Prescribed Recreation part 3: Chillax'n with a Vengeance

What: Movie night on the beach

Where: The Beach
Summary: After an unfortunate tussle with a Chaos God, work on a farm, a swarm of refugees and stress piled upon stress, sometimes all anyone wants is to sit back and watch classic movies.
Rating: PG for possible adult language
Something that everyone could agree on was this: the past three weeks had been several shades of stressful. What they needed, what they all needed was something mindless and relaxing shared in the company of those they care for in a neutral environment. The beach works well enough, and it's not that far a trip for anyone involved.

[She accepts the plate with a nod of gratitude and fetches herself silverware. It's awkward to cut with but one hand, but she manages. Takes a bite and smiles.]

I think I prefer this to beef, actually.

Good. Its a bit of a rare treat, I think. I've only seen it in the store once before. On my birthday. Maybe its some manner of apology for the trouble they caused last week.

[Luke shrugs]

It was quite a bit of trouble. Perhaps I should check the stores for fresh mussels when I go next.

[The odds of finding them are slim but it would be something. Even if she has no idea how to cook them. She'll just ask Helios.]

Perhaps you'll find them. I do sometimes find other foods from home, but mostly its Earth food. I'm getting used to it by now though.

A good portion of us seems to be from Earth and it's respective variations. If Dewback can be cooked much like beef perhaps if a joint appears in the store come winter I could prepare a roast for the holidays.

[She spends a moment enjoying the steak, and the idea of being able to spend winter with those she considers to be family. Then, very quietly, she asks.]

...How have you and Ami been?

[Luke nods at the suggestion, and smiles quietly at the question related to Ami]

We've been well. She's very sweet, and the shift on her seems to be wearing off. I...I'm very happy.

So it is going well? That's wonderful Luke. I am happy for you.

[She truly is. Luke's been through more than she can wrap her mind around and Ami works herself so very hard. They deserve this.]

I suppose asking how it fits with the tenants of the order is something of a foolish question, isn't it?

The original code according to Grandmaster Sunrider and Grandmaster Odan Urr allowed for them. When I laid down my code, I did the same.

Honestly? I've never studied it. I know that Master Yoda had a much stricter interpretation than I, or Grandmaster Sunrider.

[He pauses, an eyebrow rising]

I...also remember Grandmaster Sunrider having a conversation with Obi-Wan about attachments. Why do you ask?

I almost wish Master Sunrider was here for me to speak to on the matter. Almost.

[There'd been something comforting in the absolute certainty the woman had in her code. It shows in Luke as well, shades of it.]

I went to Rei at her shrine and she had another vision. One quite a bit more pleasant than the last. It was of Ben and I.

What sort of vision was it?

Almost. I am more comfortable discussing this with you than I am her.

[She rubs the palm of her left hand, remembering the sting of a cut from months ago.]

A...romantic vision.

Rei saw Ben and I walking through a field of flowers, hand in hand, and into a cave.

I think...I've been trying to ignore anything that I might feel for Ben beyond the platonic. Blame it on Levarre rather than consider it something I feel on my own.

Have you really? I think, perhaps, it may be good for the both of you.

It's a frightening thought. I was close to Rick but it wasn't anything like this. Rick was...hormones and attraction. Comfort found in similar bends of fatalism and sarcasm. A friend that I was attracted to and had potential.

This is something else entirely.
