It's Pancake Day!

Who: Anyone and everyone!
What: A feast of pancakes in honour of Shrove Tuesday.
When: Tuesday February 5th
Where: CH7, ground floor
Summary: Truly a feast day second only to Christmas!
Rating: PG/PG-13 for language if someone gets burned on the stove or hit by exploding magical pancake batter.

All of the ingredients have been gathered and are laid out when Max finally gets up that morning. More eggs and milk and flour than he's ever seen in one place and maybe he'd gone a bit overboard with it, but he didn't know how many people would be showing up. It wasn't as though they could use the rest of it some other time.

[Since he laid his eyes on the invitation, Thor has been waiting for this. He hasn't had a panned cake in a terribly long time and he's missed them a great deal.

He has a pretty huge stack of pancakes and he's working his way through them fast, muttering approval with a full mouth.]

[Loki is watching you, Thor.

Looking at you until you discover that one pancake covered in tabasco sauce and chili pepper.

And if you do, he'll do his best not to laugh too hard.]

[He doesn't notice he's being watched. He's too busy enjoying the delicious, sweet taste of these pancakes. He can't think of anything but how great they are and how...

Spicy..They are.

That doesn't seem right.

He scrunches up his face, but he's already swallowed it whole. It burns. IT BURNS. He takes a nearby pitcher of milk and downs it, still not noticing Loki nearby.]<.small>

[Loki covers his mouth as he snickers but the snickers turn into snorts and he'll be laughing in no time.]

Thor, by Odin's beard, please gander upon your pancakes first before stuffing your face with them.

[Thor turns as Loki speaks, giving him the most put out and displeased expression he can. Though it's difficult given the spice in his mouth.]

How foolish of me! I have let my guard down despite knowing there are now two Lokis up to mischief.

Come over here.

[Loki notices that and cannot stop giggling at all anymore. But he still approaches Thor, trying to stop the laughing by covering his mouth with his hand.]

Comparing my mischief with that of my older self...that is rather banal, Thor.

[Rogue eyed the stack of pancakes on the stranger's plate and found it Wolverine-worthy. As such, some friendly ribbing was in order.] Hey, save some for the rest of us, big guy.

[Thor gives her a knowing smile. He can tell she's teasing and it's not nearly enough to harsh his chi when there are pancakes in front of him.]

I cannot promise control when there are pancakes abound, I am afraid.

[touchofrogue]

[Hey, mister, that's a nice smile.]

S'long as there's still enough to go around and you don't confuse a pancake for a plate, I reckon that gives you some license to go crazy.

Of course! I would never be so selfish as to deprive another of their fair share of a good meal. ...Or so daft as to mistake something so hard for something as soft as a pancake.

[He can't help laughing at the thought of it.]

[touchofrogue]

Just makin' sure. The way you're pilin' them on, it seemed best to be certain.

[She gave him a smile and a nod and, as far as she was concerned, the conversation was finished. She moves to acquire a plate.]

[Wow uh... for the first time, Max is wondering whether he might not have underestimate how much batter he'd need.]

I take it you like pancakes then?

[worldsaway]

I most certainly do! [How can you have any regrets when he just looks SO HAPPY? He's like a kid at christmas.] I've not had a pancake for a terribly long time.

[abjurer]

Can't blame you. They are very tasty. Wouldn't have thrown this party if I hated them either.

[But for this guy, geez, he looks like all his wishes had come true at once.]

It was very good of you. Such a fine idea. To bring everyone together through a delicious meal. I cannot think of a finer way to spend a morning!

It's a good way to meet people and I'm pretty new around here. And it's a little reminder of home. [And he at least needed that right now.]

[While Henry may be a big eater, even he doesn't eat that much.]

Hungry, huh?

[Thor smiles over at Henry, his mouth full of pancake. He swallows so he can respond.]

Always! [He takes another relatively small bite.] I've not enjoyed pancakes for quite some time.

Really? How come?

[Pancakes were great though, even better when they weren't the whole wheat kind with no syrup.]

They are not customary where I come from. I've not indulged in traditional Earth meals since I enjoyed the meats and vegetables wrapped in bread at Stark's reccomendation.

[THAT was a good meal.]

Meet and vegetables in bread? You mean fajitas?

[Because that's a really broad description, Thor. Guess there's a reason why he's not the god of thorough descriptions.]

[Grune has been watching this pleasant-looking young man put away the pancakes, becoming more impressed by the moment. (And here she had thought Moses had a healthy appetite.) He must still be growing. Either that, or....]

My, you must like pancakes very much.

[Thor smiles brightly with a closed mouth, hiding a mouthful of pancakes until he can swallow them.]

I do indeed! It has been some time since I enjoyed them.

[Seeing an empty seat, Grune moves over to sit beside him.]

Then it's very good we had a day for pancakes, isn't it?

It most certainly is! I practically leapt at the opportunity to enjoy fine food with excellent company.

[He nods as she sits.] Do you enjoy them?
