Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

[ She nods, moving closer to begin healing the injuries on her arm with the warm light. It felt so nice, to be able to serve others like this. It was her true purpose. ]

That's a very good idea. Though I wish everyone would take better care of themselves. We might have these new gifts, but we're still only mortal.

[inventings]

( Okay. This is better, the injury on her arm going away and no longer bothering her like it had a few seconds ago. Now her limb will be less of a burden in the future when she goes back to exploring.

The comment has her feeling vaguely guilty. Of course some people would find reasons to worry at an event like this. And with her state right now, for good reason. )

I suppose that very reason is why we're acting like this. You only have one life to live, to experience things. Why not spend the time we have with these abilities doing the most we can make of it?

[ducked]

[ She smiles at her comment, almost wishing she could feel the same way. Maybe that was why she had been called to this role, to protect those who couldn't always protect themselves.

She wonders if this is how Mytho feels. ]

Just take care to not do anything too reckless. It would be a tragedy to lose your life so soon after learning your gifts.

[inventings]

I'll do my best to not get harmed when I'm flying about or having fun, I promise. ( She's certainly going to do her best to not let that happen. That would be a drag to her day. Trying to fly and ending up becoming the biggest fly on a nature-made swatter. No thanks you.

She's about to fly off, head back to the skies, the blue that was beckoning to her. Then she stops. A nagging voice has her look back at Princess Tutu with a look on her face. Its not an easy one to discern but if one had to make a guess it would be... pity? Sympathy? )

Are you planning to do this the whole time? While we're all running about and getting ourselves into a mess?

[ducked]

[ She nods, a contented smile on her lips. It was her calling, and she could imagine doing nothing else. But she didn't begrudge it. Not this fulfilling responsibility. ]

I do. But do not worry for my sake. As long as I can help others, I will be content.

[inventings]

Then I suppose you wouldn't mind if I... ( She pauses for a few seconds. Part to look shy in asking and part because she is trying to figure out how to word this. ) ...I tried to accompany you for a bit?

I mean. I've had enough fun in my opinion for now. It seems rather lonely to do all this help on your own and I think you'll be enjoyable company for the rest of the day. Where are you planning to head of now?

[ducked]

Really? You would be willing to keep me company?

[ Hmm...she liked that idea. She liked it a lot. She could keep an eye on her new friend, and she wouldn't have to go about on her own for awhile. ]

I would like that. [ She glances over her shoulder. ] There are many in the forests exploring their powers. I intend to head deeper in there.

[inventings]

I offer, did I not? ( It'll be a change of pace from what she's been doing all day and she was interested to see what Princess Tutu could do. Out of everyone at the moment, Addie thinks she has the least amount of worrying injuries on her person. ) We girls should stick together. Especially when I know others are pulling pranks and being... A tad reckless than should be allowed.

( Not that she was any better with how reckless she was mere minutes ago. ) The forest is a good place to start. I've been hearing how some people with that fire spirit, Eferan or such, are practicing their powers there.

It may seem imperious of me to say but I do believe that has a potential for trouble.

[ducked]

Oh, goodness! [ Using their fire powers in a forest? That seemed like a recipe for disaster. Tutu nods in haste. ] I believe you are right. We should get moving before anyone gets hurt.

[inventings]

{ It's nice to know that she's right about something. No matter how perilous her correction maybe. At least she has enough tact and manners to know better than to smile and looks appropriately serious. }

I saw a few people when flying over here. { She makes a vague gesture to where she was from. She thinks she can go back there if needed. } Would you like me to lead you there and make sure they are fine?
