[Well Emmet, you know who loves trains? We do!!! And Cilan's in a pretty chipper mood today when he spots Emmet reading a book, so he immediately beeline right on over! (But uh, h-hopefully we're not bothering you while you're trying to read, we'd feel bad about that...)]

Hello Emmet! How are you today? [Is that a book about trains, why does that not surprise us--] Oh, which book is that one--is it the one about the particular tastes of lines and tracks, or one of the books about various components or models of cars used for certain types of trains? [Or perhaps a different one from the library we haven't read ourselves yet...?]
infinitegrin: (Making someone happy)

[personal profile] infinitegrin 2013-02-13 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Hello, Cilan! [Oh, there goes his heart rate! So of course he feels his face turn flush.] This one is a history of trains! Which is interesting, the very small and subtle differences that it makes in worlds without Pokémon. The progression that the world this book was originally published in had made was very different, but all with such surprisingly similar results! It truly is wonderful and fascinating!

[Really it's a very simple book, but Emmet is just ecstatic about it. But... now he's feeling a stronger yearning! He pats the seat on the bench next to him, come now!]
cilantro: (shall we allow the tasting to begin?)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-14 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, excellent choice~! Reading about the history of trains can be quite an exciting taste, especially when it comes to learning about the trains that other places have in comparison to the trains that we're familiar with and how they came to be... [Oh, but I don't think we've read this one about the trains from that particular world, but that's okay, it makes us really happy to see Emmet being so cheerful right now...

At the offer, Cilan looks surprised for a moment, but then he goes ahead and takes a seat next to the Subway Boss~]
infinitegrin: (^_^)

[personal profile] infinitegrin 2013-02-14 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
The origins are really surprising! They really had no fuel sources so readily available, at first, without Pokémon that could provide the energy. Yet they found some ways to create engines, even high-powered ones strong enough to move such hefty vehicles like trains.

[He flips the book back to the chapter talking about when trains were initially built, passing it to Cilan... and maybe restraining a delighted and giddy chuckle when he brushed his fingers against Cilan's.]
cilantro: (why are you so kawaii cilan)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-14 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[If Cilan notices, he doesn't say anything or tries not to make his observation too obvious. Though, normally he might not think too much into it, but for some reason today he feels a little more hyper-aware of things, so he finds himself thinking vaguely that the close proximity is kind of nice. (Also feeling Emmet's fingers brushing against his was kind of nice too--wait, where did that thought come from, let's uh, focus again here while accepting the offered book.)]

Ah, I see! [Glancing through the pages the book is opened to at the moment--Emmet really did pick a good book to read, this one is pretty fascinating.] Hm, what an intriguing taste--the creation of the engines depicted here is certainly different than ours, as well as the means of how to power them...it's rather curious to think that may or may not have been a similar line our world could have traveled down if we didn't have Pokemon to assist in such things...
infinitegrin: (I want YOU! To fight forest fires!)

[personal profile] infinitegrin 2013-02-15 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Emmet leans a bit over Cilan, reading over his shoulder. That, and it was very oddly pleasant to invade Cilan's space, even if he knew it was probably quite rude.]

What amazes me more is the fact that trains do exist in so many worlds. The more I ask, the more I find that people do have trains about, and it's truly wonderful. Trains and subways are so efficient and so helpful, of course people would design them!
cilantro: (cilan please stop being so kawaii)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-15 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[It probably is rude, but Cilan doesn't seem to mind it. (Then again, this is Cilan, he himself is pretty guilty of forgetting the definition of "personal space" sometimes...) He spares Emmet a glance as if trying to figure out when would be okay to turn to the next page and not do it if the other is still reading something on this particular page.]ccc

Mm, I agree! It really is such a wonderful mode of transportation, it's design influencing and spanning across so many various worlds despite the many different tastes each one has. [The history and methods of how the train was created in this world depicted here is certainly interesting, as well as the different components and parts used to build them and then the fuel used to power them...so cool... *_*]
infinitegrin: (Errmahgerd trains)

[personal profile] infinitegrin 2013-02-16 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Aah, ah! Did I ever mention how wonderful it is to have someone to talk to about trains like this? It's so great that you know how they work, and really like them!
cilantro: (his heart is dancing with joy right now)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-16 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
[wow random string of the letter c how did you end up in that previous comment of mine]

[He nods in agreement] Well, I suppose other than you and Ingo, I don't usually get the chance to talk about them as often, as Ash and Iris unfortunately don't seem to be as interested, while my brothers do seem to at least have an interest in hearing about them--[Well, most likely hearing about it from him because they will indulge him a little.]

But, nonetheless, when I do get to share that enthusiasm with someone, it's really wonderful...oh, but I don't think I could just say that I like them--I'd go so far as to say I love them, and the subway too~! [No really you should have been there when he was declaring his love for the subway in anime-universe. If he wasn't sitting down right now, he'd probably be spinning around or something in excitement.] Trains have always had such a pleasing taste to me in terms of design and how they run, and the subway has always been one of, if not certainly my favorite place in Nimbasa to see~!
infinitegrin: (Making someone happy)

[personal profile] infinitegrin 2013-02-16 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Your keyboard was stuttering c-c-cilan]

That's wonderful! Really wonderful! Ah, Cilan, it's too bad that we haven't met at home yet, but if it means that I get to share the trains with you then I can patiently wait to arrive at that station!
cilantro: (wow I really do look ridiculous)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-16 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? [dokidoki I mean uh] That's great! I'd say that I'm looking forward to it too--but, um, it's already happened for me in my timeline, so I suppose what I can say is that it really was a wonderful first meeting, and thus far afterward...

[Man talking about worlds and timelines gets kind of awkward and confusing sometimes but you get what we're trying to say right? (Although there is that nagging worry Silver brought up with him once before about how it's entirely possible for Ingo and Emmet here to be from separate universes than his, but he'll just try to push that aside...)]
infinitegrin: (Leafy hair!)

[personal profile] infinitegrin 2013-02-19 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
That's okay. That just encourages me to get to that station sooner!

[And here we go, it starts: Emmet ruffles Cilan's hair, affectionately but rudely.]

But we can be close in the meantime! I want to know you much better than I currently do, too.
cilantro: (my burgundy senses are tingling...)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-19 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[adlfkj Emmet what are you doing--it takes a second before Cilan has a response that doesn't involve stammering.]

Ah, happy to hear it--I'd like to get to know you a little better as well... [but Cilan's too flustered polite at the moment to tell you to stop ruffling his hair like that... ^^;;]
infinitegrin: (Trust me)

[personal profile] infinitegrin 2013-02-20 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
[At least Emmet sort of kind of smooths it down...?]

You've told me about what a Connoisseur is! But I haven't asked more about that, yet. How did you start in becoming a Connoisseur?
cilantro: (and that's how pokemon procreate!)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-20 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Hm? Well... [There's a slight pause as he thinks about this.] When it comes to being a Pokemon Connoisseur in particular, it involves some intensive studying and then you take a test--if you pass, then you're given a badge that recognizes you as an officially registered Connoisseur, or "Connoisseuse" if you're female. There are four ranks: C, B, A, and S-class, the latter being the highest rank and with C being the lowest. You first start out as a C-class--usually, you start out as an assistant to an A-class or higher at this rank, and then from there you work your way up, helping trainers, garnering a reputation, and further studying until you can be recognized as an S-class Connoisseur.

Currently, I'm registered as an A-class Pokemon Connoisseur after having passed the tests--when I decided to be one, even the tests for becoming a C-class surprisingly had a difficult taste to them, but I managed to pass them and work my way up to A-class; it's been very enjoyable tasting the compatibilities of Pokemon and have certainly given battles a more interesting flavor to analyze now, especially as a Gym Leader...ah, but of course, I'm currently working on furthering my skills even more so that I can become an S-Class Pokemon Connoisseur someday too.

[Sorry for all that rambling, your question was "how did he become a Connoisseur", not why he became one... ^^;;]
infinitegrin: (Always smiling!)

[personal profile] infinitegrin 2013-02-20 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Emmet doesn't mind in the least! He finds, lately, that he just loves Cilan's rambling. It was just... so endearing, and it inspired a sort of kindred spirits, he felt.]

Wonderful! Simply amazing, I can't believe I haven't seen something like that yet. I should expand beyond the subway, now and then. Is there a reason you found a passion for it?
cilantro: (hey baby do you come here often)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-20 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
Well...it sounded like a very appealing, rewarding profession--not just in analyzing and tasting the skills of the opponent in battle, but in observing the bonds between people and their Pokemon, and wanting to help and offer advice that would strengthen their relationship with one another.

...And I was right, it has been rewarding so far--I've gotten to meet people I otherwise might not have met before, and it's been fun; bringing a passionate spice of life to others, and in turn having the ability to taste so many various flavors of life as well.

[If that makes sense...]
infinitegrin: (Fuzzy Wuzzy Spider Wider)

[personal profile] infinitegrin 2013-02-20 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! Yes I understand, that sounds wonderful. You've seen and met so many people, and I've gotten the same with working in the Subway. As a Depot Agent, I often helped people as they were going about their lives, and talked about their lives with them. I've seen a lot of people as they come through each station, and I get to know them as they wait to disembark. It's wonderful.

And as a Subway Boss, I can see there, too. I see the bond people have with their Pokémon, and I get to see what their creativity brings to the Battle Subway. There's nothing better than a job you love!
cilantro: (personal space? what personal space?)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-20 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[Eee, Emmet approves! And getting to hear about how much he loves his job makes us really happy as well! Whether Cilan has noticed or not, he's moved a little closer--it's our turn to ask some questions now!]

So, how did you become a Subway Boss, if you don't mind my asking?
infinitegrin: (Singing a tune)

[personal profile] infinitegrin 2013-02-24 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Well! We grew up in Anville Town, so our whole lives we used the Subway. After our journey, we became Depot Agents at the station. We worked up, became the owners, and we created the Battle Subway to attract more customers! It gave the Subway better revenue so that we could expand it, enhance it, and enjoy it. And the Battle Subway was always very, very, very fun!
cilantro: (kawaii pokemon senses tingling)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-25 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, I see! So you've been around trains for nearly your whole life...that's amazing! [Emmet-senpai you're so cool...err, I mean--] And creating the Battle Subway was certainly a wonderful idea--combining the rich flavors of the trains and subway with the thrilling flavors of Pokemon battles created a truly miraculous, heart-pounding taste of excitement!

[Speaking of things that are heart-pounding I mean uh How does he keep coming up with more ways to describe the Subway? NOBODY KNOWS] Oh, what was being a Depot Agent like, before you became the Subway Bosses?
infinitegrin: (Making someone happy)

[personal profile] infinitegrin 2013-02-28 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It was fun! Sometimes we would drive the trains, but usually Ingo and I helped people get to their proper lines and guide them when they were lost. We have many good memories of it!
cilantro: (tea time is always a good time)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-03-01 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Mm--I didn't get to really meet the Depot Agents the last time I was Nimbasa, but it sounds like it's a rewarding profession to have too.

[Though that might be because the anime doesn't have the entertaining Depot Agents like the games do but ssshhh]
