This post covers the first day, before the attack. Remember, characters here are not expecting an attack and are under the impression they will be going to Region 1 to fight. During this day, draftees will be restricted to T6 and T7 and not permitted access to other areas.

[It takes a lot to earn Chouji's dislike, usually, but he doesn't tolerate insults or disrespect to his friends. That's the quickest way to make him angry.]

What should do once we've salvaged the ingredients? [He's as quiet as possible, trying to keep anyone from overhearing. Chouji wonders where the seasonings are hiding; pickings are probably slim, but any spices would improve this food. Furtive glances toward other cooks' workstations seem to be the next order of business, Chouji's hands never stopping in the practiced motion of slicing vegetables as he scans the room.] Any idea what you'd like to make?

We could make a pretty hearty stew? It's not too fancy so it wouldn't get a ton of notice from the other chefs, and it's delicious. We'll just put anything that seems okay into it and they might take it since we're not being wasteful. Vegetables and meat.

[Diamond's not trained enough to keep an eye out as he works through the meat and its freezer burn, so he's keeping everything down. Mm, stew. A pastry would be better suited to his taste but you do what you can.]

Stew sounds good to me! [Everything sounds good to Chouji, especially given the alternatives the mess hall is serving. The only food Chouji dislikes is anything inedible, and these chefs have skirting the line of exactly that.]

I think I see some powdered spices two stations over. They're not as good as fresh, of course, but better than nothing. I'll see if I can get some. [Chouji isn't the stealthiest ninja, but he will do his best. He waits for what he hopes the opportune moment, hoping that no one is looking right at him, then quickly snatches the spices and comes back to his own station. He didn't get a good look around the room first, so there's probably a 50/50 chance. Is luck with them today?

They've been lucky so far. Perhaps too lucky.]
