Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

[When Florian's wings suddenly grow flight-worthy, his first thought is just that fact: He can fly. And fly is exactly what he does, excitedly rushing through breakfast just so he can get out that door and soar over the treetops.

There's not much else going through his head, honestly, even when realizing a lot of other people have also grown their wings and started flying. Maybe he can challenge someone to a race! Or see how far out he can fly! Or do flips or barrel-rolls or--

...You may also, on occasion, find him making flower chains or chatting with birds up in very high places. Like rooftops, or the tops of trees. Or chatting with birds while wearing flower chains?]

[There's someone else in the sky with Florian today! Vash is not wearing his red coat. He instead is wearing a dark green windbreaker and brown slacks that go well with his large green wings. Also, his hair has been allowed to grow long and shaggy, so today it's pulled back into a pony tail instead of up in it's spiky manner.

He smiles when he sees Florian fly past. Then an idea strikes him for a chance to show off a little to anyone else on the ground who may be watching them.]

Hey! You're pretty fast on those wings of yours! Feeling up to a race?

[Florian spins around at the voice, sizing up his challenger (he's tall! he's green! he's got long hair!) and offering a big grin in reply.]

Okay! We'll see who's the fastest!

[He does a flip as he says this.]

Alright then! Shall we race to the edge of the village? [He points towards the farther end that they're at.] Last one there smells like rotten eggs?

Alright, I'll definitely be a fresh egg then! Let's go, let's go~ [Aand on the count of three or something...!!]

[goldenglasses]

Okay! On the count of three! Ready! One... two... go! [And Vash zooms off! Yes, it's cheating, he just doesn't care!]

[positivelycharged]

Ah-- [But he said it was the count of three, not two!! Ah well, racing to catch up. He'll definitely beat you, you cheater!!!

...Though really in his excitement he's not all that bothered by the cheating.]

[Vash races on ahead, he had planned to be silly and let the kid win, but something pushes him on ahead. Kipinn just wants to win.]

[Double Kipinn means double the need for speed! Florian strains to catch up, putting all his energy into pushing himself forward. Come on wings, don't fail him now...!]

[Vash turns mid-flight with a devilish grin on his face. Sending a blast of wind back at Florian.]

[Whoa where'd the extra wind come from--he starts doing somersaults in the air as he's blown back by the surprise blast, frantically attempting to flap his wings in an attempt to slow himself down.

...And once he's finally got things under control, he tries doing the same himself. Throwing wind behind him for an extra boost!!! wait does that count as the same]

[It could very well work that way! It may give him an extra boost, but it does nothing to slow Vash down!] Come on, slowpoke! Keep up!

I'll catch you-!!!

[And he does manage to put on enough of a boost of speed to almost catch up, despite that earlier setback. Almost...there...!]

Day 1? (No possession for little Sophie!)

[...There's a kid in her backyard. He's sitting in Ques' tree. And he's got flowers in his hair. This is kind of weird.]

Who're you?

Day 1!

[Oh, is that a person down there? He looks down at her, giving a smile and a wave, accidentally dislodging one of the birds as he does. Oops.]

Hi, I'm Florian! What about you?

[...That's a lot of birds.]

I'm Sophie.

That's Ques' tree.

[Obviously he knows who Ques is, right?]

Ques' tree? Who's Ques? Is that a person?

[Obviously not...!]

Ques is Fen's bird.

[There may or may not be a large amount of "Duh" in her tone. Sophie, be polite.]

Ooh I see. So he's got a whole tree? Like a bird mansion!

[Does that even make sense? Oh well. He flips over, now hanging by his legs from the tree branch, and waves his arms cheerfully.]

Queessss are you heeeerreee? Hellooo~!

[WHOA that is cool. She's going to need to try that! (Somewhere, her guardians are screaming.)

But later. First she needs to help this guy find Ques. She takes in a huge lungful of air, and:]

QUES! QUEEES!

[Together they can make all the responsible adults in Luceti start screaming in horror. First, though! Is Ques coming is he is he? Florian takes a deep breath aaaaand...]

QUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeee--[let's see how long he can hold out before putting on that s!]

[Partway through that gigantic yell, Florian is going to be interrupted by a loud squawk. A moment later, a five-foot bird will hop out of the surrounding forest and give him the stink-eye. And just what do you think you're doing in his tree, mister?

Sophie, for her part, doesn't notice. Instead, she smiles and toddles on over.]

Hi Ques!

[positivelycharged]

[Sadly, that stink-eye is hard to recognize when he's still hanging upside-down. Wow he's starting to get dizzy...]

...Hi Ques!

[Florian attempts to wave at the bird, then tries to swing himself back up. Swing, swing, swing--and he would have totally failed if he didn't have gigantic wings to blow himself back upright.]

[Ques would be hopping closer, except he's a bit distracted by Sophie patting him. So, well, have a sound that's sort of like "wark" and a few ruffled feathers.]

Come see him.

[Never mind that Florian can see him perfectly fine from the tree--she means come meet him.]

[He hops down off the branch, slowing his descent with a gust of air, and cheerfully approaches the bird.]

Nice to meet you, Ques!

[Reaching out a hand....]
