EVENT LOG: SCAVENGER HUNT

Who: All you scavenger hunters!
What: Scavenging and other fantabulousness, I suppose.
When: November 24th to 28th
Where: The whole village! And yet also all over time and space...

As announced by CJ, the village's immediate environs are divided up according to this map. There are five areas: the Nile, Ice Age, Space Opera, Shogunate, and Gangland. Time-and-place appropriate architecture and conjured up NPCs exist in each area.

Don't forget the scavenger hunt! While actually finding things is ultimatly optional, you can find more information on the hunt here. If you want to claim a reward from the hunt, be sure to link at least two related threads on the new rewards claims post.

Finally, here's a quick rundown of the objects:
- In THE NILE: A ceremonial dagger and a piece of Pharoah's treasure
- In GANGLAND: A tommy gun and a set of car keys
- In ICE AGE: A bone spear and a smilodon's tooth
- In SPACE OPERA: a raygun and part of a robot
- In SHOGUNATE: a samurai sword and water from a kappa's head

[The 'path to Minato's house' is relative, considering it's been reduced to a series of cave entrances. It would have been hard for Akihiko to figure out which cave was actually his former leader's, if he weren't already outside of it. Koromaru perks up and barks a greeting, causing Minato to turn towards Akihiko as well.]

[thunderfists]

[He smiles a bit at Koromaru's familiar bark, continuing until he's closer to the two.]

Not exactly what I thought I'd be waking up to.

[Oh hi, Senpai. He didn't even recognize you until you spoke... the furs blend in with the environment, and the white hair with the snowy conditions.]

At least they gave some warning.

[Even if it wasn't a very good warning.] But I don't really want to hang out here too long.

[thunderfists]

[Just wait until a really bad snowstorm kicks up and they really start resembling the animals they're wearing at the moment.]

Some warning...

I don't want to hang around here, either. Is there anything worth grabbing in your place? [His own house is ... uh, completely transformed.]

...I found a spear.

[Which he picks up from where he'd leaned it against a rock. He thinks maybe it was his sword, at one point in time...

His Evoker is... a slingshot, and he's not sure how he's supposed to use it anymore.]

I've got ... a sharpened rock. [From his fur belt, he pulls out a rock that is probably half a foot long at best. The rock has been chipped and sharpened on one end to resemble a dagger. It may have been his survival knife, but he's not entirely sure.]

So how's your skill with a spear? [Under different circumstances, he might have been a little more amused. But it's cold and he hasn't had anything to start out his day at all.]

Not as good as Ken-kun's.

[It's been a long time since he tried out anything but a sword.]

...Do you really need the rock? [Akihiko you're a boxer, fists are the same in any era.]

[thunderfists]

...Not really. [He glances at the stone dagger for a moment longer, then crouches slightly and offers the weapon to Koromaru.] You think you can use this, boy?

[Hey, someone should arm the dog, right?]

[emp3thy]

[Koromaru wags his tail furiously and snaps up the 'knife,' then spends the next few minutes trying to use it effectively.]

I wonder if that's really better than his teeth.

[thunderfists]

It gives him a little more reach and maneuverability. [Akihiko watches Koromaru practice, then stands to continue talking to Minato.] But I'm not even sure he'll need it. Does the village become more hostile during these experiments?

Well... it depends on the experiment? [.....] I don't really remember any that changed things this much.

[thunderfists]

So this is something new, even for you. [It seemed like a good idea to use Minato's experiences as a measurement for the oddities in Luceti, so...] I do remember something being said about an ethical inspection.

[He briefly feels around for where he latched his journal to his belt.]

It's ridiculous.

[When Minato says something like that so flatly, it's pretty clear he's means it. 'Ethical inspection' is obviously a farce.]

They said they'd reward us for finding items, though.
