Summary: It's a wintertime jamboree. Go ice skating. Hand out gifts to those you love. (Or want to prank, as the case may be.) Deal with meddling, creepy elves. Kiss a lot of people. It'll be good. Except for the parts where it'll be awkward. But that's what we're here for, isn't it?
Rating: Anywhere from PG to R, I imagine. If you need to play out sexytimes, please either fade to black and take it elsewhere or CLEARLY mark the thread in the subject line. (The former is preferable, but not strictly necessary.)

Oh, well... this isn't the first time I've walked under a mistletoe today.

[And he's not really thinking through that mentioning this is probably not the best idea he's had all day.]

[Because it is! It totally is. It's not like Ion had a choice in it, with all the experiments and all. He'd have no problem if she had to kiss other people too, would he? Besides, she has already, although it was only a peck to the cheek...]

[Still she hesitates, indecisive. Ion's been through this before, so, it's probably no big deal for him, right? But even though they're being forced to, Anise still wants their first kiss to be something special, although she tells herself it's silly to think that way.]

[Heart fluttering, she inches a little closer, her cheeks and ears flushed as well.]

I- I really don't know what I'm doing. [Her voice is very small, the admittance reluctant. She trusts Ion not to laugh at her, but she's still weirdly nervous that she's going to disappoint him.]

[Ion can feel his face heating up as Anise starts to lean in closer, and all at once it hits him that this is actually happening. He was going to kiss Anise... Anise...!!]

[He can't do this.]

[Kissing Anise should be something special. Not something he has to do just to be free of a silly mistletoe. Not to mention his current state of mind... no. It just wouldn't be right.]

[But maybe...]

...Anise. Close your eyes for a minute.

[failguardian]

Huh? Okay.

[She's kind of glad to actually; looking at Ion feels really awkward, so she shuts her eyes firmly. Ion knows more about what he's doing, as weird as that thought is. She always thought she'd be the one to "grow up" earlier, with the Fon Master's naivete.]

[But as soon as she shuts her eyes, Anise starts regretting it. It's corny, but she wants to look at Ion, but she had agreed to close her eyes...Surely a peek wouldn't hurt? She tries to open her eyes discreetly to a little slit, making her eyelashes flutter and her face scrunch up.]

[distressedude]

[With her eyes closed, that would make this easier. For all that he supposedly knows about what he's doing, he really doesn't know anything at all. But one of the few things he does know and understand is that a kiss is special. And when you kiss someone like Anise...]

[He leans in, reaching up a hand to tilt her chin before brushing it up past her cheek, gently sweeping away her hair before kissing her forehead.]

[And just like that, the hold that the mistletoe had over them is gone.]

[But... he can't bring himself to step back yet. This isn't the first time he's kissed Anise like this, even if this Anise wouldn't remember it. A bittersweet memory that, for a moment, shows on his face with a sad smile.]

[He steps back.]

Anise?

[...! Anise had reflexively shut her eyes again as Ion moved closer, and so was unprepared for the sudden contact against her forehead. Her cheeks feel very red as Ion calls her name. Sheepishly, she opens her eyes again, not sure about how to feel. On one hand, this is much tamer, less personal, but somehow she can't help but feel disappointed.]

Yeah?

[Ion's smile looks sad, but maybe that's just a trick of the light.]

[distressedude]

...we can move again.

[Which means they should probably back away from the mistletoe before it reactivates or whatever. Because. You know. That's kind of the reason they did this in the first place... right?]

O-oh, yeah, right.

[Ion's word breaks the spell. Anise hastily jumps away, looking up first to make sure there's no more mistletoe around.]

[Yeah, he'll just... be keeping his distance for now. No reason for them to get stuck under a mistletoe twice now, after all.]

We should... probably get home before anything else happens.

[Look, he's even going willing now!]

Y-yeah. Um, I'll go ahead to make sure there's no mistletoe, okay?

All right. I'll be behind you. Just... be careful. I've heard one person can get trapped under them as well.

[Which would necessitate a repeat performance, because embarrassment aside, he's not about to leave her stranded.]
