Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

[Fuuko is quite happy to see some more shapes of light joining her own, especially as it means someone else with the same kind of powers is nearby. She eventually ends up turning around to find the source of the other shapes after she's watched them float around for a little while.

When she realises these new shapes belong to Beast she can't help but smile at him. She even waves to him in greeting. Saying hello or talking doesn't seem to be an option that Fuuko is considering right now, so instead she decides to create another starfish made out of light and send it over to Beast so it floats around his head.]

[When he senses her glance and turns to see her smile, warmth stirs within him. After giving a sincere, heartfelt smile back, he stares fascinated at the star circling him. A star from Fuuko has never made him so happy.

He must make something in return... but what? Quickly, he takes some more light and shapens it into... what almost looks like a bear head. If she squints, Fuuko might see it. And now it's circling her own head.]

[Fuuko watches the shape circle around her, following it with her eyes as it floats around. Once it disappears behind her head she waits for it to reappear again before watching it again. What an interesting shape.

Having watched the shape for a moment she pulls herself away to look at Beast, then back at the shape again. Hmm. With a hand she gestures to the light while giving Beast a quizzical look. If the shape was meant to be modeled after his own head then she sees the resemblance, sort of.]

[Oh... a slight blush and a droop of the ears in embarrassment as he gives her an awkward smile. To tell her the truth, he doesn't really know what he was thinking... but it maybe was himself. The shape shrinks a little as this happens.]

[Hey now, it's nothing to get embarrassed over! Using her own powers, Fuuko buffs the shape with her own light so it grows larger and brighter before sending it back towards Beast. No matter what he was trying to make it was still rather impressive all the same. The head of a bear is quite a bit more complicated than a starfish after all.]

[He gives an expression that could only be described as a silent "Huh?" as the shape moves back towards him. At first it appears to him like she maybe had fixed what he did, but as it comes closer he sees she only made it stand out more, like it were something... nice? D'ohhhh, Foo-ko.

After looking back at her with a deeper blush than before, he turns to her star, which is still floating around him. He carefully adds more light to intensify the glow and then expands the size, making it rounder on the edges and less sharp. More like the cushion he once gave her. And then he returns the gift with a look of shy uncertainty.]

[Did she get the wrong message? Hm. As comfortable as she feels remaining silent and communicating with Beast like this, it seems to have its downfalls.

This star is certainly a huge improvement over how it looked previously. The rounded shape reminds Fuuko of her own pet starfish back home. She gently claps her hands together before setting about creating her next response.

The next star she draws also appears more rounded, much like a cushion starfish, but there's more. The head of a bear also appears next to it, though it looks more like a teddy bear than it does the actual creature. With her drawings finished she lets them float off, making them circle around each other as they rise up into the air.]

[Another star... he doesn't mind, he quite likes this interacti-

Wait... is... is that his...?

As the symbolism of the two shapes moving with one another begins to ring true to him, his smile returns and slowly grows wider and wider just as his heart seems to grow larger and larger. He thinks "friendship", but this... this seems stronger than that word right now. Does he even know the word for it? Whatever it is, he knows deep down that it means a lot.

Turning back to Fuuko, she receives the warmest smile he is capable of when Hyt is in him... which is still clearly warm.]

[While she feels far more comfortable keeping quiet, she really can't help but speak up in response to that smile.]

Fuuko is very glad to see you knew what Fuuko was drawing.

[With an expression like that she has to assume he understood her little starfish and bear light doodle. And of course, that said, she smiles back. Even with Hyt keeping her on edge and urging her to be silent she can't help but display her own feelings of friendship like this.]

[He perks up in surprise over her suddenly using her voice. However, her doing so somehow eases his comfort a little more, if only because it reminds him of what she actually sounds like. And thus, while he also keeps quiet among anyone who isn't his housemate, Fuuko will likely manage to catch him gently replying:]

Thank you.

[If they're moving on to talking, even if it's just quietly between the two of them, Fuuko walks over towards Beast so it will be easier for them to hear one another.]

You do not need to thank Fuuko. Fuuko was very happy to draw something like that for you, especially as we both seem very alike to Fuuko right now.
