Where: Here. I like it here.
Summary: Well, it's complicated.
Rating: I can't remember

As requested, here's a second round of the log to help ease the first one from CAPTCHA land. Use this to set up new threads if you like!
spohkh: I dislike you... (Contempt)

[Spock looks around and does not see any other possible exit.... and he is not sure of the machine's ability at the moment to allow them to leave peaceably... But Spock knew that he could get them out of here if he had further access to the computer....]

Through the link....]

Do you think you could distract her if the need arisen?

[To Glados he said.....]

Indeed... Please reconsider. If not we'll be forced to look into alternate means of escaping this room.
haveiliedtoyou: (I'm sorry. Did you want something?)

[personal profile] haveiliedtoyou 2012-10-09 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
Unless your "alternate means" involve destruction of the consoles, go right ahead. I won't stop you at all. Really, do you think I'm such a terrible person that I'm trying to keep you in here? If I were, you two certainly wouldn't be just standing there.

It's much easier to break something than fix it. So if you two want to try breaking your way out, that might actually be productive. Meanwhile, I'll be over here. Fixing this. Because someone intelligent has to clean up your messes.

I can think of something...

[That grin was too confident as he stared at her for another tense moment before he broke contact and set about investigating the door. It was of a technological level that his instincts were unfamiliar with, but he suspected that some elements were always the same.

Every door had a means of opening, right?]
spohkh: (Seriously Working)

[personal profile] spohkh 2012-10-09 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Spock's eyes follow Arsene to see him start working the door...well, at least he seemed confident. And they were in-tuned enough with each other for him to intervene when the time came.

Spock sets his sights to the other consoles in the room. Of course they were all connected somehow to the mainframe... it was just a matter of getting into them without the use of his PADD...which is sitting innocently beside Glados...

Spock walks across the room to some mechanical panels and sets about removing them. It is indeed fortuitous that he's found out how strong he was... though he was going to have to replace some door-knobs when he returns home.

Spock is presented with a lot of wiring, lights and switches... fascinating. He starts to rummage and separate until he finds what he is looking fo...yes! There it is! Spock pulls a plug and...........

They are all completely plunged into darkness. The electricity has been disconnected, hopefully that is enough to power down Glados for the time being.]
haveiliedtoyou: (Oh. It's you again.)

[personal profile] haveiliedtoyou 2012-10-10 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
[ It probably would have been, but the Malnosso in their infinite (?) wisdom (??) don't have her hooked up to the Battle Dome for power. ]

... Alright. To your credit, I suppose I wasn't expecting this place to be so poorly designed that you'd be able to shutdown all power from over there. But to my credit, I did say to not destroy the consoles. And turning them off is a very thorough, if impermanent, destruction. So you might want to fix that. Right now.

[Lupin's hands guided him in the sudden black out even as GLaDOS issued her warning. He found a space where there was an airflow--and therefor an opening. His notepad, still handy, was shoved underneath the metal barrier in an attempt to wedge it open.

Keep talking, GLaDOS. Lupin may have found a means of escape.]
spohkh: (Seriously Working)

[personal profile] spohkh 2012-10-10 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
[Fascinating... it seems he could see fairly well in the dark... He felt like he knew that though. No matter...

Spock took advantage of the darkness to steal around the consoles quietly and get a hold of his PADD. He kept moving to the other side of the room, closer to Arsene...

Hopefully most of this went unnoticed by Glados... he still did not know his opinion of the machine...and it seemed to assume everyone, and everything, was dumb. Spock ducked behind another set of consoles and plugged in his PADD once more.... he put the red emergency lights back on and attempted to undo the security measures. An idle thought went through Spock's head as he started madly typing code on to the device....]

Arsene....I hope you're finding an alternate means for us to get out...
haveiliedtoyou: (Did you think that that would work?)

[personal profile] haveiliedtoyou 2012-10-10 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[ No such luck. Unfortunately for Spock, GLaDOS's infrared sensors catch everything within her field of view. ]

If you were looking to grab that thing, you could have just asked, you know. You didn't have to sneak around like that. I might have even said yes.

Well. I won't now.

So just turn the consoles back on so I can get you out of here. Do you really want to waste all of our times like this?
redjacketthief: (-glasses- plotting)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-10-10 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[Lupin was all ready on the alternative means even as the machine's lilting tone echoed amid the emergency lighting. The notebook he had was only a filler. He needed leverage...

His pencil, a simple little wooden thing, would have to do for the moment. All that he needed as enough space to fit his fingers under.]
spohkh: (Surprise)

[personal profile] spohkh 2012-10-11 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Spock felt like smacking himself on the head.... Of course she could see in the dark...though the advantage he had over Glados is that she had no apparent limbs in order to stop him.
He contemplated finding something to cover he with.... though as it was already they were in control... But there was still something about Glados that he didn't trust.

Spock quickly sets a program in to copy any files that are currently available and gets up to look around... there, in the corner.... a big tarp...

haveiliedtoyou: (There's always time for more testing.)

[personal profile] haveiliedtoyou 2012-10-12 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
You're not listening to me, are you? Well, have you at least thought about how you're going to spend the rest of eternity in here? Because I have.
redjacketthief: @ starkxravingxmad (complaining)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-10-12 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[Success was nigh--he could almost feel it. GLaDOS' words are summarily ignored when he realized that his pathetic little wedge had worked!

Lupin poked his finger tips underneath and tried to lift--and realized another problem

He still needed leverage.]
spohkh: (Action)

[personal profile] spohkh 2012-10-12 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Spock grabbed the tarp and went to gather his PADD once more...
There was a message flashing on his screen...

Nice Try! Did you really think it would be that easy?

[...curious. No matter. Spock clipped his PADD back to his belt and quietly tip-toed around the crates towards Glados...
It would seem her 'red eye was pointed the other direction...
Spock assumes that the machine's movements are rather limited so he thinks that putting the tarp over her head should be relatively easy.
With a burst of energy Spock rounds the corner and runs at Glados with the tarp out in front of him.]
haveiliedtoyou: (Did you think that that would work?)

[personal profile] haveiliedtoyou 2012-10-13 08:44 am (UTC)(link)
[ It's not fast enough to keep her from hearing and reacting. No sooner does he get close enough then she swings her head in Spock's direction in an attempt to catch him off-guard and hit him away before he can manage whatever it is he might be trying.

She may not be hanging, but she still has a decent amount of her mobility when it comes to moving her "head" area. ]

You two are really trying my patience...
redjacketthief: @ narben (pout-- stubbornface)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-10-13 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[Unfortunately for GLaDOS, Lupin was a very impatient man. Not even a lack of memories could change that core trait, nor the attendant determination to accomplish his goal.

He felt a subtle shift in the chassis when he lifted upward. The mechanism gave enough for Lupin to get a better grip and move the heavy door upward by a few inches before it jammed again.

It was barely an accomplishment.

Lupin pounded the side of his fist against the door in agitation, seeking both catharsis and Spock's assistance. He was going to need a hand here...]
spohkh: (I look up)

[personal profile] spohkh 2012-10-13 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[Assistance comes in the form of a airborne Vulcan....

The hit that Spock took from Glados was unexpected and rather strong.... and it propelled him through the air to come crashing into the door...making a rather large dent.]

Rubbing his back he looks at Arsene...]

My....m-my apologies. Did I hurt you? The door may be easier to get through now....
haveiliedtoyou: (I'm sorry. Did you want something?)

[personal profile] haveiliedtoyou 2012-10-15 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, look. You've made some progress. I should probably congratulate you, but I won't. That would mean I was being nice to you, but since you two aren't being particularly nice to me, I thought I'd return the favor. Fair's fair.
redjacketthief: @ starkxravingxmad (wtf-- wait a minute)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-10-15 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[that. look.

Lupin quickly shook his head--he was fine, but the possibility of the door being jammed even further was an unwanted annoyance. He could work with it, but it was going to be trickier.

Fair really was fair. He set back to work at hauling the door open. If only there were controls on the inside...]
spohkh: (You know I'm awesome)

[personal profile] spohkh 2012-10-15 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[Spock looks toward Glados...]

Indeed...fair is fair... We shall hopefully be out of your space momentarily.

[Spock could see what Arsene was attempting to do and moved to assist him. Spock stood by Lupin and grasped the edge of the door and gave a significant pull...

The door protested the move, but it left a gap... but not big enough for a person to get through. ]

More effort is needed it would seem...
haveiliedtoyou: (Oh. It's you again.)

[personal profile] haveiliedtoyou 2012-10-18 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I won't be providing that effort. After all, I've been against trying to do things the barbaric way this whole time.

You do realize that you've disabled this entire facility, correct? I think there is even a medical facility up there. A poor child is probably suffering right now because you turned off his life support. How are you even living with yourselves right now?
redjacketthief: (dunno if i got that)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-10-18 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
[The commentary gave Lupin pause, and he reached for Spock's hand again to communicate his thoughts.]

I saw no children in the facility, and only a few in town.
spohkh: (I kill you)

[personal profile] spohkh 2012-10-18 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Spock was struggling with the weight of the door when he addressed Glados, eyebrow raised and spoke in a rather mocking manner....]

Apparently there is a distinct lack of children around at this present time, so do not worry yourself. Also...the Malnosso seem to be in complete control of this facility and are observing us right now... I believe they are finding amusement in our efforts. Perhaps you would be inclined to help us with the door?

[Spock gave another heave at the door and it moved another inch.]
haveiliedtoyou: (Oh. It's you again.)

[personal profile] haveiliedtoyou 2012-10-21 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'd simply love to. No greater desire in the world, really.

I still can't do anything to assist with the power down. So either you fix that, or I won't be doing much helping at all. It's your choice. Feel free to take your time. After all, I can wait much longer than you can.
redjacketthief: (stealthy--on radio)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-10-21 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Lupin frowned, not certain that he should trust this computer, but he managed to swallow his uncertainties for just the moment. He tapped Spock's arm for attention and jerked his thumb at the consoles.

Go do it.]
spohkh: (Spock Will Choke A Bitch)

[personal profile] spohkh 2012-10-21 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
[Spock nods, lets go of the door and walks back toward the consoles.

He kneels and starts to rummage around with the wiring...

Spock lifts one hand to his head as if he is in slight pain... but shakes it off.

He connects the last wire....

There is a moments' pause before the lights start to flicker on and the gentle hum of power can be heard once more. But the clatter of the PADD can be heard as Spock doubles over, both hands clutching his head.]
