Summary: Apep, an Egyptian god of Chaos, possessed Helios and wrecked havoc. Those involved are going to have to cope with their injuries, mental traumas, and newfound night terrors!
Rating: R, for possible trigger warnings for descriptions of violence and bad language.

[ He doesn't know how to respond to that besides a small choked back sob. He shakes his head as he moves away. ] Y-You have e-every right t-to be.

[ Because Apep had almost hurt her. ]

[She only watches him for now, now genuinely confused.]

Why would I?

[folklorist]

Because I-I hurt you and, and everyone else. [ A shuddering sigh as he looks away from Grune once more. ] Because I-I never told anyone and th-then this happened. And I-I couldn't stop it.

[lostinmyway]

[She steps in front of him again, wanting to see his face and trying to catch his eye.]

But if you didn't mean to and you didn't want it to happen, then of course I won't be angry. It would just make you feel bad, and I want you to be happy, Helios.

[She holds out her hand to him, wanting him to take it. Hoping he will.]

[folklorist]

[ He looks so terribly tired and drained when he manages to look at Grune again. Dark circles forming lightly around his eyes as he moves away slightly. ] It-it doesn't change the f-fact that I. That h-he did those things.

[ She should be angry, everyone should be angry, but no one was and he's not sure he can fully comprehend that yet. He looks at the offered hand, his own shaking slightly, as he slowly makes to take hers. But he stops at the very last second a shaky breath of air escaping his lips. He doesn't deserve it, does he? Grune who was so happy and pure and understanding. ]

[Gently, she closes the gap between them the rest of the way. Her fingers fold around his and she brings her other hand up to cup his.]

Well, if you feel bad, why don't you do something nice to help everyone? Then you'll feel better.

[She still doesn't think he should feel bad at all, but maybe this will help him. And she can do some nice things with him, too, so he won't feel lonely.]

[folklorist]

[ His hands and fingers twitch at the warm gentle embrace Grune's hand offers. He has half a mind to pull himself away again, but he can't find it in himself to do so. Instead he simply nods. ] I-I don't know what. What I could d-do. But I-I'm trying Grune.

[ He's just not sure if it's going to work. ]

[lostinmyway]

Just try to make everyone smile. That's something very good you could do.

[She smiles herself, trying to coax a better expression from him.]

[folklorist]

Try to m-make everyone s-smile...

[ Easier said then done when he himself can't even manage one. ] I'm not s-sure how well I-I'll do. B-But I can try. [ He manages a small smile himself but it quickly vanishes, just as fast as it came. ]

[She squeezes his hand.]

As long as you try your best, everything will work out. Don't worry.

As long as I try my b-best. I suppose that's all I can...d-do.

[ For now anyway. ]
