EVENT LOG: SCAVENGER HUNT

Who: All you scavenger hunters!
What: Scavenging and other fantabulousness, I suppose.
When: November 24th to 28th
Where: The whole village! And yet also all over time and space...

As announced by CJ, the village's immediate environs are divided up according to this map. There are five areas: the Nile, Ice Age, Space Opera, Shogunate, and Gangland. Time-and-place appropriate architecture and conjured up NPCs exist in each area.

Don't forget the scavenger hunt! While actually finding things is ultimatly optional, you can find more information on the hunt here. If you want to claim a reward from the hunt, be sure to link at least two related threads on the new rewards claims post.

Finally, here's a quick rundown of the objects:
- In THE NILE: A ceremonial dagger and a piece of Pharoah's treasure
- In GANGLAND: A tommy gun and a set of car keys
- In ICE AGE: A bone spear and a smilodon's tooth
- In SPACE OPERA: a raygun and part of a robot
- In SHOGUNATE: a samurai sword and water from a kappa's head

[ Ikki herself is just exploring the new terrain, Soren a constant onlooker overhead. ...Well, exploring and leaving the terrain dotted with snowmen of varying skill and size, but hey, she's a child and this is basically her job.

She doesn't notice Mr. Kitty first, no, but Soren does, and shrills a warning, causing Ikki to whirl, her hands going up defensively, prepared to bend. ]

[Mr. Kitty lumbers upon the child, his ears perking up at the cry from overhead. Miyabi, too, hears the call and spots the child from her higher vantage point on the massive wildcat's back. Quickly, she sets a hand on Mr. Kitty's head to try and calm him down. That looks like a kid...or a very small or faraway person. No need to get growly.]

Wait. ...Hello over there! You can come near, you have my word that he won't do anything bad.

[ ...Hey, that voice sounds familiar...Ikki looks around, straightening, and finally spots Miyabi. She lights up instantly, waving at Soren that everything is okay. ]

Miyabi!! Hiya! [ It's been a while since the last art club meeting, so she's honestly pretty happy to see the other girl. ] Are you friends with him???

[Oh, it's that adorable child from the Art Club! Ah...her name was...Ikki, wasn't it? Miyabi beams right down at her, giving a small wave hello. Mr. Kitty, however, is still looking a bit stiff, and eyeing both child and bird warily, but after a soft pat on the head from his rider, and a scratch under his chin, he relaxes some.]

Oh, yes, I met him just a short while ago. I can understand some animals if I listen closely, so I helped him with a problem he was having and we became friends. [She indicates the fact that he's missing one of his long, sharp, pointy teeth.] One of his teeth was badly damaged and no good anymore, so I helped remove it. What are you doing out here? It's dangerous to be in this place alone...

[ Soren, for his part, will just land down by Ikki, just in case he has to grab her and go or something. ]

Me? I'm just building some snowmen. And I'm not alone! Soren's here. And I promised not to go too far into the snow area...'sides, I'm friends with some of the village people!

Building snowmen? [And here's where she finally takes a real look around, and spots the line of snowmen dotting the scenery. Immediately, Miyabi begins to laugh - Ikki, you're really, really cute. You remind her so much of the Oina children right now.] Ehehehee! So you have! They're very good! Have you tried to roll a snowball, yet? Make it the biggest you can!

[Wait, she shouldn't be encouraging wandering in a dangerous, icy tundra.] Ah, no! You should still get to a warmer place! If you're out too long, your strength will fade and you could be in trouble! A land of ice and snow isn't just a fun place to play!

Yeah, I can launch 'em pretty far if I bend air, too!! But there's no one to really have a snowball fight with, y'know? Most people are doing the scavenger hunt!

[ ...Well, probably she shouldn't. Ikki glances back at her snowmen, then at Soren, and shrugs. ] Ah, I can go back to the place with all the suit people, I guess. I've been out here a while...

[Bend...air? How does one bend air? Miyabi's eyebrows knit together in confusion, but she doesn't voice her thoughts just yet. A snowball fight would be really fun...and if she can stay with Ikki herself to keep an eye out for her...that'd be best. Plus, if she asks her new furry friend to also be on the lookout and keep others like him away, that'd be good, too. It may actually be safer here than in that place with the suits and guns.]

Eh, wait. If you like it here, you can stay. If you don't mind me accompanying you for a little bit, that is; I'd feel awful if something happened to you here while I could have prevented it. ...And I do still have to find one of the scavenger hunt items here, too - do you think you could help me? Please? You're a very clever girl.

Which scavenger hunt item are you looking for? And of course I don't mind!!

[ She starts over towards Miyabi, anyway, trusting completely that Mr. Cat is under her control; Soren, seeing Ikki's on the move again, takes off to circle overhead. ]

Thank you very much! I just need the bone spear last, since my friend here gave me his tooth after I helped him pull it. [Miyabi pats Mr. Kitty's head, who gives an appreciative chuffing sound and bumps her hand with his nose.] He's been helping me look for the warrior people that carry the spears, and I'm sure he'll let you ride him, too.

Won't you? [Mr. Kitty gives his rider a look, then down at the tiny child, and lowers himself so she can clamber on. There should be more than enough room for a little bite like that to come on. Heck, both the girls were relatively puny and lightweight, to be frank.]

Oh, that shouldn't be too hard! They're pretty nice. I mean, I've spoken to one or two of them, with grandpa. [ Although she's not sure how they'd take a sudden Mr. Kitty visit, come to think of it. But Miyabi's probably aware of that!

...And wow, she could not look more enthused about this. Riding animals is practically a family requirement, and at seven years old of course there's nothing cooler than riding a giant cat. Ikki's going to bounce over and get on carefully - she is very light, particularly when it comes to getting on and keeping her balance. ]

Have you?! That's good, maybe you could help me get one of their bone spears. I'd be more than happy to offer them a trade...

[Despite not having much on her at the moment. But she's sure she can find something...m-maybe. Heck, maybe even a bit of fire or a display of magic from Miyabi's brush skills. Hopefully that would work to her benefit. And Mr. Kitty knows better than to get too close to the strange people with their pointy sticks. Too many of his kin have been killed by those people for his liking, thanks. He'll go as close as he feels is safe, then the girl got to rough it for the rest of the hike.

Miyabi helps Ikki up, moving forward on the large carnivore so she has more room to sit. Once she is seated and comfortable, Miyabi pats Mr. Kitty on the head, mutters something into his ear, and he stands up on all fours.]

Hang on, we're going to start moving now, and not slowly, either! [Nope, they'll be starting off at a trot, which then becomes a brisk run after a few minutes.]

Sure! I don't mind helping out. Whaddaya have to trade? Oh, and we shouldn't take Mr. Kitty too close, 'cause they sort of, um, eat people like him.

[ Ikki does hang on, and she's pretty used to riding big animals, so she keeps her seat pretty easily. ]
