Halloween is once again descending on Luceti! There's a maze and some mists and some ghoulish visitors and all kinds of pranks. Oh, and the parties. Don't forget the parties. Or the candy. Man, those kids on the draft don't know what they're missing.

As a reminder:

Starting on the 28th (yesterday) and going until the 31st, strange thngs are happening in Luceti. This is for those who have stayed behind from the draft OR for those who have been safely evacuated from the draft after their requisite quarantine time.

Get lost in the maze! Get rid of the spiders and rats and bats! Eat candy! Try on costumes! Do stuff unrelated to these weird happenings!

Be pranked! Do pranks of your own (if you wanna take advantage of the great scapeghosts)! Go to their harvest festival party!

Most of all? Have a spooktacularly fun time.

[Pils gets to her feet as well, still trying to get the pumpkin remnants out of her hair.]

Um, thanks again for helping me out with that! If I hadn't run into you, I probably would have seen stuck walking around this place forev-

Nope! I was messing with you the whole time. [smile!]

I thought for sure that you'd find me out when I grabbed the pumpkin though, considering ghosts can't really do that...

That like, totally wasn't funny! Geez, you had me totally scared to death at first!

And ghosts put that thing on my head in the first place so, I totally thought that...well...! Besides! Haven't you ever heard stories of haunted houses and stuff where furniture and junk just moves on its own?! Ghosts can totally do stuff like that! It's like, the super scariest!

[Sorry, Pilouette, she's still grinning. She never could pass up a good prank...]

Not really. I can think of scarier things. Besides, there's probably some kind of spell out there that could move things around like that.

I guess...? I mean, I don't really know a lot about magic and stuff. And of course there are scarier things! But ghosts are like, totally up with the scariest of them! Don't tell me you haven't been freaked out with all these ghosts and junk around!

[raises an eyebrow.]

Okay then, I won't tell you. Besides, there's no way I'm going to admit to something like that! I've got my pride to think about here.

You won't admit it...? So you're at least a little bit scared, right?

What? No way! That's not what I meant at all! All I'm saying is if I was scared--which I'm not--I certainly wouldn't say anything about it!

Oh...[She giggles just a little.] Like, I get it.

[She takes a quick glance around.]

I wonder how big this maze is anyway...?

I don't know, but there's an exit somewhere so I don't care how big it is!

[Was that positive thinking or just her pride acting up again? Who knows.]

I know there's an exit, but the problem is how long will it take to find it?! It might not even be like, a regular maze! It wasn't even here before was it?

No, but worrying about that kind of thing isn't going to help us get out any faster. Let's just try the ol' left hand trick and see what happens before we start panicking, alright?

[After all, she wouldn't be much of a Dream Chaser if she couldn't even get out of a maze.]

Oh! Of course! That's a great idea!

...What's the left hand trick?

It's a way to get out of most mazes! [holds her hand up to the left wall.] All you have to do is follow the left wall and you'll find the way out sooner or later. Easy, right?

Ah! Right, right! That like, totally makes sense! I never would have thought of that...! Like, do you get lost in mazes a lot or what?

[pfffffft--] I don't get lost! I've just got a healthy sense of adventure, that's all!

So, like you just like to wander around or what? I guess I can understand that. But I'd rather wander around a mall or something than a maze.

Oh! Um. I'm Pils, by the way.

[Oh boy, now she was definitely pouting. She certainly didn't think it was just wandering around!]

"Pils"? That's a weird name... Is it supposed to be short for something?

[Hey, Jane? Ouch. Pils frowns a bit. If she thought her nickname was weird...]

Uh, y-yeah. Um, it's short for Pilouette.

...Pilouette? [nodnod.] I get it. That sounds way more like a name.

I'm Jane, by the way.

I guess so, but...you really don't think it sounds weird?

[No matter how many people think her name is okay, she still can't quite get over it. But she offers a polite nod.]

Um, nice to meet you. So, like, is this your first dose of weirdness in this place or...?

[She shook her head. Part of that had to do with hearing her nicknames as the word "pills".]

No, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I don't like the idea of getting so used to this place that I just shrug off everything!

[And off she went with her hand against the maze wall.]

[And Pilouette follows behind. It's kind of nice to know that there's someone else who finds the idea of getting used to all the Malnosso's shenanigans distasteful.]

Like, I know, right?! Finding all this stuff kinda normal is like, kind of a scary thought, isn't it? I mean, I don't think I ever could get used to it all, but...

[looks over her shoulder.]

But there's a possibility. Is that what you were going to say? Because if it is, that makes it more about willpower than anything else, doesn't it?
