Halloween is once again descending on Luceti! There's a maze and some mists and some ghoulish visitors and all kinds of pranks. Oh, and the parties. Don't forget the parties. Or the candy. Man, those kids on the draft don't know what they're missing.

As a reminder:

Starting on the 28th (yesterday) and going until the 31st, strange thngs are happening in Luceti. This is for those who have stayed behind from the draft OR for those who have been safely evacuated from the draft after their requisite quarantine time.

Get lost in the maze! Get rid of the spiders and rats and bats! Eat candy! Try on costumes! Do stuff unrelated to these weird happenings!

Be pranked! Do pranks of your own (if you wanna take advantage of the great scapeghosts)! Go to their harvest festival party!

Most of all? Have a spooktacularly fun time.

[A startled yelp emanated from the pristine lobby of the Dome's facilities, followed by the telltale flomp of something very large and very soft crashing to the floor from a great height.

...The agitated cries suddenly went silent as they were replaced by the sounds of a man whining and complaining profusely.

Care to investigate?]

[Law carefully puts down the book he was pouring through, marks the page, and strides out...

... what on the great seas is he seeing here? Geez. :|]

[Wilhelmina has Lupin wrapped tightly in her tentacles so she can better nuzzle him without worrying about his escape. She pinned him to the ground unintentionally--she just wanted attention from her master!]

I know, Wil-chan. I know~ You're too big--[He struggled in her grasp.] I need a break sometimes!

[The squirming continued before he slid from the greatcoat he had chosen for his impromptu costume. He landed on the floor with an oof and snatched for his hat just seconds before Wilhelmina realized the trick--and he spotted Law.

Frustrated by her loss of this round of their 'game,' Wilhelmina let out a roaring squeak and flung the coat--

Lupin snatched it and pulled it back on as he dove for Law.]

Aaaahhh~~~ Help!

[He evaded the grasping tentacles by mere inches, but Wilhelmina was undeterred in her affections.]

[~~... he's stumbled onto a tentacle hentai scene, hasn't he? With no porn. More clothes. And absolute plush.~~

YEAH. DODGING NOW.]

What the hell is going on here?!

She thinks she's a puppy~~~~~~~~~~

[A puppy that was far too big. And far too fast. And far too sneaky. Lupin veered around too quickly and toppled over with a choked curse at the Malnosso, their penalties, and their twisted sense of humor. He skidded backward with his momentum and froze. Wilhelmina was too fast.

He was doomed to a hell of cuddling.

Another resounding squeak and Wilhelmina leapt...

...over the two of them and skittered off.]

That's some puppy!

[And the 'puppy' leaps... and scampers off. Huh. Well, not sticking around until she skitters back.]

[Lupin didn't want to either. He pulled himself back up and took a second to straighten his coat and gazed at Law with grave seriousness.]

We'll want to hide. Now.

This way.

[Right into the clinic and behind closed doors. Law is going straight through and then up the stairs to his office.]

[Lupin heaved a sign of relief at the assistance and carefully followed Law up the stairs. He had gotten the hang of things, but he still had to watch himself...]

Thanks. I...shouldn't have taught her how to play hide and seek.

... why did you teach her that?

[He's going to close the door behind them. One more barrier between them.

It's a very modest office, especially for a Head Doctor. The only touch of luxury is the comfortable office chair behind Law's desk. There are books everywhere. One large tome on the middle of the desk with a bookmark stuck in it.

Clearly Law's been hard at work researching something.]

[He groaned in frustration at the memory.]

It was the only way to get her to leave me alone.

[Lupin leaned back against the door heavily with a deep sigh of relief. His shoulders sagged as he found a moment, just a moment, of relief from her constant need for attention.]

Thanks...[He looked around at the pristine walls and the mess of books that were stacked around, and a slow smile formed on his face when he realized just how familiar a sight this was. His own rooms tended to get like this when he was in the middle of a job.]

Nice digs. Must be a great place to get away from everything.

It's one of my hideaways. [Aaaand he's going to flip open that book again.] I've got a couple around Luceti I can go to escape it all for awhile.

That's the best policy of all of them.

[An escape was an escape, and Lupin took advantage of the few quiet moments that Law had granted him. He peered around Law's shoulder, giving in to his proven-fatal curiosity.]

This is an accounting of a viral outbreak on one of the Earths. It's a rage virus that caused those infected to turn on each other and the uninfected.

[It is not the virus on the draft but it shares a few things. Notably, extreme aggression.]

[Lupin knew very little about the state of affairs out in the field. All he knew was Spock's silent fear and one chilling admission...'creatures.']

It souds almost like a horror film.

Please tell me that your window is squid-proof.

It's transparent metal of some kind. If plush can get through, I'll be impressed.

[--Law said as Wilhelmina started to press her face against the 'transparent metal.']

[Law's just going to sit down and grab his book.

Peer and press away, Wil. It's not budging.]

... might want to make yourself comfortable. Think she'll be hanging around for awhile.
