EVENT LOG: SCAVENGER HUNT

Who: All you scavenger hunters!
What: Scavenging and other fantabulousness, I suppose.
When: November 24th to 28th
Where: The whole village! And yet also all over time and space...
Summary: See this post for more info.
Rating: P for Points! (Keep it PGish, folks. Anything worthy of a higher rating can be brought to your appointments posts.)

As announced by CJ, the village's immediate environs are divided up according to this map. There are five areas: the Nile, Ice Age, Space Opera, Shogunate, and Gangland. Time-and-place appropriate architecture and conjured up NPCs exist in each area.

Don't forget the scavenger hunt! While actually finding things is ultimatly optional, you can find more information on the hunt here. If you want to claim a reward from the hunt, be sure to link at least two related threads on the new rewards claims post.

Finally, here's a quick rundown of the objects:
- In THE NILE: A ceremonial dagger and a piece of Pharoah's treasure
- In GANGLAND: A tommy gun and a set of car keys
- In ICE AGE: A bone spear and a smilodon's tooth
- In SPACE OPERA: a raygun and part of a robot
- In SHOGUNATE: a samurai sword and water from a kappa's head

Happy hunting!

[And he thought he was onto something. Well then... there must be a reason why it's a mirror rather than plain glass.]

I suppose he will have to look into the mirror for some reason. [And he would see... what? The table and the featureless room. Why a table to begin with?]

He looked into the mirror and saw the table... [He tilts his head and closes his eyes in thought. He's more or less talking to himself at this point.]
silversnowfall: (oh really?)

[Good, because if his eyes are closed he can't see her momentary look of amusement. Already onto it, is he?]

Please, take your time.

[He might pace if it wouldn't be rude to suddenly leave the table.]

Saw the table... in half? [That's a bit of a stretch. Unless the table was in halves to begin with? That would be a tricky bit of wordplay. In any case, if that were true, what possibilities would that open up? With two halves of a table, you could stack them, piece them to make a box... place them on different sides of the room? Or make table shoes, ah ha ha.

Focus, Hershel. Two table halves...]

He could take the two halves of the table. Then put them together...
reminded: (Correct!)

... because two halves make a whole. More specifically, a hole to escape through!
silversnowfall: (smile)

[A smile and polite applause follow his correct guess.]

I should have known better than to challenge you this way, shouldn't I?
reminded: (I have it!)

[Oh, she mustn't let it go to his head.]

Not at all. I really had to gather my wits for that one. You've left my mind feeling rather ex-saw-sted. Ha ha ha!
