Summary: Apep, an Egyptian god of Chaos, possessed Helios and wrecked havoc. Those involved are going to have to cope with their injuries, mental traumas, and newfound night terrors!
Rating: R, for possible trigger warnings for descriptions of violence and bad language.

[For awhile, Albert focuses on adjusting to the added weight of the bag, but he soon takes note of Raine's unsteadiness as they make their way to the entrance.]

Was there any estimate for how long you would be feeling like this?

My personal stores of energy are still rebuilding themselves. I'll probably feel more normal in a few days, though the rest of the process... hopefully no longer than a week.

A few days. [He muses aloud, glancing over to where Astrid waits for them. The horse tosses her head a bit in greeting before calming down again.] Let me put this bag down again and I will help you into the saddle.

[wise_maiden]

Hello, Astrid. [She gives a soft smile to the horse before turning her head back to Albert.] Understood. I'll be ready when you are.

[He sets the bag down far enough away that Astrid won't stumble into it, then moves into a crouching position next to Raine and the horse.]

Take it easy. We're in no hurry here.

[wise_maiden]

[Raine waits for him to get into place, though she keeps a hand on the edge of the saddle. Slowly she gets into the right positioning for him to give her a boost, trying to keep herself steady.]

[Albert carefully rises once Raine has a grip on the saddle, not trusting Raine's strength at the moment for her to toss her leg over to the other side of Astrid.]

How are you doing?

[wise_maiden]

... I'm fine. [She keeps her grip as tight as possible as they rise. Slow, steady.] Just ... a little dizzy.

[chikaidestroyer]

Just hold on and keep your head down. [Trying to look around right now wouldn't help her dizziness at all. He remains patient as he waits for Raine to lean into Astrid in transfer her weight from his hands to the horse's back.]

[wise_maiden]

[Raine does her best to hold on and shift her weight. It takes a little more strength than she had been expecting, but she forces her concentration on it, and on keeping herself balanced.

It'll take another moment for her to be up on the horse completely, but that still leaves the matter of her legs getting in the right position.]

[Once Raine is off of his hands, Albert straightens completely and walks over to the front so he can pat Astrid and see how she is doing. He gives her a pat on the neck so she will begin slowly walking around.]

Comfortable?

[At first she still holds on tightly, until she gets her feet sorted out. Then she relaxes her grip a little, once Astrid starts moving.]

I'll probably keep my eyes closed for a little longer... but yes, I'm all right.

Don't strain yourself. You have already done enough today with this bag alone.

[With a test walk done, Albert picks up Raine's bag again and takes hold of Astrid's bridle to lead her back to the house -- not that the horse wouldn't eventually find her way back on her own.]

... you're probably right. Still, it feels good to be on the way.

[There are a few things to focus on up here. Staying awake, for starters, making sure that she stays in place and keeps her hold. There's something soothing about the slow pace, though occasionally she'll half open her eyes to take in the scenery, particularly the greens of the trees and just the life present. There's a light breeze, and it feels cooler than it should.]

[He says nothing for awhile, simply leading Astrid down the road back to the house.]

A mission appeared over the journals while you were in bed. Have you been able to read over it?

[wise_maiden]

Hm? [She had gotten used to the silence, sometimes humming faintly to herself to keep from dozing off.] I noticed that one was there, but I didn't read over everything in depth yet. It was the one about needing a circus troupe, wasn't it?

[chikaidestroyer]

That's right. Acting as a traveling troupe in order to gather information about our recent ... returning 'host.' [His voice dips into a deadpan as he refers to the Count.]

[wise_maiden]

[There's a pause as she takes in that information. It's not hard to miss the implication there.]

It's a little ironic, that he'd suddenly pop up here again and then they'd assign us to a mission concerning him. A performing troupe, however... I wonder how effectively that could be pulled off. It sounds more involved than the last infiltration.

[chikaidestroyer]

There will be more people involved, but the goal is ultimately simpler than laying siege on an area. Those involved will need to have some more ... entertainment talents and be prepared to act.

I have to admit that I'm intrigued. [Because it was him, the one who had antagonized them years ago.]

[wise_maiden]

It sounds like a rare opportunity. Do you think you'll sign up for it, then?

That is likely, yes. I will have to think about what I could possibly offer to a troupe of that sort, though.

[wise_maiden]

There are likely a lot of behind the scenes positions available, if you're more comfortable with that.

It does not seem like we choose our roles ourselves, but it would be good to think about before volunteering.

I hope I'll be feeling well enough to go along.

Hm. Do not push yourself to do so. You already said it would be involved, and the physical demand of performance could drive you to illness.
