent memory. Those hands, the alien strength that was impossible for a man of that build--
Lupin tried to move his hand, his uninjured one, and found it in him to brush Adele's arm. She was safe, he reassured himself. She was alive.]
Adele. [His voice was husky from pain and sleep, but grew stronger as he asserted his mental blocks. Pain was something temporary, and something he could handle.
Mostly.]
Did Songbird...?
[The scent of rain. He had his answer.]
no subject
And for this Adele is immeasurably thankful. She wants to haul him up and hold him. Every vision, every waking horror was proven false the moment he groaned. He's fine. He'll be fine. They're safe-
It's difficult for her to focus on calling for Nala. She can't manage anything other than a muted pulse of. Something to dull the pain. How long it'll last, how effective it'll be, she doesn't know. But it's all she can do for him right now.]
She's here. She made it.
no subject
Hello, Little Fox. I hear you did something very brave.
[And very, very stupid. She's a bit more gentle as she reaches out to touch his face, and inspect his eyes. This one...startlingly enough, is free from taint, so she immediately releases him]
no subject
Brave nothing. I was just going to scan the perimeter.
[He dropped the act immediately when she stared into his eyes, feeling for a tense moment that she could see his everything. It was a glimmer of fear, an echo of that awe-inspiring image he had witnessed on their last meeting.
His eyes dropped away when she released him, and he realized that this was absolutely no time to play. Gingerly, he brings his hand over to his injured arm, curious about the damage.]
How bad do you think...?
no subject
You shouldn't have wandered off alone when you knew something was wrong, Little Fox. And your arm? Not bad. Here, this may hurt but try not to scream.
[With a single, fluid motion she grabs his disjointed arm and bends it into a proper position, wiggling it a few times while applying pressure. There is an audible pop after a second as it slips back into place, and he is released]
Dislocation. Nothing serious there. The rest of this? Very bad.
no subject
[Lupin hauls himself up too fast, and is met by another wave of vertigo for his efforts. Regardless, he manages a stare that was almost withering for Saori. He held his arm with his uninjured one, quickly formulating a checklist in his mind.]
'Very bad' is light--Helios is possessed by some kind of God, isn't he? [He shakes his head, sincerely wishing for a shot of that whiskey.] Goddamn...I'm gonna need a sling. How's Artoo and Shepard?
no subject
[Adele stands with Lupin, stepping in to hook an arm around his waist on his good side. He needs a sling- painkillers beyond a simple soothing pulse from Nala. She didn't have anything that could help at the moment, a stop to the village clinic would solve it.]
We've a name. Apep. Artoo is...hiding, I think. I have not seen the Commander.
no subject
Think on it this way, it could have been worse. It could have been broken. Cease your whining. We've got work to do.
[Of course, she's only half joking, too. Her hands come to rest on her hips, and she looks around the room, rain still pounding outside.]
I need your help. Information on this Apep. I know he's Egyptian, and claims to be a god of Chaos. I need to know more about him, and as I used a significant portion of my power in driving him and one of his minions away I must meditate and recover.
no subject
His shoulder still throbbed, but he could work through it. He had dealt with worse on jobs.]
Researching...I can do. Info is always important, and mining for it is rewarding in and of itself. You do what you must, Songbird. We'll get you the info...and find Shepard and Artoo.
[Especially Artoo. There was little to no way to help the small droid if he had faced any damage.]
And thanks, for responding so quickly. Dunno what we would have done if you hadn't showed.
no subject
Of course. You asked for my help. I came, as I said I would.
[Then she remembers]
There is another enemy. A man with red hair, wielding a trident and summoning devils. He tried to bar my passage, though I defeated him, but he may be lurking nearby. I would watch for him, he seems quite mad.
no subject
[He was the only one in the enclosure that matched Saori's description- but why would he help Apep? Why would he be involved at all? She doesn't remember enough or know enough of the man to clearly say but...if his mind had been pressed upon as hers was that might explain things.]
He's often volatile, and occasionally vulgar, but violent? Not in my experience with him.
no subject
[She traces a finger along her cheek, indicating a pencil thin red line that was already knitting shut]
And he's unconscious on the street.
