What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

[Jade will of course appear out of nowhere just after they start to hold hands. He greets them with a particularly deceptive variety of friendly smile, his eyes briefly flittering towards their locked hands.]

Ah, if it isn't Tear and Freyjadour! Here to pick up some courting rituals from other worlds? I'm sure that will give your love life just the spice it needs!

[How bizarre. There are other questions she has of Yoshiwara's future, but it occurs to her that perhaps asking what appears to be a teenage boy about it isn't exactly good sense. Deflection is good.]

I suppose a great many things have changed in the future. I understand the caste system was abolished well over a century ago.

One thing you shouldn't mess with, Max, is Jack's sock arrangement. The one time I wear mismatched socks before Abel, the one time and he goes all fashionista on me. Unbelievable, right?

[Eley can sense that sadness too... It reminds him of Tsuzuki, during their previous conversation. He's starting to realise just how many people here must have lost those they were fond of. How many more would leave and get left behind, knowing they've been forgotten?]

Hmm... Do you consider it a good thing that you were able to experience that here? As for my people... I cannot say. There are those who still look up to me, I know that. However, I have never felt that they would look to me as a parent. Perhaps I am wrong.

There are others on the ground who still turn to me as well, though their numbers are dwindling.

I am sure you would. I do not often let outsiders into Agkelos but... if I had the option, I might be willing to allow a few from here into the kingdom. I already sense they would mean no harm.

Your nations are divided by elements then? There are many Spirits in my world, each of which may be attributed to such elements. However our worshippers are not confined to any one continent. Then again, interest in our kind has been dwindling for some time now.

[He points to the large continent arcing the top-left corner of the map.]

Bravura in particular seems to be treading towards the path of war.

[The Spirit listens intently to the explanation. While he already seems to have a strong drive to learn, this World Sharing class does seem to be holding his interest. He had already learned from others during the Fair, so to have the opportunity to learn more elsewhere seemed like a great thing to pursue.

I agree. I have already learned a great deal from others, whether about human rituals and emotions, war, or simply the flora and fauna of their planet. I would... be interested in continuing this process, if I am able.

I also have an instrument I am trying to learn. Perhaps I could master it with help from your teachers.

I still know little about Earth. In my world, it is a supposedly legendary world, a twin of my own, that nobody knows how to access. It has been sealed for many years now.

Your 'day to day life' may very well be completely different to those of my people and especially of myself. Perhaps you could tell me more about it?

[He raises his eyes and looks at Jack, inclining his head again.]

And yes. My name is Japan. It is unfortunate I was unaware of this event or I could have created a booth for my country as well. England-san would be proud of what you both have presented.

"Given how I do not know what they will be like, I have no idea what to expect. This makes this divination puzzling indeed."

Which makes studying it all the more fascinating, I suppose - not to mention how large it seems in comparison to others.

[And she nods to answer the other question, half gesturing to the booth behind her.] Indeed.

[It's given in the tone that says that he does not see, at all, but also does not intend to really get into it while the newcomer is occupied elsewhere. At a loss for what else to do, he pours the man a mug of tea, passing it toward him.]

Oh, now you're making it personal. One comment about your unreasonable standards in the realm of dancing and we have to get into the socks. [Jack sits back in his chair aggressively with the pronouncement, looking searchingly at Max for backup.] Max, you've seen my wardrobe. My point just is, if I can tell something looks off, clothing-wise, shouldn't that be a huge red flag to everyone else?

( Wait what's he doing. This is the question Addie has in her head the most when he makes his move. She stares at the chip for a few seconds before it clicks into place and wow does she feel like a ditz. More than usual for not seeing this.

Now that he puts it that way, it makes sense to Addie. Riddles and puzzles always happen to do that to a person when the answer is given and you have the time to think how that's possible. )

I see now! Oh goodness. ( Her cheeks become flushed in good natured bemusement. ) Do I feel foolish with how I did not think this out. Now that's a clever one, Monsieur Astucieux. I must applaud the thought you must have put into these. And the rest seeing this is what the booth is all about. Is it not difficult for you to think up so many challenging puzzles and riddles?

[Jack drops the voice and the affect - or that affect, at least - looking at Max with deliberate curiosity.]

Pepper's part of the New York contingent, though, and I think the New York subway was approved for play a few years ago. Provided all moves fall within the Manchester Criteria, of course.

[She steps back a few paces and tosses the ball. It's not a good throw at all, just an easy overhand toss. Shouldn't be too hard to hit, and it's clear she has no idea what she's doing.]

Uh, 2011 or so. I might have missed out a few islands here and there and some of the borders are kind of... wonky. [Hand drawing borders is hard, okay?

He just stares for a moment when the man introduces himself, frowning slightly.]

[Max looks back, raising an eyebrow.]

Different worlds remember? I'm pretty sure New York doesn't even have a child's league where I'm from. But Manchester Criteria does sound reasonable. You'll have to fill me in on how they work the Knightsbridge rules into it sometime.

[Max can't help but chuckle softly because Jack is right, Helios is bright red. He bumps his shoulder gently, giving him a soft smile that he hopes conveys that he means no harm. If Helios asked, he'd stop in a second.]

Hey! I am not a pervert! My mind is clean and pure as new fallen snow. [The smile he actually gives is about as impure as is possible.]

I think we should get a proper game together sometime. It'd be fun. Might have to introduce rules to take into account super speed or whatever.

I dunno. I never learned the foxtrot although I like to believe I can manage a decent waltz.
