[Well, she'd sworn to keep tabs on the boy this time, and she meant it. Saori was hardly going to let her bff go off and get himself killed a second time, so she kept tabs on him in the chaos. It wasn't difficult, setting a faint trace of wind to follow him and carry word of his position to her, and so she kept near, within easy distance should he need help.

During a lull in the fighting, after clearing out a large group of enemies, she leaped back into cover to take a breather, and coincidentally (or not) found herself resting next to the littlest Asgardian.]

[Loki keeps fidgeting with his bow when he finally has time to take a breather. It is still midnight but he is good at sneaking around in dark alleys and similar dark places.]

Not in the least. After all, I could have been enjoying something with bacon and peanut butter, instead...I am stuck here.

[He shakes his head.]

Are you?

[windandrain]

I told you that you'd come. No sense complaining, but when you get back I'll take you to the hot springs, and we can have bacon.

[She reaches out and pats his shoulder reassuringly.]

And yes, I am. I'm enjoying myself quite a lot.

[Loki is looking at the sky when Saori talks and he smiles briefly when she mentions hot springs and bacon.]

I demand the presence of skittles as well.

[He deflates a little under her touch, relaxing his shoulders.]

I am glad you do, bff. This killing thing is quite new to me, you see? As surprising as that may sound.

[windandrain]

So shall it be. With no green ones, yes?

[Musically, she laughs]

I do not enjoy killing. I enjoy the feeling of blood rushing through my veins. Moving and doing things, acting and fighting, reacting, dodging, weaving. Dancing.

[Its beyond Loki why Saori is having fun. Battles are not his idea of fun, he is not cut out for that. On the other hand, it is pleasant to be able to focus his mind on other things for now.

The part I may enjoy is the fact that there are other things on my mind right now. Unfortunately these aren't particulary fun things.

I know, things have been difficult for you lately, bff. But you must take enjoyment where you can. If you can't find it in adrenaline, then perhaps you'd be best suited towards trying to help the supply crews? That would keep you out of danger.

I am not a warrior but I'll manage.

[Adrenaline? Well, Loki always enjoys thinking up plans and schemes to ensure a victory. But right now there simply isn't any time for such things. Even though he does not mind chaos, he is a creature of chaos after all, time is always quite a problematic thing to deal with.]

I can be thoroughly sneaky. And I know how to utilize a bow.

[He nudges Saori softly.]

Do not worry for me, yes?

You may not be a warrior, but you're here, and you have skills.

[She knows that much, she's studied the boy. She knows he's sharper than he likes to let on. He even slips some lies by her sometimes.

She nudges right back.]

Bff. I will always worry for you. It may wound your great ego, but you are my friend. I worry for anyone I love, you know?

I am but a child, Saori. What can I possibly contribute?

[He returns the nudge again. He's awfully good at the exchange of nudges.]

My great ego is not fond of being wounded, but it is quite fond of the great sentiment of love. I am sure we can work something out. I...

[He silences again when he hears the sound of shooting quite close.]

You can contribute a set of willing hands.

[She pats him, but turns at the sound of gunfire, hand on her bow.]

That is quite close. We should stay here, where we can see the battlefield.

It is never a problem for me to come to the aid of others. Yet, if it is about fighting another man's war. Ah, I feel a bit reluctant to do so.

[He readies his bow at the sounds, frowning slightly. Loki knows he is not cut out for battle at all. He is cut out for sneaking up from behind and setting up traps and lying his way through.]

Aye, I agree with this. We can make use of the darkness to keep us hidden.

It is another man's war, but the Third Party wants to kill us too. I was on the last mission remember?

[She slips quietly a few paces away, peering out to see what she could see.]

This will be a good nest, yes.

[Loki stays where he is when Saori goes to take a look.]

Aye, our base of great operations. My suggestion is that we shall take the form of secret ninjas.

[windandrain]

They want to hurt all of us. It's our fight too.

[She gives him a scathing look]

Do I look like a ninja to you?

[Loki pouts and huffs.]

They make it our fight, Saori. It is their fight, we are their pawns and thus it is our fight. Unlike the majority of the denizens of Asgardia I am not fond of fighting.

And do not fret, I am busy with thinking up a brilliant scheme to get us out of this predicament.

[He looks up at her question and strokes his chin.]

Not entirely. But then again, neither does Lee of Konoha, and he claims to be one.

[windandrain]

Not them, child. The Third Party. I thought you knew. They want to kill us all, forever. If they sacrifice us, we do not get to return home.

[Her stern demeanor cracks a little though]

I'm no ninja, but Lee is...a strange boy. He reminds me of a movie star I saw once.

Ah! Another party who wishes to kill us! Am I correct to presume that this third party is an enemy of the Malnosso?

Oh? There are movie actors...er...blessed with Lee of Konoha's utterly strange eyebrows?

Yes. Only, the enemy of our enemy is also our enemy in this case.

And yes, there are. Bruce Lee I believe was his name.

See? That makes us pawns. The Malnosso use us to fight their wars. I am not fond of being used for things like this.

[Bruce Lee... Loki taps his chin.]

Does he do fighting films?

I would rather the Malnosso were not using us, but I'll fight no less hard to keep you and my other friends alive.

He does, what other films would I enjoy?

[Really, he wishes not to worry her, still it does him good to hear that someone would fight for him. That someone would care to such an extent.]

Films with oodles of explosions? Romantic tragedies? A 'chick-flick', yes?

I know. I'll be looking out for you.

[She reaches out and flicks him on the forehead gently]

I like martial arts movies. That's all. Yuuna likes the chick-flicks, I just watch them to be near her.

[He nods seriously and immediately starts to rub his forehead after Saori has flicked it. Not that it really hurts or anything, but sometimes he likes to exaggerate.]

But what if they combine martial arts with explosions and romance? Have you ever thought about that? And...

[He stops talking because he hears voices coming from the right and indeed, there are two men standing a couple of feet away from them and they are obviously shouting to other men to come on over because they 'found some'.

Loki fires an arrow at them and some cursing indicates that said arrow hit a certain target.]

Well then that would be the ideal date, now wouldn't...

[She trails off as she leaps to her feet and launches herself at their attackers, feet and fists flying savagely as she roars a challenge to draw their attention and keep them off her bff.]

Come face me, fools! Steel your hearts and face the storm!

[One fist takes a man in the throat, while her hand grabs hold of a wing and rips it off with casual disregard, her own safely under layers of armor.]
