This post covers the first day, before the attack. Remember, characters here are not expecting an attack and are under the impression they will be going to Region 1 to fight. During this day, draftees will be restricted to T6 and T7 and not permitted access to other areas.

He laughs; in context for him, 'settled' means 'ready for the battle'. But it's still easy for him to forget until he gets answers like this that most people think of 'home', or at least a permanent place to stay, when they think 'settled'.

Which is not something that he links together easily in his mind these days.

It's still not right. Even if they are evil it doesn't mean I'm going to sink to their level. Besides, maybe they can change.

[This guy was Alexei? No way...he sounded a lot older. He has crane his head up a bit, cupping a hand around his ear. Not because he couldn't hear about the rest of what he's saying, but to compare voices in his head.

Now that Cross thinks on it, this guy did sound like an older version of the boy he talked to.]

Oh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah...I remember that. You were a lot younger sounding at the time.

[Cross notices the girl behind him, but continues to go on with what he's doing. She was probably up to something else and didn't need him talking to her. However, he's caught off guard when this girl actually wanted to talk to him. Turning to her, he offers a smile at her questions, leaning back a bit with his hands on his sides.]

Oh, well I'm making calculations with my visor. I'm trying to see on average how high these buildings are.

She thought they might be of a hero, or a celebrity, or even a person from myth. The locals aren't that much help since they've been there forever... and a lot don't seem to hold a high regard for them. You know the Little Miss though?

You are Equestria's fastest flyer, after all. [ She gives Rainbow a nudge. ] And I'm pretty handy with magic myself.

[ She frowns. ] These aren't changelings, though. For one thing, they'll be bigger than us. It's not going to be easy.

[ Seeing (and hearing) another observer, she flies down to meet her. ] Hi! No, I'm not Dash. My name's Twilight Sparkle. What's yours?

[Shikamaru doesn't approach Bil right away. Only a few hours between home and here, he couldn't see why he should care to. That or anything about this war. A conversation with Itachi, of all people, on the other side of the mess hall reminded him. After taking some time to untangle over two extra years of memories from the recesses of his brain, he heads over.]

Must be. [ Her left forehoof is itching. She scratches absently at it, then looks down. Squints. Something must be wrong with her eyes, her fur usually isn't pink like Pinkie Pie's. ]

_{[ He could see her scratching and frowning, but took them for nervous ticks.]}

[And so it's in the armory they probably meet up! Shikamaru is having an exasperated conversation with one of the people taking requests there.]

Look. I was more than prepared before I got here, all right? It can't be that hard for you to get my weapons up here, they gotta be just one shift away from the weapon's shop in Luceti.

He gives a meek wave and smile as he departs from the table.

[ She shakes her head. ] I must have jostled something when I fell before...

[ It's spreading, though, and now her entire left leg is a brilliant shade of pink. Then her leg swims before her eyes and she stumbles. ] Woah...

Maybe everyone should just... keep these shapes to themselves for now.

Maybe he should check out the guns in here in more detail. He doesn't need more than his axe, but.]
