Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

[Firo fights the urge to march over and punch the guy, burning building or not, and races around the corner. After a few minutes of fumbling, he returns with a full bucket in each hand. Of course, since he's running he winds up spilling about half the water before he even gets there. What's left he hurls at the flames--and if some happens to splash on Vegeta, then oh well.]

You should be more civil to somebody who's tryin' to help you, you know.

[Though that's hardly put a dent into the flames, so it's debatable how much he really is helping.]

[misterbrief]

[It's ok, a lot of people have the urge to punch him no matter what state he's in, possessed or not. It's just natural to feel that way.]

Watch where you're throwing that! [Firo does manage to get him a little wet, but he'll get over it pretty quickly. You'll have to pardon his extra grumpiness though, he's upset that he just started his own house on fire.] I didn't exactly ask for your help now did I?

[Ok Vegeta, now is not the time to argue.] Listen, go fill those buckets again. I've got an idea.

[foundafamily]

Yeah, 'cause you seem to be handlin' this really well on your own.

[Firo doesn't realize that the guy is handling it well, actually, due to his inability to sense what he's doing to keep the fire from spreading.

He swallows his frustration long enough to listen when Vegeta announces the plan.]

Better be a good one...

[But he doesn't hesitate to do as Vegeta tells him; even if he doesn't know the guy, he's been pretty well trained by his Family to follow orders. He returns, carrying the full buckets more carefully this time, and looks expectantly at Vegeta.]

[misterbrief]

[Honestly Vegeta hasn't figured out how he keeps setting things on fire, so he's going to go ahead and assume anything he does is doing it. But what if it's neutralized?]

This is what you're going to do. I can't touch this house without it setting ablaze. So we're going to use that water to put out any fire that I create in addition to giving it a little more power. Understand? [He looks over, analyzing on where to aim some powerful ki-wind gusts. Who knew he'd make use of that again.]

What I need you to do is just throw that water up in the air and I'll take care of the rest. Now get ready.

[foundafamily]

[He doesn't really understand, but he nods anyway. Explaining would take too long--Firo knows he doesn't have the best head on his shoulders--and he understands his task well enough.]

Just... into the air? ...If you think that'll work.

[He readjusts his grip on the buckets, getting ready to throw them when Vegeta indicates that it's time.]

Ready.

[misterbrief]

[He sets himself back, ready to go. Teamwork, right?

He nods at Firo, and sets his eyes on his target.] Now.

[foundafamily]

[As soon as the word's out of Vegeta's mouth, Firo flings the buckets into the air so the water spills out of them.

Instinctively, he steps back as he watches to see what Vegeta does.]

[misterbrief]

[There's enough time for a grin to cross his face when his hands move in an almost invisible blur, hitting certain points in the air which generate the same ki-air bursts he was using earlier. Except now they're hitting the water and directing it into the base of the flames on the house with a good amount of force. That'll manage to put out the fire, and he has to sit down and rest after all that. He's covered in burns as it is from earlier.

Firo and Vegeta earned the achievement "Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Fi- Oh Wait"!]

[Firo can do nothing but hang back and watch the show--and he's definitely watching closely. His jaw nearly drops as the flames die out and he wonders what the heck he just watched.]

Holy--

[He rubs his eyes to make sure he's not in a dream of hallucinating.]

How the hell did you do all that!?

[misterbrief]

[He glances up from his sitting position, too tired at this point to yell really.] It's ki, an energy inside every living being. That's not even a good representation of what it can do. What you saw now was only a billionth of the power I have.

[He's got an arrogant tone to his voice, but overall it's really said matter-of-fact. Vegeta is currently just relieved that his house isn't going to burn down.]

Ki... Never heard of it before.

[Just another one of the many weird things in other people's worlds, he supposes. If he hadn't seen someone employing it, he would have accused this guy of lying.

He is somewhat skeptical, though, abut Vegeta's last statement. Something that impressive can't be a mere one billionth of someone's power; Firo can hardly visualize a fraction so small! Heedless of the fact that Vegeta is clearly exhausted, Firo asks incredulously:]

Only one billionth? So what's the best you can do?

[misterbrief]

[His stomach growls, which he tries to gracefully ignore by grinning as he answers the question at hand.]

Had I wanted to I could annihilate this entire planet if it weren't for that blasted barrier. [He picks himself up off the ground, dusting himself off.] Believe it or not you've got ki too, but just because you have it doesn't mean you have the ability to use it. And if I were any judge I'd say you have hardly any power at all. Unless you're suppressing it. [ARE YOU HIDING SOMETHING FROM HIM FIRO?]

[Firo would be concerned by the claim that this guy could destroy a planet, but he's far too distracted by what he perceives as an insult. He kicks the buckets out of his way as he steps towards Vegeta.]

Hey! Watch it, pal, just 'cause I can't do weird stuff like you doesn't mean I'm weak!

[Though Vegeta's judgement is correct; Firo has absolutely no ability to use ki.]

[misterbrief]

[If he trains hard enough maybe one day he can! If Videl can do it...and she's just a simple human.]

You barely hauled those buckets over here without losing half the liquid in them. You expect me to believe that?

[foundafamily]

[He growls, frustrated that he can't dispute that fact.]

That's not me, that's-that's gravity. The way I carry buckets has nothin' to do with how I fight!

[misterbrief]

Hmf. Gravity, huh? Sounds like another excuse from another loser. [He totally doesn't believe Firo at all. Besides, he kinda looks like a stick...]

[foundafamily]

[As far as insults go, "loser" isn't that bad. Normally he'd pretend to shrug it off and then bait the guy into starting a fight, but Firo has no patience for that today.

He stomps forward until he's directly in front of Vegeta. It doesn't have the intimidating effect intended, because, yes, Firo is a stick.]

You take that back!

[Yell at the musclebound guy who can control forces you don't even understand; that will definitely end well.]

[misterbrief]

Give me one good reason why I should do something like that. [Vegeta, Firo just helped you put your house out so it didn't burn down, jessus.]

[foundafamily]

[He growls and folds his arms over his chest.]

Or I'll make you.

[He means the threat earnestly, but it probably has all the effect of a chihuahua barking fiercely at a German Shepherd.]

[misterbrief]

[Cue a good laugh out of the Prince.] You? Make me? Go ahead and try it!

[He might even let Firo have a free punch right to his face. It would be entertaining to see how hard this kid can punch.]

[foundafamily]

[This is a bad decision. Firo realizes that in one of the quiet corners of his mind, but it doesn't stop him.]

Fine, I will!

[With no more ceremony, he punches, aiming straight at Vegeta's nose.

Firo's a hard hitter even accounting for his lack of size, but, well... He's only human. Vegeta's probably taken many worse hits before, if he lets this punch hit at all.]

[misterbrief]

[He lets it connect, right square in his nose- and well, his nose might of shifted to the side with Firo's punch. It might actually hurt Firo's hand more than it'll hurt Vegeta's face.

He doesn't flinch, he just looks at him with a very straight stone face.]

I thought you said you were going to hit me.

[foundafamily]

[Mystified by the lack of pain Vegeta's showing, Firo stumbles back and stares. The impact is unusually painful on his hand, and he grits his teeth as he shakes it to get rid of the stinging feeling.]

...Damn it. I did hit you! How'd you not feel that?

[misterbrief]

[Well, he did help him put his house out. Firo is merely defending his honor and pride; honestly he's probably not that much of a punk, as much as Vegeta would like to address him as thus, which he'll still probably do. He also gets that a lot of beings just aren't acquainted with the Saiyan race, especially here. Just a stupid kid throwing a punch at someone he really doesn't understand.

These are the thoughts running through his head while he decides exactly how hard he's going to hit Firo.]

Why don't you tell me? [Vegeta's hand flies out to attempt to grab him by the shoulder as he takes his knee to try to connect it solidly with Firo's stomach, hard enough that it'll knock the wind out of him and possibly send him flying back a few feet. No broken bones or cracked ribs or anything like that.]

Don't be; it was inevitable. XD

[In all fairness, Firo is kind of a punk. His overreaction was pushed by Eferin's influence, but even without that aggravating force he would've done something to pay Vegeta back for his "rudeness." It just would have been more subtle.

He stumbles backwards a few paces, fighting the urge to hold the area where he was hit. It hurts like hell, and it shows in how he struggles to catch his breath and how he doesn't come any closer to Vegeta.

Once he has a moment to recover, he glares.]

Christ-! That's how you treat somebody who helped you save your house?
