EVENT LOG: SCAVENGER HUNT

Who: All you scavenger hunters!
What: Scavenging and other fantabulousness, I suppose.
When: November 24th to 28th
Where: The whole village! And yet also all over time and space...

As announced by CJ, the village's immediate environs are divided up according to this map. There are five areas: the Nile, Ice Age, Space Opera, Shogunate, and Gangland. Time-and-place appropriate architecture and conjured up NPCs exist in each area.

Don't forget the scavenger hunt! While actually finding things is ultimatly optional, you can find more information on the hunt here. If you want to claim a reward from the hunt, be sure to link at least two related threads on the new rewards claims post.

Finally, here's a quick rundown of the objects:
- In THE NILE: A ceremonial dagger and a piece of Pharoah's treasure
- In GANGLAND: A tommy gun and a set of car keys
- In ICE AGE: A bone spear and a smilodon's tooth
- In SPACE OPERA: a raygun and part of a robot
- In SHOGUNATE: a samurai sword and water from a kappa's head

[Saori doesn't seem to be noticing Don's strategy, so he must be playing pretty sneakily.]

Almost three years.

That's quite a while.

[She places another stone, springing the trap and taking a huge number of his stones. Sometimes the old ways work best.]

And where are you from, originally?

[i_speak_softly]

[Don misses the question, too busy trying to figure out how he just lost so many pieces.]

[She points out what she did]

It's an old trap I learned many years ago.

[i_speak_softly]

[Don stares at the board a moment longer, then pushes away his bowl of stones.]

Yame. I resign.

[windandrain]

Are you sure? I didn't mean to play meanly.

[i_speak_softly]

It's fine. I probably would have missed that even if I wasn't out of practice.

[He starts cleaning up the pieces.]

[windandrain]

If you're sure. We should play again soon, so you can get some practice.

[i_speak_softly]

Will you teach me some of your strategies?

[windandrain]

I can, if you want. I've been teaching a few other people how to play here.

[i_speak_softly]

[He laughs a little.] I can always use more lessons on things.

[windandrain]

We all can. Everyone has things to learn, even me. [She smiles back]

[i_speak_softly]

[His expression turns serious again.]

By the way, Saori... if the weather gives you trouble, you're always welcome to use my insulated room. I wouldn't mind having someone to share it with.

[windandrain]

Insulated room? [She thinks for a moment] Oh, right, you've got cold blood.

Usually I'm fine, this body is human in most ways. I just don't like cold weather, it doesn't affect me one way or the other.

But I'll certainly keep that in mind. There are particular parts of winter that do force me to stay indoors. It can be quite difficult.

[A sigh of sympathy.] You can always reach me on the journals too. Maybe we can figure out a way to play invisible go.

Well, there are video feeds. And writing feeds. I'm sure we can come up with something. And I can always visit.
