Chaos Plot Reactions!

Who: Anyone/Everyone affected by Helios' nasty bout of Possession Sickness
What: Picking up the pieces
When: August 11th/12th
Where: Wherever there was bad mojo!
Summary: Apep, an Egyptian god of Chaos, possessed Helios and wrecked havoc. Those involved are going to have to cope with their injuries, mental traumas, and newfound night terrors!
Rating: R, for possible trigger warnings for descriptions of violence and bad language.

Nothing is ever easy for them House 46 folks. Gawddamn!

[Handing over the tray she lingers by the open door.]

If you need anything please let me know.

[ He'll take the tray tentatively and shakily with both hands. ] Th-the same can be s-said of me. If-if you need anything please d-don't hesitate to ask.

[ Really after everything he's not sure what would be enough to mend anything right now. ]

Thank you.

[Taking a step back she gives Helios a small, soft smile. She wouldn't force him to do anything he doesn't want to but she's glad that he knows that she'll help him if he needs it.]

And...say hello to Luminair for me.

I-I think he wants to say hello t-to you now. [ He'll open the door a bit more to let the baby dragon out. A loud happy chirp erupts from Luminair as he practically pounces Sabriel. He'll wag his tail happily and his eyes will swirl with bright blues and greens. He is very happy to see you now pick him up please! Luminair wants scratches and hugs. ]

He's...missed you.

Hello Luminair- it's good to see you too.

[Lets just face it, no matter how sad one might be, the sight of an excited baby dragon pouncing at you for affection can't help but make you smile. With a soft huff and a small smile Sabriel compromises and kneels to pull the little dragon onto her lap, her arms too weak to carry the dragon outright but she can still give him some affectionate scritches.]

It's good that you have him for company, Helios.

[ Luminair likes laps too. He will nuzzle against Sabriel with affectionate purrs and squeaks as he tries to make her smile a bit more. He maybe be a baby but he knows when people are in pain and unhappy. Luminair doesn't really like that either. ]

It is. I...I'm glad that I have him here. [ A pause as he watches the baby dragon continue. ] I'll bring him b-by too if-if you want.

[Luminair you really are just...too sweet. With her right hand resting over his back her left scratches under his chin, a small warm smile curling her lips at all the little happy sounds the dragon makes.]

I would like that. If you let me know ahead of time I can prepare tea or lunch.

[ Helios smiles sadly as he watches the two of them. He could arrange for that, meeting Sabriel and Adele if they wanted. ] Y-You don't have to do that, Sabriel. I-I can just stop by for a little while.

[ He does appreciate the offer for tea though. ]

I want to. And...I'll probably have more than enough left over from whatever I can bring back from the restaurant too.

I-I appreciate it then. [ Luminair nudges Sabriel's hand again from more scratches. A little happy chirp as he looks up at her. ] Luminair would certainly enjoy that too.

[Of course you can have more scritches, Luminair. With your little reminder she sits back a bit to roll him onto his back so she can give him a tummy rub.]

It might take time for everyone to be back where we used to be...but we'll get there eventually. We will.

[ Tummy rubs! Luminair loves these! A high pitched squeak is emitted from the baby dragon when he's rolled over onto his back. But once the rubbing starts he'll contently purr and let Sabriel give him all the tummy rubs she wants, he is not complaining!

Helios can't help but let out a small laugh as he watches. So cute Luminair. His voice is somber when he next replies. ] I-I hope that it-it can get back to where it once was. I-I don't expect anyone to-to really come around towards me a-after everything. After not ever saying anything about it. You felt it b-before, didn't you? [ He looks away, biting his lip as he does so. The painful reminder of just what caused Apep to be stuck on his soul ever present. It was painful to even think about, let alone tell someone about it. ]

It will take time and work but it's still possible.

[Still rubbing Luminair's tummy her gaze drops a little as she nods. She remembers their first meeting, that odd cold she'd felt coming off of the man...even now she can still feel it if she focuses on it but after she'd come to know him she'd pushed that feeling to the back of her mind.]

I can understand why you wouldn't want to talk about it. It's a part of yourself that is dark, and no matter what you do there's still that piece of darkness that you can't get rid of.

[Huffing out a soft sigh she looks up. It was nice to be able to be open with him, to hear his end of the situation after everything that happened.]

Like with me...as Abhorsen it's my responsibility to return the Dead to Death so that they may not prey on the living. But to know how to stop them, I have to know how the Dead come to be in the first place. It's a terrible knowledge that I must carry with me.

[ It's something that will never go away and the intense pain after the fact was even more apparent now. It wasn't as easy to push it away and ignore it and Helios briefly looks in incredible pain. He turns away to hide it before he regains his composure. ] It...it's my own fault. I-I did this to myself. I-I deserve to an e-extent.

[ Pay for your mistakes and crimes. Helios looks at the floor his eyes cloudy and watered as he blinks away those forming tears. ] It was never like this b-before. And I-I made a terrible mistake, and this-this is the price I pay for it.

[She had caught a glimpse of that pain flash across his face but he had turned too quickly, and Luminair was snuggled contentedly on her lap. She speaks gently, sad to see her friend in so much pain.]

We all make mistakes Helios and sometimes...the price we pay for them can be great. But you can't let them control you. If you do, you give up who you are, you give up your life, your future.

The mistakes don't define who you are, it's how you cope with them...and I think you have done so admirably. You're one of the kindest men I've ever met.

They d-don't? [ He doesn't sound sure about that. Because back home? Back home he was nothing more than a outcast and murderer for his mistake. Here it wasn't as bad...but if people found out? What would they really think about everything he never told anyone before. He looks entirely too tired in that instant and entirely unhealthy and exhausted. ] I'm t-trying not to-to give up. I-I didn't mean for anyone to get dragged into, into all this though. Especially you and Adele and Lupin.

[ He didn't mean for anything like this to happen. He didn't know anything like this could happen. ] How a-am I supposed to apologize and accept f-forgiveness for something that's a-a part of me? S-Something that's my fault t-to begin with?

When you make a mistake you have options; do you ignore the consequences and ensure a repeat of the mistake will happen again? Or do you learn from it so it will never reoccur?

There are many shades of grey between those points but do you understand what I mean when I say your reactions are important? The mistake is the spark, the push to make you decide what kind of person you want to be.

[Helios, you really need to have a good meal and a good nights sleep.]

It may be a part of you but it isn't you. You have to accept that it happened and move on.

You-you learn f-from it. [ His voice is small and tired. His shoulders sag as if under an incredible weight. ] I-I do understand that.

[ He really does need a good nights sleep. But he can't sleep, not now. Not after everything that's happened. He just...can't. ]

I'm t-trying to-to do that. [ And trying to figure out what to do with himself in the process. It's so very easy to lock himself away and just...never bother anyone again. But he has the responsibility to try and make things better. He has to try and make things better because this was like Halloween all over again, only worse. ]

[If Sabriel were more comfortable with the idea of using her Free magic she'd offer to use Ranna to give him a proper night's sleep.]

Seeing you helps. Being able to talk with you and just...share what happened is good, even though it's hard. [She gives him a small smile.]

If you keep yourself locked away, nothing changes.

[ He bites his lip and nods in agreement. It wouldn't change anything, he knows that. After Elise died he was just as ready and eager to hide away and wither away. He was so ready to give up his own life that he almost forgot the dream she and he had. Her death would have been in vain if had given up, so he couldn't do that. He couldn't let Apep win, not then, and certainly not now. He wouldn't...he couldn't let that happen. ]

I-I want to h-help you if, if you'll let me. With-with anything you need. [ He has to do that much at least for her and everyone else he dragged into this mess. ]

I would appreciate it Helios. Thank you.

[Still running her fingertips over Luminair's stomach she gives the man a small smile.]

If anything comes up, I'll be sure to let you know.

[ Luminair is a very happy dragon, as his purrs and happy little chirps convey that much. He'll roll back onto his stomach and give Sabriel's hands a happy lick or too. Happy baby dragon is happy! His tail wags are clue enough to that too. ] Alright. Th-thank you. A-And do take care of yourself, S-Sabriel.

[You, Mr. Baby Dragon, are too adorable for words. Huffing a soft chuckle at his affection she rubs her thumb against the little dragon's cheek.]

I will...and you take care of yourself too, Helios.
