Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

He had felt... free, like he could touch stars, like he could keep going on forever and ever, his body lighter than air, ethereal, everywhere at once and nothing beyond his reach. It was almost sad to wake up, to be confined to flesh and the constraints of gravity.

But, regardless of his feelings, he had things to do. So he rolled out of bed, and sneezed as a gust of wind thrust dust up his nose. He shook his head, stepping, curious as he noted a puff of dust. Now, he wasn't the cleanest of men, but he wasn't a total slob. The Academy did have standards and you learned them quick.

And Kirk was a quick learned. Each step a puff, harder when he put his foot down harder. If he tried, he produced a burst with enough force to lift him off the ground. Following some inner whispering guide, he laughed as he began to float and hover around the house... which of course met with quite a bit of disaster along the way in the learning process.

So, don't be surprised if you hear a lot of crashing going on in there.]</sub>

All Other Days:

<sub>[With the growth of his new wings, the power over air, and this bubbling need to be free and high, well, he was spending as much time in the air as he could. Spinning over trees and through rooftops, laughing more than anything as he dove like a hawk, catching himself at the last minute and whirling back up again and again, the adrenaline numbing him deliciously.

But he was not above a bit of mischief - a bit of well placed air could do a lot, he was finding out, and he took a delightful amount of glee in that.]</sub>

[While Ororo was already someone who valued privacy and solitude, it only increases when she eventually opens herself to Hyt's influence. This week, everyone seemed to be out and about, discovering new powers and the joys of flight. Normally she'd love for the chance to share that joy, but today she can't help but be a little scornful that she now has to share her sky with so many people. Flying used to be an escape, and now it couldn't even be that for her when she needed it to be one.]


[When she runs into Kirk in the sky after making it a couple hundred meters alone, its the last straw!]

He was sure there was some kind of animal that could, but he could look it up later. Right now, Ororo was oddly angry at him. What? Did she own the skies? ]}

I thought I was flying, Ororo. Nice to see you too.

[Ororo was doing something similar: yes, her large wings were capable of flight now, but old habits were hard to break and she still used the wind to carry her aloft. She raises an eyebrow at how Kirk commands the winds himself.]

Hmm. It looked more like an exhibition, than anything else. Am I wrong?

I'm just enjoying being in the air, really. It's so... it just feels fantastic, you know? Well, of course you do, you can fly regularly anyways.

[She had been doing her best to avoid other people ever since these wings appeared. The town had been too crowded. More than normal, lately. But the sky had equally been calling to her. Since waking up in Luceti a year ago, she had wanted nothing more than to be able to fly. And now?

Now she finally could.

Though cautious of anyone who dared to approach her area over the forest, she otherwise took the utmost glee in flying around. Tricks were still beyond her, but there was something thrilling in speed. In flying as high as she possibly could and hurtling down to the trees below.]
