Oh good. You can talk too.

[Artemis spots movement and looses another arrow, hearing the thud of a body dropping.]

Do you think you can move? The air's gonna clear sooner or later and there's not much cover here.

[Not to mention that explosion was going to be drawing more attention to this area, and fast.]

Yes. I don't know if I can fly. [She's capable of fighting on the ground this way. It's just harder. But if she could get out of sight of Artemis for a minute...]

[Artemis flicks a glance over her shoulder for a moment and yeah, she's way too big to carry. She debates a moment, turning her gaze back to the clearing dust cloud currently masking them.]

It's probably best to stick to the ground at the moment anyway. At least until we know what we're dealing with. I'll check and see if the way's clear. I'll just be a minute.

[The bird nods.

And by the time she gets back? A sword-carrying redhead will be standing in her place, and feigning confusion. Because it's so not obvious at all.]

[She's only gone for a few moments, scouting out the locations of where the remaining cultists retreated to, on the far side of the courtyard. They weren't on alert, which made Artemis think they'd assumed the blast had done their work for them. Which, granted, it almost had, but that was awfully unprofessional of them. Not that she was complaining or anything.

She circled back after finding a path to sneak them both out of here, fully prepared to help deal with a large injured bird and stopping short when she found a girl there instead. Her bow came up instinctively, but she froze, not firing, because she was pretty sure the new arrival was not one of the cultists.

Granted, she had her suspicions after running into Rachel earlier in the day, but she still approached cautiously all the same.] Where did you come from?

Over there. [A half-shrug toward the building where her bird form had been thrown against the wall. It was mostly true.] I heard an explosion.

[If nothing else, her small wings should be a clue that she is no enemy.]

[That didn't explain the sudden absence of a giant wounded bird, but Artemis didn't push. Not now, anyway. They had other things to worry about.]

Yeah, I'm sure lots of people did. Which is probably why we shouldn't stick around unless we want to get mobbed. There's an alley off this way. If we're quick, we should be able to reach it before more cultists show up.

I'll follow you. [Her body still feels like someone's been drumming on it, but it's easier to move on the ground in this form for sure.]

[Artemis notches an arrow just in case and gives the other girl a faint smile.] Come on, then. I'll get us out of here. It looked like there were a few places for shelter at the other end of that alley. Just stick close.

[And with a motion of her hand, she led the way off to their right, keeping pressed close to the wall, moving swiftly and silently but constantly aware of the girl with her and any movement around them that might be warning of an imminent attack.]

[Sticking close is something she can handle. She even has her sword at the ready, just in case. Artemis is likely a faster draw than Raven, though, especially on chance of a sudden attack.]

[Artemis leads the way out of the square on silent feet, using what cover she can manage to keep them from being spotted until they're far enough away from the sight of the skirmish that she can relax a little easier. The alley they're moving up has seen better days and the buildings here have taken damage from som of the fighting. Everything looks empty and eerily silent. She motions to one that has a broken down door.]

That one might work? At least long enough for us to catch our breaths for a bit.

That's fine.

[She feels like she ought to sit down for a little while. Get her bearings. Nothing was broken or very painful anymore, but to stop thinking about fighting for even a few minutes would be welcome relief.]

Come on, then. I've got supplies if you need some? Food and water? [Artemis slips through the broken door, taking a quick scan of their surroundings before settling down against the far wall and opening her sack.]

I'm Artemis, by the way.

Just water. [Seeing what goes on in these fights hasn't left her feeling very hungry.] I'm Raven.
