I wonder why I've never run into you before. I'm out in the forest a lot! I really like monsters and animals.

That's surprising. But it's a big forest! We must've always been in different parts. Still... it's really nice that you like animals. [He feels really relieved and very light on the inside. And Aang really likes the idea of having fun with her involving animals. But one thought confuses him.] And... monsters, too? Aren't they dangerous?

People say that a lot. But monsters are always nice to me. I think people just want monsters to be mean, so they can get mad at them and be mean back...

So they're nice to you? [That's good. But now, getting to know her, Aang can't imagine how any creature couldn't be nice to her.] And people want them to be mean - I know I don't want that! I haven't really met things that'd be called monsters, but... any living thing that doesn't seem nice to me, I try to understand and befriend first. I don't wanna be mean to anything, honest.

Really? That's so nice of you! I've met a lot of people who are just mean to monsters and don't try to understand them. I hate them. They're the ones who make bad things happen.

[He blushes slightly at her compliment, but he mostly looks on sympathetically.]

Bad people are like that. They attack those that're different without trying to understand them. Do you know any monsters here in Luceti? I - I'd like to meet them and make friends with them, if there are.

Um... There's a cheagle at my house, but most people like those, even though they're monsters. I met some others, but I don't know if they're still here. I haven't seen them in a while.

Oh, I see. I think I did hear about a cheagle once. I wouldn't mind meeting that one... but maybe for now we could try exploring around here to see what we can find. Who knows what kinds of creatures'd we'd find, maybe even some of the ones that you're not sure if they're still here? It could be fun! [Pause] If - if you want, that is!

Oh, yes! I'd really like that. I've met a lot of the monsters here, after all. So maybe they'll come out if they hear the two of us talking to each other.

Yeah! They trust you and you have a pretty voice, so I'm sure something'll come out eventually if we keep talking about how we're accepting of them! Maybe it'd help more if we talk while we're going even deeper in the forest. [He starts to walk in that direction, but then he turns back to face Arietta with a smile and offers his hand to her.]

[ Arietta quickly reaches forward and takes his hand. ]

Do you have a spot you like?

[Normally, Aang's the type who has no problem holding hands and making physical contact with his friends; but now he feels himself with a renewed blush and fluttering sensations in his heart as he takes hold of Arietta's hand. But still retains his cool enough to talk with her as he guides through the trees.]

Yeah... I think that one spot where I meditate sometimes is near here!

What's meditate? Can I see?

You don't know about meditation? You can watch it, but it's - it's kinda boring. Basically it's when you sit down and close your eyes, but instead of sleeping, you let your thoughts slip out of your body! It's a special kind of concentration that I like a lot, and it can be calming and help you feel at one with nature.

[ See this face? This is the face of someone who has been listening to something that's going right over their head. ]

Um... I don't really understand... I'm sorry.

[He frowns slightly, afraid that this nice girl won't really understand him.]

Really? Okay, maybe I should try to explain it better. It's kind of like... you know how your brain's always full of thoughts? It's about making your mind quiet and calm and still. And that lets you hear or feel what your spirit's trying to say. Does that sound better?

... I think I get it, now. A little. So, you stop thinking, and then... [ ... theeen she's lost again. ]

[He blinks for a moment, as if expecting her to finish that sentence, and then he laughs. In an endearing rather than teasing way. She's trying at least.]

It's okay. Maybe you'll get the hang of it if you try it, or see me try it. But we don't have to do that now if you don't wanna - I wanna do whatever you wanna do.

[And then they come to a quiet, peaceful-looking clearing.]

I guess first for meditation out here, is finding just the right spot to sit...

[He releases her hand with a little reluctance - he didn't expect to be missing that touch already - and he feels along the ground before looking up with a smile.]

I'll pick right here! This ground feels just... ground-y enough to work! [And he sits cross-legged.] And now I'm gonna start!

... What's ground-y feel like?

[ She imitates him, feeling along the ground and trying to feel what he did.

Sorry Aang she might not be the best meditation buddy. ]

[It's a good thing that Aang always have patience - even moreso that Aang finds himself just grinning stupidly at how adorable she is.]

I just mean like... feeling comfortable for the ground, y'know? A spot where you'd like sitting! I think the ground's softer around here.

[He gets up goes near Arietta, then he takes the opportunity to reach for her hand again and tries to calmly guide it along the ground to feel at a more comfortable patch of ground.]

[ She lets him guide her hand, but rather than really feeling, she just leans gently against him. ]

I still don't get it... but that's okay I think.

[And as she leans against him, he glows a bright red.]

Y-yeah. It's really okay! It doesn't matter if you get it or not, I'm just... really glad I met you, Arietta. [And he finds himself wrapping his arms around her warmly.]
