EVENT LOG: SCAVENGER HUNT

Who: All you scavenger hunters!
What: Scavenging and other fantabulousness, I suppose.
When: November 24th to 28th
Where: The whole village! And yet also all over time and space...

As announced by CJ, the village's immediate environs are divided up according to this map. There are five areas: the Nile, Ice Age, Space Opera, Shogunate, and Gangland. Time-and-place appropriate architecture and conjured up NPCs exist in each area.

Don't forget the scavenger hunt! While actually finding things is ultimatly optional, you can find more information on the hunt here. If you want to claim a reward from the hunt, be sure to link at least two related threads on the new rewards claims post.

Finally, here's a quick rundown of the objects:
- In THE NILE: A ceremonial dagger and a piece of Pharoah's treasure
- In GANGLAND: A tommy gun and a set of car keys
- In ICE AGE: A bone spear and a smilodon's tooth
- In SPACE OPERA: a raygun and part of a robot
- In SHOGUNATE: a samurai sword and water from a kappa's head

[He couldn't tell if they were hostile or not from this distance. Another motion, this time to follow.]

Watch where you're going. This could get messy.

I won't move recklessly. [That's a promise; one she's made, in different worlds, a couple times now. She picks up a slightly sharp stone from the ground.

[He smirked; good girl.

He guided them along the passage until he they drew near the flickering shadows and lights. There was a rabble of voices, but he couldn't fully understand the object of conversation over the din. There were too many voices--

They would have to play recklessly to learn anything.

The group didn't notice them as they approached. They were too deep in their discussion around the fire. Lupin, glad for that grace, heaved a sigh in relief and 'accidentally' leaned against a boulder to catch his breath--mindful of the fragility of it's base.

It took more pressure to move than he realized...but it fell sideways with an almost deafening crash.]

[That certainly got the attention of the people at the fire, who immediately spun around to see what had caused the crash. Ami shot Lupin a quick look; was he sure he knew what he was doing?]

[He flashed her a grin in reply. No worries. He had it under control.

Lupin lifted his hands in the air in an open show that he wouldn't resist, but took a few steps closer.]

Hi, guys. It's pretty cold out, isn't it?

[Ami was prepared to take cues, but she needed to figure out exactly what Lupin was doing first; so she held back, taking note of the people in front of them instead: their ages, which seemed more aggressive or stronger, which seemed to be making the decisions for the group.]

[The man in charge stepped forward at Lupin's cheerful reply, not overtly hostile despite the bone spear that was held in his hand. He demanded to know why they were there.]

My girl and I got a little cold outside. Care to share a rock by the fire?

[Ami plays along immediately. She's quick on her feet, evidently.]

If it isn't too much trouble. We'd appreciate your hospitality very much.

[Very good girl. Lupin would treat her to tea later for this--for all that matters of payment amount to in Luceti.

Their chief grumbled a reply before he motioned for them to follow, and his grudging acceptance of the circumstances was evident in his manner. He would tolerate them. For now.]

We humbly thank you for your assistance.

[The words were spoken with a gravity that was almost too heavy. Lupin followed this with a short bow before he looked at Ami.]

Looks like we're clear for a bit.

[Ami manages a not-unfeigned smile of gratitude for the chief.]
