Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

[Due to the dark nature of the King of Bel, Kouki naturally attracts Twila's attention and gained the spirit's influence. His normally black wings grew and became even darker, black as the shadows in the night, with no light seemingly touching it.

Under the spirit's influence, his friendly self was even more of a facade, a mask to keep his cruelty hidden. To most people, if he's not recruiting them to the "dark side", he would be cold and even cruel. Those possessed by Faeren and Nala would get a more neutral treatment from him, but Hyt-possessed would received a more pronounced animosity from him. Otherwise, he'd be just colder and more selfish during the day.

The "light" would sometime reminded the King of Bel of the heavenly forces, sometimes.

At night, Kouki would be more active, as it would mean the village and the forest is cloaked in darkness. He feels almost at home in the darkness, and he'll use this time to wander around and maybe play around with the shadows. During this time, his darker urges was amplified from being awake and active during Twila's domain.

Maybe you might see Kouki's eyes flicker from blue to red, depending on his mood.]

[Fayt had quickly discovered today that flight was quite enjoyable. He felt good up in the air, in high places in general, so much so that he'd even decided to try and make an attempt to fly in the cool night air night. It was a bit tricky at first to get oriented in the dark, but the experience was worth it.

That didn't mean landing wasn't still a bit of a problem. He doesn't even see Kouki when he makes to swoop down for a landing until it's too late to turn.] Look out...!

[Unlike Fayt, Kouki can move around fairly easily in the darkness. Going around and not interacting with annoying people is one thing he enjoys doing right now.

Well, until some idiot swoops down.]

Wha--[After a quick glance, he immediately jumps out of the way and glares at the other boy. It's hard to see in the dark, but his wings twitched in annoyance.] Watch it!

[With Kouki out of the way it's easy enough for Fayt to land more or less smoothly. He stumbles a bit, but he's pleased by the fact that he manages to get his legs under him in time in spite of the unexpected presence in his path. Once he's secure on the ground, the dark emerald wings fold at his back quickly enough, and he shakes his hair out of his eyes before looking over at Kouki.

Whoa. He sounded angry.] Sorry about that. I didn't see you in the dark.

[It was no wonder, with those black wings of his.]

[Definitely angry. Kouki dislike having his...well, walk interrupted.

He give Fayt's wings a brief glance, which are slightly easier to see in the dark compared to his own, before turning his full attention to the boy after they folded.]

Next time, just don't fly around like that. You'd never know who else is lurking around.

You're not exactly easy to see. [Ok, so maybe Fayt might feel a bit like Kouki is being a killjoy. Maybe.]

So? [And maybe, just maybe, Kouki don't have any fucks to give.] What do you want me to do, wear bright colours?

I'm just saying. Those wings don't exactly make you any easier to spot, you know? [He shrugs.]

Even so, do be careful whenever you go around at night. Not everyone's as nice as me.

[...In a sense that he didn't hurt Fayt.]

I can handle myself, don't worry. [Was he seriously telling him to stay safe?]

Alright, since it'd be bothersome if you get caught and scream suddenly in the silent night. [Well, kinda warning.]

[That's.... pretty descriptive, not to mention unexpected. He's trying to pinpoint why such a joke would make him feel uneasy.

Maybe it was the darkness.] I can protect myself if it comes to that.

[Hm...]

Alright, then I'll leave you be. [Kouki turns and seems to disappear into the darkness.

...Except he's only pretending to leave. He will be watching Fayt from the shadows for a while.]

[Well that was more than a little freaky. How'd he do that?

Fayt spends a bit of time lingering, eyeing the area around him and wondering where Kouki had gone. Finally, though, he'll turn to make his way back in the direction of community building five, on foot to avoid any more accidents. He's unaware that he's being watched, even if he's feeling oddly tense.]

[Kouki watches Fayt, before he slowly manipulates the shadows. Following Twila's instructions, he move the shadows and have them ghostly touch Fayt.

From the ankles, at first.]

Whoa...! [The feel of something creeping along Fayt's ankles is hard to ignore, and he jerks, shaking his feet trying to dislodge whatever it is crawling around his feet. It's hard to see what it is in the darkness. A bug, maybe...?]

[Whatever it is, it let go and seems to leave him alone...

Until it lash out and grab his ankle again.]

[This time Fayt stumbles a bit, though he rights himself almost as quickly, stamping his foot down in an attempt to get... whatever it is off.] What in the world?!

[walking was almost too slow most of the time, though in her short bursts of walking she would be in the air the rest.

One of those times on the ground, she'd feel an unwanted presence. But it being darker, it was harder to spot. It was when she saw red eyes did Cloche pause and glare back.]

Show yourself. I can see part of you already, it's no use hiding.

[Seeing as there's no reason to keep hiding, beside his own amusement, Kouki step out from the darkness. It's still dark, but he's a little easier to see. His large black wings easily blends into the darkness behind him.]

Aw, you spotted me, Cloche.

Your eyes gave it away. You don't seem yourself, Kouki. [But that was more of Sona going NOPE NOPE NOPE at the presence of Twila.] You don't feel... right.

[While Twila is annoyed by the presence of Sona. Not as much as Hyt, but it's not a favourable mood.]

I guess I've been tapping into my powers a little more lately.

[Since he only use it in the drafts or battle simulations. However, he give her a careful look.]

I don't feel "right", you say...?
