Greetings, your name is LUCETI MOD. It seems you've lost your memory. Here's some facts about yourself:

1. You need to post a log about an Amnesia Event.

4. Remember to tell them to have fun. Apparently that's a thing?

[She takes a brief moment to read the card, and a slightly longer one to consider the meaning. It's very vague, and doesn't mean he's not spying; but if he were, would he tell her even this much? Probably not.

Finally having settled that he wasn't spying, or at least not on her, she has another thought.]

Did... you forget everything, too?

[A nod--and he pulled out his original note to show her. If nothing else, it would help him share his name and confirm her suspicion.]

[She leans forward slightly to read it, but doesn't take it. She doesn't want to make the man jumpy, especially if he is a criminal. The rest of the card seems to suggest he's a good man, though, and it matches hers so precisely (the card itself and the generic areas, anyway) that it's enough to push away a lot of her doubt.]

Arsene... [She doesn't know it, but she pronounces it perfectly, albeit with a slight Canadian accent. She can pronounce French, even if she doesn't understand it and doesn't remember that she can. Part of growing up in Ontario.]

[He shrugged. Apparently that was his name. He pulled a pencil out and quickly jotted a note down for her:]

do you have a name?

Erm... yes. Just a moment.

[She tugs her own card out of her own pocket to double-check, but she doesn't show it. She doesn't know Arsene well enough yet to know whether or not he can be trusted.]

Cayla. No last name, though.

[A nod--it was a nice name, although Lupin had no way to properly voice his opinion. It was why he was showing his card to people. There was little other choice without losing practicality and wasting unnecessary paper. His inability to speak felt inherently wrong, and it wasn't a feeling that he could easily shake...

But it was there, and it was something he had to deal with regardless of his beliefs.

Lupin offered a smile and a hand to shake to show his appreciation for meeting her. Company, of any sort, was always welcome.]

[She nods back and accepts the handshake with only the tiniest modicum of hesitation. He's a little suspicious... most of it is related to the silence, though, which is becoming conspicuous. It wouldn't make sense to not speak in this kind of situation; your cover was already blown. Unless...]

Can you not speak? Are you, er, mute? [She feels insensitive asking this, but she does want to know he's not just being rude.]

[He heaved a sigh and wrote another note:]

voice doesn't seem to work, but it doesn't feel normal.

Did you lose it? [Losing your voice seems familiar. But she doesn't think it was meant so literally.]

I hope you recover soon.

[Oh, hold the phone. He might be able to help her out.]

I hate to impose, but... do you know how to work the machines here?

[He nodded. It kind of felt like he had lost his voice, but he couldn't be certain with the encompassing emptiness that filled his mind. It bothered him...but there was no solution for now.

Another nod. Yes, he does know how to work the simulations. Lupin started off toward the simulation rooms with a gesture for her to follow.]

[She follows, with only the briefest of hesitations. He doesn't seem like trouble, but she's still a little skittish. It's hard to know how to judge character without memories.

It's not far to the room, although she hesitates again before following him in.]

So, this is where the... things happen? [She's not actually sure what this facility is for, now that she's here.]

[He nodded and cued up a random scenario for her--a setting for a summery pool party, in this case. The water really works too!]
