[If she has any say in it, that will be the last thing he has to do for a long while. The first puffs of heat from the fire reach her and she shivers again, distinct from the low-grade shiver that had followed her all this time. Mia peels off her gloves, now soaked and dirty, flexing stiff fingers.

In the light she can get a better look at his face, even if it isn't much of one still, with the fire so tiny. One hand brushes his wet hair out of the way, lingering for a few seconds against his forehead. She doesn't know what she expects to feel, other than cold.]

Rest, Walter. I can keep a fire going.

[He is warmer than normal -- the result of his body reacting to the injuries and trying to heal them as best as it could. Mia's healing averted a full-on fever, but it would take awhile for his body to recover from that initial shock.

He tilts his head at Mia when he feels her hand on his face, a small sigh all that he can get out before he's tiredly shutting his eyes again. He's not going to argue.]

[At least this way he seems to be breathing better. It isn't ideal for him to lie there in cold wet clothes and fall asleep, but they have a fire and it would only make him worse to fight for wakefulness. As the flames start to really build, Mia moves for a while to the opposite side of the fire, not wanting to waste the heat.

She stays standing, because she has the sense to know that if she sits, she might fall asleep too, leaving them both trapped and vulnerable. Over the rustle of the fire she listens to the fighting outside - which feels so far away, more than a few feet for sure - and listens also for any change in Walter's breathing, or if he says something.

Eventually they are going to have to get back to safety. If there is safety to be found anywhere.]
