Very seriously. At least it's well-trained; it kept so still that I actually thought it was a toy for three days before I spotted it scratching itself.

Very. Turning someone into a rat is actually a pretty low-level spell. The problem in this case was that the gal kinda cast it on herself. So it's tough to undo that kind of thing when you have rat lips.

That's... messed up. On my world there's plenty of artes that can kill, but they don't screw with your body like that.

...She turned me into a rat, once. Too. Briefly. Very briefly. It was very very brief, I promise. No leftover rat habits.
