This post covers the first day, before the attack. Remember, characters here are not expecting an attack and are under the impression they will be going to Region 1 to fight. During this day, draftees will be restricted to T6 and T7 and not permitted access to other areas.

[Eyebrows go up.]

Good day, Kurt. I trust everything is well?

[He takes the shower head next to Kurt's because hey, they're going to chat.]

[Yes, Kurt makes sure to force his look on Loki's face, fighting horrible curiosity. Oh god he's showering next to him. He gives a nervous laugh.]

Um - yeah. Perfectly well! Everything's where it should be! [Oh god what am I saying.]

[complicatedliar]

[Such an innocent look from Loki. But inside, he's smirking. You know it.]

I should hope so. And in good shape?

Well, I mean, of course you ar - but, no! That's not what I meant. I meant, for me. I'm in - I'm fine! [He gestures with his hands while his tail scrubs a bar of soap across his shoulder.]

What is that mortal expression... ship shape? Only I should think certain things ought not to be shaped like ships, yes?

[He smiles.]

I am glad to hear you are in the precise shape you ought to be. Is this often a problem?

[wildbluevagner]

N-no. Not really! I... like my shape? [He doesn't even know where this conversation is going.]

What about... How are you doing?

Well, that is good. It would be very upsetting to not like one's... shape.

[He cocks his head slightly. He wonders if it's a little bit more unsettling, that he has to watch Kurt so intently when he speaks.]

And I rather like mine too. [Grin.] I am... well enough. Not terribly thrilled to be on this draft, all told.

Right, I wouldn't want to have to shape up just for myself...

[But he blinks at Loki's question. It's probably at least helpful for the Lokster's need of lip-reading that these circumstances are making sure that Kurt trains his gaze solely towards Loki's face.]

You're not? But... You're a god, right? Shouldn't this be a piece of cake for you?

Why have to... shape up for anyone?

[He snorts.]

I am a god. And killing cultists is, yes, a... piece of cake. However, I am no one's toy soldier. This is not what I wish to be doing with my time.

I guess because... I don't know, shapes are everywhere?

Okay, okay. That's a fair point. But at least you're not in... danger or anything. [And don't seem too concerned with the idea of killing others. While Kurt is very worried about that subject.]

[complicatedliar]

The shape you are currently in is, by definition, a shape. [Kurt, you are so adorable it's like pushing a kitten down the stairs.] Why be dissatisfied?

Every draft is dangerous, and I have my own disadvantages to deal with this time. Though one might hope this will go better than the last draft. [He raises an eyebrow.] Are you concerned about your own chances?

I guess you're right. Maybe I should be okay with my shape. Or... or maybe just not think about it.

Uh - [He quickly deflates.] I guess you could say that...

[Loki nods wisely.] Too much attention to one's own shape has the nasty side effect of causing one to miss the lovely shapes of others. And what one might do with those.

[He raises an eyebrow.] Why? You've got quite the useful ability.

[wildbluevagner]

Maybe everyone should just... keep these shapes to themselves for now.

I do. But I'm not exactly used to this whole... war thing.

[complicatedliar]

[Loki laughs. He's won.]

I'd gotten the impression that the ah... X-men... were no strangers to combat. This will be no different. Fight as you are suited to do. If anyone tries to drag you into conventional and unimaginative battle, they are a fool.

[wildbluevagner]

[And he just focuses on Loki's face intently.]

I don't know. These Cultists, they don't seem like the people we're used to fighting. I mean, here I've been kind of prepared for this kind of thing, but as tough as things got back home, it was never so close to an - an actual war.

[complicatedliar]

Open war is perhaps the most honest sort of combat. [He tilts up one eyebrow.] Kill or be killed makes decisions very easy, after all. And you need not be concerned with some day making peace with these people.

[wildbluevagner]

Yeah, yeah I heard. These guys can't be reasoned with.

[complicatedliar]

Nay. Even talking to them is a waste of breath better spent on combat.
