Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

[Zatanna brushes her hair back as she leans against the railing next to him. It feels pretty fantastic to be up so high, and she's not at all afraid looking down.]

You were completely free out there.

There's no reason not to be. Why should we be worried?

[noitatnacni]

...Definitely has to be the wings.

[This part is murmured mostly to herself. Yeah, she knows this isn't like Robin, but that doesn't mean Zatanna's against the change.]

You said you used to be like this all the time, though. What happened?

[teenwonder]

Probably. No need to worry about it. If it's an experiment it'll be over in a week.

[He lets one of his hands rest on top of hers.]

I guess I just grew up.

[noitatnacni]

[Which he says like it's a good thing.]

Is that all it takes? [It's a sobering thought. But since that's pretty much the last thing she wants right now, Zatanna works up a grin.] Well we've still got a week, right? So s'tel ynoje ti.

[And not just the flying, although that's great. But she might kind of like how warm his hand feels on hers, too.]

[teenwonder]

Usually. I'll probably be upset I let things go. [Probably is more like definitely, but that's future-Robin's problem.]

But it'll fix itself on its own. There are more important things right here. [He gives her hand a squeeze.]

[noitatnacni]

If it helps, I can try and magic some sense into you. [Present-Robin is doing a lot to make her want to help out future-Robin.] You're pretty stubborn when you want to be, though.

[Hey, look at that. He just got her to smile a bit wider.] I'm really glad you see it that way. [She turns her hand under his so she can intertwine their fingers.] Especially since I happen to agree.

[teenwonder]

Maybe I don't feel like having sense right now.

[He turns to face her, combing hair away from her face with his free hand. In time, the combing turns to stroking, fingers working against the lovely green of her wings. It's a dumb thing to do, and he knows it's dumb, but she's wonderful and everything's so right. It can't hurt to spend a little more time here.]

I can work with that.

[She can also turn when he does, and enjoy the way his fingers feel moving through her hair, then over her feathers. It's really nice, and good, and hey, things making sense? Completely overrated.

So she doesn't stop to think about how crazy this all is. Instead Zatanna moves a little closer, bracing her free hand on Robin's shoulder. She leans up, maybe a little nervous, but also excited as she presses her lips against his.]

[His first instinct is to grow tense, cheeks flaming red. what is this

[But then instinct recedes into the spirit guiding his mood. It becomes easier to let it go and flow along with the moment. He'll even kiss her back when he thinks to do it.]

[noitatnacni]

[That's right Robin. She's a girl. And she's kissing you.

And the world isn't ending. How about that?

Zatanna's definitely got a content little grin on her face when she pulls back. And yes, maybe a little color on her cheeks, but nothing like the fire truck red Robin had been sporting. Lucky for him her eyes were closed.]

[teenwonder]

[This is going to be so uncomfortable next week. But again, future-Robin's problem. He massages the feathers nearest to his palm, smiling down at her.]

Where'd that come from?

[noitatnacni]

[Poor future-Robin is really going to have a hard time, isn't he?]

Don't know. It just felt right. [Which is pretty much all the reason Zatanna needs at the moment, after their mutual agreement to abandon sense. She quirks an eyebrow up, tilting her head to the side as she teases him.]

You're not complaining, are you?

[teenwonder]

[Eh, whatever it's not like he's around now.]

Not at all. You're right. It's fun.

[It's fun enough that he'll kiss her again, just to see if it's just as much fun if it happens again.]

[He's missing out.

For the record, Zatanna votes yes for fun on the second time. Especially since the awkwardness from the first isn't there so much anymore. Her hand travels upward, just until she can rest her fingers along the side of his neck, and if she lingers a little longer this time, hey.

It just means she likes it.]

[There are so many reasons not to want to get involved in something like this. It should be like kissing his aunt or something. She's not supposed to be so pretty and small and good-smelling.

He nuzzles her gently when the kiss ends this time, wings extending to wrap around her like an iridescent blanket.]

So what do you wanna do next?

[But she is all those things, Robin. She's even younger than you, and from a world where Batman is one of her dad's friends and nothing more. Also from a world where she has her own Robin, and maybe they've been working at something for awhile now, but--

He's not here. This Robin is, and his wings feel wonderful when they envelop her.]

That's really hard to say. It'd be fun to go flying again, but this is pretty nice too. [She kind of doesn't want to give it up, really.] What about you?

[teenwonder]

I'm thinking maybe we can do both.

[His wings tighten around her and then release to propel them back into the sky. His arms move around her waist, holding her securely as they travel up and away from Luceti and all the silly responsibilities inherent within.]

[noitatnacni]

[Both is definitely a good option, and Zatanna beams as she slides her arms around his shoulders. She doesn't mind letting Robin take the wheel for now, keeping her wings tucked carefully out of the way while he flies them upward. The higher the better, and she leans her head back, savoring the feeling of the wind against her face, and the strength of his arms holding her.]

You really do know how to show a girl a good time.

It helps when the girl is as fun as you are.

[It doesn't occur to Robin that he's barely spoken with Zatanna since she's been residing here. Her wings are kin with his wings, and that makes her feel like home.]

[noitatnacni]

And you're a sweet-talker. [Zatanna is equally happy to ignore their conversations before, if they can even be called that. It doesn't matter when they're soaring upward, wind whipping around them, embracing each other.

Everything feels perfect, and right. She's not about to question it.]

You know, these wings really suit you.

[teenwonder]

If we're lucky, it won't be just an experiment. I wouldn't mind if these were attached indefinitely.

[There's so much less to worry about like this! And he's sure he hasn't lost anything important in the process.]

[noitatnacni]

[Clearly not. It's not like his entire sense of self has blown away or something.]

I don't think I'd mind that either.

[And then Zatanna gets a mischievous look in her eye before she gently pushes back from Robin.]

Bet you can't catch me.

[And then she flies off to prove it.]

[Lots of things get lost after a good gust of wind. It's silly to miss everything.]

Oh yeah? Watch me!

[And he'll dart off after her, though his attempt to catch her is halfhearted at best. Catching her too soon would end the game far too quickly.]
