Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

What's so funny!? [No way, she was laughing at him! He reaches back and gets more sand off of his back and tries to smear it all over her face this time, that'll teach her to laugh!]

[She pulls back, out of the way this time and keeps laughing.]

It...this! This is all so ridiculous! I...I haven't laughed in days! And then...snerk...this!

[misterbrief]

[It was kind of ridiculous, wasn't it. He supposes...it was kind of funny. He tries to fight it but he can't help but crack a smile too, and lets out probably the first genuine laugh he's had since he even got to Luceti.]

It's not over yet! [He's going to throw that mucky sand at her now, dodge this!]

[windandrain]

OH!!!

[She spins artfully, laughing all the while and managing to avoid getting it in her face. But it still splats against her stomach.

Her retaliatory strike is a lobbed ball of water, called out of the atmosphere with a simple twitch of her fingers. It's only water, but it's kind of gelatinous...]

[misterbrief]

[He cackles gleefully at the successful hit, and holy crap where did that come fro-

It splats all over him covering him in the 'water', leaving him holding his arms out and looking down in shock as it slid off him. Man he already got enough of this inside of Buu...gross! But, MORE AMMO.

He starts flinging whatever he can get off of himself, his arms a blur and he fires the stuff as fast as he can back at her.]

[windandrain]

[Just as planned! The goopy liquid flies at her and...spirals around her, orbiting back at Vegeta! Water flung at a water god? Don't be silly!]

[misterbrief]

[Oh he should have expected this. He's only got enough time to let out a cry with a look of shock until the globules hit him with a gross thwack and he's once again covered in the stuff. He flies right over to her and gives her a look, arms akimbo. He is expecting her to wash him off. Does not want goop.]

[windandrain]

[Well, if he wants that...she'll give it. A gurgling burst of water just...falls on him!]

[misterbrief]

[At least he was ready for that. He gets washed off and his hair officially is the most droopy of all now. But that doesn't stop him from giving her the most epic of linefaces. The MOST epic.]

[windandrain]

[And then the wind kicks up and he gets blowdried!]

[misterbrief]

[He can never win with her, can he. It just won't ever happen. He'll get her back one day, when she least expects it.

But now he's dry and that makes him a little happier, at the very least. He sighs, he's too old and doesn't have time anymore for all this silliness.

He's also doing a bad job of hiding that tiny smile.]

[windandrain]

[She stops too, smiling faintly.]

Thank you. I...really needed that.

[misterbrief]

[He really doesn't know what to say, because once again he's getting a thank you and galaxy knows why anyone thanks him for anything. He looks grumpily to the side, feeling all awkward now because he doesn't normally deal with these kinds of situations outside his own family. He doesn't mind helping them when he feels like it's needed but-

He guesses this is what it feels like to help someone else, and it feels sort of nice. a;lskdfja;slkfj he doesn't like this feeling, make it go away. Or make it worse?]

[windandrain]

[Saori shrugs and smiles that mysterious little smile she does so often. And then starts making an enormous waterspout out in the ocean, to break up the awkward tension there.]

Give that a try, Vegeta.

[misterbrief]

[He looks over to see his new target, thankful for the break. So he smirks right back at Saori, determined to dissipate that spout of hers.]

Heh, simple. [He raises both hands and concentrates another fire blast right at the spout...except the blast doesn't quite get there. In fact it falls embarrassingly short of its target.]

[windandrain]

Fire doesn't travel quite so well, Vegeta. You have to focus it. Those large blasts will fizzle.

[misterbrief]

[Looking embarrassed, he tries again- only with a more focused blast rather than something large like he's used to throwing. This one makes it at least, but it doesn't knock the spout out completely. It wasn't quite powerful enough.]

[He's nothing short of frustrated that he's not getting it quite yet, but he knows with a little work he will- but someone's watching and that makes it sightly humiliating. That also shows on his face.]

[windandrain]

A start. Why don't you overcharge it right as it reaches the target?

[misterbrief]

Fine. [He tries one more time, doing exactly what she'd suggested but-

His attempt flops completely and the blast doesn't even get halfway to the target. Failure Vegeta, failure.]

Argh, why couldn't this stupid magic not worked when I was setting my house on fire, that would have been nice!

[windandrain]

It is working. Fire has it's limits, you know.

[misterbrief]

Argh, then what good is it. [He knows it's him and not the magic and that irritates him. But he'll work more on it later in private.]

I think I've got enough of a handle on it to keep from destroying everything in the village. If you don't mind I've still got to go check up on Bulla and Bulma. [Because there's going to be a shirt on fire incident when he gets back, thanks to his fashion loving daughter who will then burn her nice shirt.]
