This post covers the first day, before the attack. Remember, characters here are not expecting an attack and are under the impression they will be going to Region 1 to fight. During this day, draftees will be restricted to T6 and T7 and not permitted access to other areas.

[Alexei was taking his leave from the clinic earlier that day and will likely be passing Cross through the hallways. At first he doesn't say anything until he got a better look at him. He felt like he had seen him somewhere before...]

...Cross?

[Cross breaks his pacing when an older man says his name. Turning to him, Cross currently has someone to focus on rather than his own worry. But, all he can do his look puzzled. Did he know this guy?]

Ummm, that's me. Have we met?

... [His memories must be messing with him.]

I believe we have, though it feels like it was quite some time ago when we spoke. [Like, when he was younger? He knows the Malnosso was responsible, but the memories were treated as if it did happen years ago.]

Huh, really? Um...well, what's your name? Maybe that'll help jog my memory.

[The white hair is kind of familiar after all. All he can do is just stare intently as he tries to piece it together.]

My name is Alexei. I think we were discussing different things about our worlds.

[hero_of_smiles]

[This guy was Alexei? No way...he sounded a lot older. He has crane his head up a bit, cupping a hand around his ear. Not because he couldn't hear about the rest of what he's saying, but to compare voices in his head.

Now that Cross thinks on it, this guy did sound like an older version of the boy he talked to.]

Oh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah...I remember that. You were a lot younger sounding at the time.

That might be because I was younger, thanks to the Malnosso. This is how I am normally.

A pleasure meeting your acquaintance again, properly.

Oh, one of their experiments than.

[He grins however. At least this guy was normal again.]

Mm, nice to meet you too, Sir.

[He extends a hand out to him to shake. Might as well make it official.]

This is probably not the best time to get reacquainted, but I assume things have been well for you?

Yeah, suppose with the whole fighting thing coming up soon. But, I've been fine. I mean as fine as you can get when the Malnosso aren't doing things to people.

A good enough answer. [A small frown]

I'd like to believe we're actually making progress in their war. [They've had a few victories sure but...it still felt like they barely left a dent in this battle.]

Think so? That'd be great if we were. Maybe we can finally get to the peace negotiations.

It's just wishful thinking on my part really. [...]

I wonder if we would still be able to travel this world once the war ends? Or will the Malnosso keep us locked away, just like before?

[hero_of_smiles]

I was thinking they'd let us go home if the war ended. But, they must be awfully fond of experimenting on people. So, I dunno. But, maybe they will, they can't all be bad.

I beg to differ. [Going home...Sometimes he forgets there are still people who actually have someplace to return to.]

You had something you needed to do back home?

[Cross goes through a loop at what Alexei says. What did he mean by that?]


Sort of. I have a job I need to do back home. Plus, I kind of miss my brother.
