This post covers the first day, before the attack. Remember, characters here are not expecting an attack and are under the impression they will be going to Region 1 to fight. During this day, draftees will be restricted to T6 and T7 and not permitted access to other areas.

Data, really. That was what he wanted. And if having a nice, polite conversation might help, he could certainly do that.

[Vastra raises an eyebrow slightly, one of the corners of her mouth coming up in a little teasing smirk.] Are you concerned I am going to turn into a zombie, Loki? Or is this a concern for the general public?

Gotten used to it, of course, but the rush of everything returning was the world returning to color after living in a dim, gray existence. The Sky Island they were on was thrumming with living energy - the press of the emotions and presences of multitudes of people on his senses nearly too much. Not that there was just people to sense... there was something else, energy like a deep current teasing his perceptions. Strange, alien, it reminded him a little of what he felt in the portal room.

"Can't say I'm crazy about the crowds, but I'll manage. The nostalgia of being on a Sky Island makes up for a lot."

[Frey had just managed to lay down on the bunk when Yun's face drops down from above. He's still a little fuzzyheaded from the treatment for his migraine earlier, so it's a bit of a surprise and it is definitely showing visibly on his face.

Had she been up there the whole time...?]

That looks pretty fragile! Can't you find something better?

"I know you don't want me to be concerned, but this is a draft situation."

It probably doesn't help that she's a stranger to the teen, either. A teen who is more than likely used to taking care of herself, without trusting others, like most of them were. She can't say that she hadn't been in that situation once herself.

"If the lightheadedness is something that only started when you first got up here, it might be a side effect of a shift illness, and you'll want that taken care of."

It doesn't, but unfortunately they only concern themselves with numbers and compatibility. It's up to us to make sure that non-combatants are looked out for, and stay as far out of the action as possible.

[Though she knows it's not always possible; no matter how many preparations, someone often ends up in danger that shouldn't be.] In any case, I'm sure you'll be a good help around the base camp, whenever that is set up properly. Checking on the supplies for the medics, and maybe even helping with the food. Just make sure you're in the company of someone who can look out for you at all time - there should be people hanging around the area for defensive purposes.

Yes, my name is Raine Sage. I don't believe we've been introduced before.

Indeed. The supplies come from all over various worlds, all put together in one neat pack. I'd like to think that it comes in handy.

You're welcome. Better to be safe than sorry, right? [A pause, as she tilts her head.] How are you holding up?

[She looks doubtful when the wince crosses the other girl's face.]

Are you sure? This is gonna be hard enough even if you aren't sick!

You could always say hello to the blue man over there - [A vague gesture in the direction of where Bil had last been seen.] Bil, or Sir Catherine, or whatever he wants to be called - used to be the one who showered our little enclosure with comforts before he was ultimately deposed.

Indeed. For our part, it's back to the usual - hope for the best, prepare for the worst, deal with whatever happens. Are you ready?

[He reaches for his hat, sitting further out on his bed so that he can put it on.]

I could. But I prefer to let its unreliability bind me to restraint. A true gentleman never engages in conflict while any other option is available to him.

Hm? [Raine glances back up from her work. Hadn't she just seen this girl...?] Yes, there are plenty of extras. Were you going to make a few deliveries?

[Forgetting where they are and how they're dressed is easy when she sees the look on his face. Ororo puts a careful hand on his shoulder.]

Do not worry, Kurt. It... is unfortunate that we have to do this at all, but at least we're in it together. It will be difficult, but you'll be fine; we all will.

I think I just might. [He doesn't look like he's in a hurry to chase after the man, though, and instead zips his pouch closed. As he grabs the next, he adds in a tone of mild interest:] Why is the man blue?

Do you think there are other options, Professor?

If it's not something natural from his home world, I'd say it's more likely the result of a shift that... persisted even after his revival. But I haven't asked, personally. Perhaps you might?
