Summary: It's a wintertime jamboree. Go ice skating. Hand out gifts to those you love. (Or want to prank, as the case may be.) Deal with meddling, creepy elves. Kiss a lot of people. It'll be good. Except for the parts where it'll be awkward. But that's what we're here for, isn't it?
Rating: Anywhere from PG to R, I imagine. If you need to play out sexytimes, please either fade to black and take it elsewhere or CLEARLY mark the thread in the subject line. (The former is preferable, but not strictly necessary.)

Well. I still think Pauline would be a nice name to have, but...a while ago, someone said my real name sounded kind of...fancy.

I mean, my name still kind of bugs me, knowing where it came from, but it got me thinking that maybe if I start dressing fancier or something, maybe I could start making a whole new impression on people!

[Pilouette claps a hand over her mouth. She hadn't meant to say that. If she had just had a weird name, it wouldn't have been so bad, but the origin of said name was why she spent a good portion of her life hating it. She glances around nervously.]

I mean that...it's like...um...

It's not just that my name is weird but...see...

[Now that she's said it she can't decide if she should tell him or not.]

[She frowns a little, unsure that Kyon is really appreciating how serious this is. Or how serious she thinks it is. She leans forward a little, lowering her voice to a hiss.]

Hey! Like, I am not joking here! Do you even get that?!

I do get it. Serious business. Come on, Pilouette, pie is very serious in my world. Could you be a little more sensitive?

[She's giving you the frowniest frown right now Kyon. After a moment she glances off to the side, before speaking.]

[Halfway through she trails off into a quiet mumble.]

[She lets out a quiet sigh, as if just thinking about this is irritating.]

He probably does miss her, but he didn't name me.

Yeah. Someone who doesn't know how to take a joke! From what I heard, Daddy suggested it, but he wasn't serious! Who can even think something like that is a totally serious suggestion?! But, oh no, it's fine! She though it would be a fine name after even Daddy told her it was a joke!

[The more she talks about it, the angrier she gets and the angrier she gets, the louder she gets.]

[For the second time in one conversation, Pilouette realizes that she's say waaay more than she meant to, especially considering where the conversation has gone. Forcing a nervous kind of smile, she's going to do her best to salvage this.]

O-Oh...! Uh! Gee! I, um, didn't mean to like, be a total downer! I-If you want, you can just like, forget all of that!

... How am I supposed to forget now? You might as well just come out with the whole thing at this point.

[She hates to admit it, but he's right. She frowns a little bit, crossing her arms, her posture becoming a little more closed up.]

Like I was saying, I can't really call her my mom anymore. Not that I really want to, anyway. After my parents got divorced...well...

[She sighs. She doesn't really like dumping all this stuff all over someone like this, but since she already let part of it slip, well...]

She chose her job over me. I haven't seen her since then. Not that it matters, I guess. We weren't really close or anything.
