Miracle on Luceti Street.

Who: Everybody! (Mostly.)
What: IT'S CHRISTMAS OR SOMETHING.
When: The 19th through the 25th. Feel free to backdate and forwarddate and everydate as you please.
Where: All over the village!
Summary: It's a wintertime jamboree. Go ice skating. Hand out gifts to those you love. (Or want to prank, as the case may be.) Deal with meddling, creepy elves. Kiss a lot of people. It'll be good. Except for the parts where it'll be awkward. But that's what we're here for, isn't it?
Rating: Anywhere from PG to R, I imagine. If you need to play out sexytimes, please either fade to black and take it elsewhere or CLEARLY mark the thread in the subject line. (The former is preferable, but not strictly necessary.)

This is your event catch-all log! Sorry it's a bit late in going up. All you really need to do is mention in your subject line what date(s) it is, so folks know if they're dealing with mistletoe or not. Feel free to set up multiple scenarios, of course. Also, as always, tag your characters!

Here is your event info, and feel free to continue asking questions there if necessary. Now go and make merry!

[He stands patiently as she sputters, expression mild, eyebrow raised slightly. All right, this is a bit funny, even if he finds it insulting that someone thinks getting a kiss from him is that terrible a fate. He hasn't even killed anyone Jane liked that recently.

He tilts his head.]

In my experience, kissing is actually a singularly un-complicated process.

[ Her mouth pulls into a line and her expression goes a bit flat. ]

I know that.

[ She considers him, again, in silence.

She could not be blamed for this. He is not responsible, but neither is she. Well, he could be lying, but it would cost him dearly to lie to her since it would be easy enough to find out one way or the other if he was causing it -- he'd be unlikely to risk it. Especially after their last conversation.

She isn't supposed to like him. She isn't supposed to want it or even consider it! She isn't supposed to be finding reasons to justify this moment. He murdered Coulson. He's killed dozens if not hundreds of people simply because he could. Because he felt driven and refused to consider another way. Believed, blindly, that there was no other way.

He has manipulated her. Preyed on her feelings, on her desire to do the right thing.

He saved her life. He saved many lives.

He did it for personal gain. He did it to save face! He did it to save his own life. He did it, possibly, to save those he won't admit he cares about.

What had she decided? About giving him that piece of a person he requires? That piece of humanity he obviously needs to cling to? How can he change if she continues to simultaneously insist that there is no changing a monster? How can any of them wish to stop his madness if all they ever insist upon is Loki continuing to be mad?

She likes him. She shouldn't. The man she likes probably isn't even real. Just an illusion, a facade created just for her to lure her in. He is the Trickster. He can't be trusted.

God, he was so heartrendingly sincere looking into her eyes and whispering, wishing so dearly that all could be different, could be right. ]

Fine. [ She murmurs, quietly, to herself. ] Fine.

[ Her hands move, reaching to cup his face as she surges up and presses her lips to his, hard and insistent. Jane Foster does not do things by halves. ]

[He'd been expecting a lot of things, most likely more hemming and hawing and then he could tease her a bit and if he felt somewhat merciful let her off with a kiss on the cheek. He hadn't been expecting that he would be the one getting kissed, as opposed to the one doing the kissing. This is not something that happens in his world at all often, and particularly not recently.

His eyebrows go up and he makes a small, surprised noise, and actually leans back slightly, an automatic reaction of shock. His hands go up defensively. He'd expect a bit more wordplay before they got to this point.

But there is something about it that he really, really likes. Feisty women. Aggressive women. They'll be the death of him, but it'll be a happy, satisfied death when it happens. Aggressive isn't a word he'd normally associate with Jane, but it seems she has it in her, and he can't help but like it.

The surprise only last a split second and then he does respond, threading the fingers of one hand through her hair, leaning in, and kissing her deeply in return.

He's always been a better kisser than his brother, than Thor. Some small part of him takes pleasure in getting to win that contest on this particular battlefield. At least there are some ways he gets to win, and this is a pleasant one.]

[ She doesn't have time to register his shock before he's kissing her back. Jane really, truly believed she had mentally prepared herself for that moment when he would inevitably respond, but in no world could she ever actually be ready for it. His hand in her hair and the movement of his lips on hers actually sends a shiver rushing through her, goosebumps rising on every available inch of skin.

There is always something tantalizing about the forbidden.

God. She had thought about it. And it takes all of her strength not to melt into him like she desperately wants to. It is a physical effort to resist going a bit weak in the knees.

But the signals are there in her body language, however subtle she is trying to force them to be. This is not an unwilling kiss. Far from it.

Still, it is not a thing she can sustain forever, and she slowly breaks off from him, lingering close for just a moment before she drops her head down. Her breathing comes a bit heavily, and she does not say a word. ]

[He doesn't try to keep her any longer or pull her closer, though his hand lingers in her hair for a moment.

This didn't go as expected. He needs to think about this. But he does allow himself a bit of smug satisfaction, knowing that he's gotten to her.

Loki leans down and places a light kiss on the top of her head, then lets his fingers slide slowly away.

Expression and voice are calm and in control, if a bit thoughtful when he speaks.]
Remember. Do check the mathematics section.

[ It's the kiss to the top of her head that does it. Her eyes flick up to meet his, and they are wide and white and wet.

Yes, wet. Her eyes are brimming with tears. Jane can be hard and fierce and stubborn but she is also prone to moments of high emotion, moments of vulnerability. She hates to be vulnerable. They are not so different, that way. She is not given to sharing her problems with others. She is not given to being very open about herself, period. And Loki has gotten more from her than she wants to begin to admit, to think about.

Then it's that comment. It strikes her as at once affectionate and condescending. As if he understands her so well. As if he is this patient knowing figure, able to gently chastise her and send her on the correct path.

She feels like a child. She feels small and extremely foolish.

Jane bolts. She just runs, far and fast as her legs can carry her, as what natural speed God gave her will allow. Because she can't stand looking at him and hearing that warm knowing in his voice for even a single second longer.

She knows that she could not actually outrun him unless he wanted to ler her. That does not stop her from trying.

She will not be returning to the library for a while. ]

[Part of him likes it that he sent her fleeing. He does like being able to drive people away when it suits him, knowing that he has that much control over someone else.

But part of him hates it. It feels like some sort of deep criticism of him in a way he can't define, and it actually stings a bit, which is a problem all its own.

Loki frowns. Even if she is frustrating at times, somewhere along the way she went from being that annoying mortal to his annoying mortal, and he tries not to think about that too hard either.

He continues on his way. Well, he's patient. He'll wait and see.]
