Chaos Plot Reactions!

Who: Anyone/Everyone affected by Helios' nasty bout of Possession Sickness
What: Picking up the pieces
When: August 11th/12th
Where: Wherever there was bad mojo!
Summary: Apep, an Egyptian god of Chaos, possessed Helios and wrecked havoc. Those involved are going to have to cope with their injuries, mental traumas, and newfound night terrors!
Rating: R, for possible trigger warnings for descriptions of violence and bad language.

[The tenth. It's only a day after she woke up, though it was already verging on her fourth day there. She's very pale - paler than usual, and under a thick blanket, despite the season.

... but she's awake. Mostly staring at the ceiling, trying to avoid falling right back asleep, for the moment - but it's not so easy to do with most mentally stimulating things not being available.

The light knock and creak of the door catch her attention, and she blinks, moving her gaze toward that direction. It takes a moment for her to place him, but-]

... Hm? Is that you, Sanji?

[Rather than waltz in after he's been spotted, Sanji stills in place by the door, assessing the woman with blatant concern tugging at his expression. Shit, she's pale - more than he expected, and not for the first time does he wonder what could have done this to her. He doesn't know the details, after all; only that she was sick, and needed rest.

At least she's awake. That's a comfort Sanji eagerly embraces, and so he smiles when he finally makes his way into the room] Aa. I just came by to see how you were doing.

[She manages to smile in return, but it's clear that even that took effort.] It is good to see you, though I'm sorry you have to see me like this.

[He shakes both his head and his hands] Oi, don't worry about that.

Are you sure you don't need more rest? [He hadn't missed that tell-tale sign of exhaustion. Whatever happened took a lot out of her]

I can come by later.

It's all right. I... want to be awake for a little while. [She is exhausted, but... talking to an actual person might feel better than laying there with nothing but the walls. Or sleeping with a chance of disturbing dreams.] How are things outside?

Really damn hot. [Which probably isn't what she meant, but he offers a crooked grin all the same] But otherwise perfectly normal.

[Or what equates to normal for this place.]

[She feels rather the opposite of hot right now, hence the extra layers. But it does make her smile.] 'Normal', hm? I like the sound of that. Nothing new?

Not that I've seen. [A pause, and then with a guilty slant to his voice] ... Not that I've been attention lately.

[Another pause. Eventually he drifts closer to the bed, hands sliding into his pockets] We lost a few workers at Seventh Heaven, so I don't see a lot of sunlight.

[Well, that in itself was something new. Her smile fades. While it wasn't a bad thing that people were being sent home, the effects it had on those left behind... well, she was very familiar with that.]

... I'm sorry to hear that. Don't push yourself too hard.

[He shakes his head a little] Touya and Yukito went back together. It was for the best they weren't split up.

[Heh... it reminds him of Ginko, suddenly, and Sanji pauses sharply as the stark similarities constrict his throat. But he breathes through it carefully, only closing his eyes as if in thought, and continues]

And don't worry about me, Raine-chan~! I'll be sure to get some new chefs. [Eventually.]

Ah... I see.

[There's something in that pause, she notices. But it's not her place to comment on it, instead trying to smile for his benefit.]

There likely are plenty of chefs out there waiting to be discovered by you, with a population this size.

Do you think so? [Sometimes Sanji worries the opposite, considering the number of people he knows that can't cook worth shit. Noel alone could kill off half the Luceti population]

I'll probably put out a call for 'em in that case. [He flexes a grin] Or maybe I should just ask you to chip in~!

I wouldn't mind helping out if you really needed it. It's not nice to tease, you know.

[he offers a small laugh, looking somewhat sheepish] I know, Raine-chan. But you've got so much on your plate with the school as it is.

The school, and the flower shop as well. [A thoughtful pause, a soft sigh.] Honestly, I suppose I'm the one who needs to start advertising for more help.

And the flower shop? [My gods, lady.]

Well, you know what happens when people start getting sent home. Soon something that started out as part time takes up a lot of the time, and... well, it's good that school has been out for the summer.

[He nods a little, able to understand. After all, that's largely why he took on the job of running Seventh Heaven.]

But what about when school starts? [A grumble] Vash better be helping you out! Isn't he another one of the owners?

He does his fair share, don't worry. [Although at the moment she isn't aware of his being kidnapped and aged beyond recognition. That'll make the time she eventually is able to work again a little more busy than usual.] I'm sure we'll be able to figure something out. ... I still need to find new teachers for the school as well.

... Raine-chan, you sound busier than I do.

I don't mind being occupied. [Like now, for instance. Keeping her eyes open is beginning to be a struggle, however.] ... Honestly, I find it more difficult when I'm unable to do much at all.

[That being something Sanji readily understands, his grins at her again, albeit sadly]

You must be bored out of your mind here.

My options are still a bit limited. [It's meant to be wry, but there's a slight glance to some nearby books that have been too straining to even read for too long. That's a tragedy right there.] It'll get better, though, so don't you worry.

Yes, I'm sure you will~! Raine-chan is one of the strongest women I know~!

[Though that said, he isn't missing the drain in her energy, either] I should probably let you get back to sleep soon, though.

And I suppose I shouldn't keep you away too long from your restaurant. [A little teasing, there, but she gives a better smile to that.]
