Have you been trapped in a rather pleasant dream as well? It is quite a...er...a hassle. Yes, hassle is the right word.

[He nods to himself. While he keeps himself busy with sending droids crashing to the ground he is not really paying attention to the ones that approach him from behind.

Loki would wish he had an eye in the back of his head but alas. He manages to fend them off by (quite a weak) spell involving a flash of light before he ducks down again, hurrying to increase the distance between those droids and himself as much as he can.

He notices he is getting quite tired. Using any form of magic wears him out.]

[Loki's voice comes out of nowhere.]

Nay. Perhaps I haven't any dreams pleasant enough.

[From his tone, he might be joking...]

[He appears a moment later amongst the droids behind his younger self, daggers flashing as he cuts through legs and arms.

He vanishes again a moment later and hurries to catch up with the boy, who seems to have slowed down quite a bit.]

Everyone has pleasant dreams.

[He opens his mouth to imply that a pleasant dream for his older self might involve minions and enslaving Midgardians but that would be foolish to say. Loki does not want to utter anything foolish today. Especially not now his older self is being of quite some help.

Loki knows he needs to find a place to hide but unfortunately a droid reaches him faster than he is able to find said hiding place.]

By Odin's so....!

[And he finds himself dangling upside down, a droid tilting him up by his leg.]

[A curved blade slices through the droid's neck from behind, Loki appearing as he stabs. He drives another danger into the droid's back and twists. They don't have familiar anatomy, but even they don't operate well with no head and a ruined chest.

The droid drops his younger self and emits a shower of sparks.]

Perhaps. [Loki smiles thinly.] I think my pleasant dreams are not what you would expect.

[At least not any more. He's had too many people working over the fact that ruling a people he despises isn't much of a path to happiness.

And presenting the possibility that even Loki can be happy to begin with.]

[Loki lands right onto his face when the droid lets go and he takes a good time to rub his forehead while muttering to himself...]

Damn, that is going to be a bruise.

[After that he gets on his feet again, straightening his back. He owes his older self big time now. But then again, they agreed on teamwork and this is nothing but a thing that can occur during teamwork.]

The illusion created by the dream illusionist did not differ much from the reality I came from. But the things that did differ gave him away.

[He looks at his older self with raised eyebrows.]

What would I expect then?

Hm, what manner of differences? Did they make things too perfect?

[He gestures his younger self to continue on toward a safer vantage.]

That would seem the obvious.

[He smirks.]

I suppose if I am caught by one you shall find out.

They make a terrible Leah.

[He is not going to tell his elder self more about that. Or about his sentiments regarding Leah and the fact she has disappeared. He probably knew enough already.

Loki realizes that it is important to think about his safety now. He is dreadfully tired and his movements are quite slow and sluggish.]

Hah, I knew you would avoid my question in a most witty manner. But if it is of any consolation, I think your pleasant dreams do not consist out of doom and gloom. Perhaps more simple things. Who knows.

I think anyone but Leah would make a terrible Leah. [He smiles wryly.]

She was a good student.

[Whether his younger self knows it or not, coming from Loki that is high praise indeed.]

I do not necessarily know, myself. Sleep and I are not on good terms, most nights. But perhaps.

[He regards the boy dispassionately.] You look like you ought to try a bit of sleep yourself.

[Loki looks at the remains of the droids they (well, pretty much only his elder self) destroyed while listening to the other. His eyes narrow briefly before he turns to look at the other again.]

I am sure she was.

[He smiles a tired smile.]

Have you ever been able to sleep?

[After that he shakes his head.]

Unfortunately this is not a right moment for a nap.

[Satisfied that he's poked that bruise sufficiently, Loki doesn't feel the need to say more on the subject of Leah.

He shrugs.]

I never kept regular hours, but I wasn't so troubled by sleep until two years ago. 'Tis one more matter to put on Odin's account.

[Another shrug.]

As you like. Just try not to let fatigue lead you into mistakes.

At least she's safe where she is now. Her safety is all that matters, don't you think?

As her tutor, I am sure you share that opinion. After all, you wouldn't want anything to happen to Billy of New York either, yes?

[The smile on Loki's face remains the same while he talks, not a hint of sarcasm in his voice. But then again, the tone of his voice is not something that is important to a deaf person.

Really he does not deem her safe around his older self in any way. And the subject of him referring to her as a good student irks him quite more than he expected.]

A bit of advice. Sometimes there are oodles of thoughts and ideas in my head that prevent me from sleeping. It helps to write them down sometimes, or count sheep.

[He nods.]

I will take care. Really, elder self, you should be the last one fretting over me. But I am truly grateful for your help.

Safety is a relative term. [He smiles sharply.] I know precisely how safe she was, here. It seems you did not.

[He laughs softly.] Consider your words carefully. Those who soak to one of us might look for a subtle threat in the innocuous, GM?

At any rate, if you are well in hand, I shall be on my way.

You do not know anything about her.

[The smile remains but Loki is aware of anger looming in the back of his head.]

But I bet you must've felt victorious over having her as a pupil, yes? Evil cackles and and lightning in the background included. 'Once again, I, Loki, prince of evil, have thwarted my younger self once again et cetera, et cetera'!

[He chuckles at his joke. Only it is not really a joke.]

Aye, I think I am well now. Do take care, elder self.

Don't lie so badly, younger self. It's not becoming. [Obviously at the very least he knows Leah was bright, talented, and an excellent student. Among the other matters of which they might have spoken.]

Actually, I feel quite proud and satisfied as a teacher. [He taps his chin with one finger.] It's terribly cute that you think you're that important to me.

Oh good. I've better things to do with my time than listen to you natter about a girl, particularly when you're simply shipping for someone to blame. [And then he vanishes.]

[Now Loki chuckles and shakes his head.]

[He turns and runs off, disappearing between the buildings (or at least, what is left of them).]
