[In the list of things Kari had been expecting out of today, this was far from anything that could possibly be included... and yet here they were.]

[There's a part of her than knows this may not mean anything and may not go anywhere, and a smaller part of her that still can't help but think of Teruko back home... but all the same, in this instant, the only thing she wants to think about it this kiss.]

[After a long and lingering moment, she pulls away, a smile on her face. And with a lack of something better to say--] ...how was that?

[The kiss was soft and gentle and everything Kari thought it would be... why hadn't she acted on this sooner? Certainly, she always thought that Rei was very pretty, but somehow she'd never really thought of her quite like this. She doesn't want this moment to end.]
