What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

Hmm. [Well now that Zuko's brought it up, that could be a concern, couldn't it? Zatanna pauses for dramatic affect, looking very much like she's contemplating the question.]

I think you're safe. Could be hard to say. Do things often fall onto your head from random places?

"Oh, okay. That sounds easy enough." And made her wonder just how many people had gotten taken by the ruse. She lifts up her wrist, showing a simple beaded bracelet. It really isn't all that valuable, but Zatanna's not exactly dripping in gold.

"So what happens if I don't guess right?" Said as she took off the bracelet and held it out to him.

Well, not everyone is. My dad goes--went by his real name. [Until Fate took him over. Zatanna pauses for a moment before she catches herself.] Of course, not everyone really advertises it either.

[That last one gets her to raise an eyebrow.] Teleportation? Seriously, can every magician here do that but me? [Okay, so she's exaggerating. But Helios makes two, and there are some things that would be really cool to learn.] Illusions can be used in combat if you do it the right way. Copies of an attacker can really confuse your opponent.

And yeah, it does--although I probably haven't been spending as much of that free time studying as I should.

Yeah. So was I.

[The coins are all standard government-issued, no tricks or embellishments. Purely educational. The cups, on the other hand, are your average beverage glasses with the slightly flared sides.]

Adding another coin would be not only easy, but against the rules as well. There must be another way, don't you think?

We'll both probably just secretly think we're the right time, and the other one is wrong. [She grins.]

"...Plastic man." All Asami knew about plastic was that it was very strange and useful in making batteries. "Why would anyone call themselves that?"

She wasn't prepared to point out how not intimidating 'black canary' was.

"I hope you're right," she shrugged. "I'm going to keep trying either way."

I wish you luck. [Her smile is wider, now.] It looks like quite a challenge. I wonder how long they plan to keep the gates up.

Indeed. It's nice to meet you, Makie. My name is Raine Sage. You've been spending time in the tea shop, haven't you?

"Time will only tell." If things had reached such an extreme that people thought the only solution was to lock the spirit up - caution was still warranted. And patience. "I'd still like to have more information on the incident that led to it... but that tends to be what's in short supply."

It just went through a period of devastation and renewal fairly recently. ... Well, recently in terms of when I was last there, anyway. It truly is a beautiful city when it's cleaned up.

So you do collect them! I knew it. You did strike me as a type of person who would not wish to forget a particularly interesting puzzle.

{ The puzzles where he comes from must be plentiful if he records them all in a tome of all things. The closest thing she thinks that can be similar was Jack's habit of copying down lessons and teachings from different religions. Even then it was a pretty tiny book. Not a self-described 'tome' as the man said } How did you ever get into this curious hobby of yours? If I am not being rude in asking this question.

Because I don't think it would be simple as you suddenly deciding that solving crosswords was too dull.

Well, at least they have those resources to help them afford all that rebuilding over and over if it's really such a common thing.

Not quite. They had to borrow quite a bit, this last time.

Well, let's hope the bank doesn't repossess the whole town.

... They're not in danger of that, either. It just takes time to rebuild, so in this case they had to rely on outside help to do so. Once the Desians were out of that area, it was easier for them to do so.

I feel like I've heard "Desians" before, but I can't quite place it, Sensei.

It shouldn't be too hard to get in touch with one of the spirits. At least I don't think so.

Eferin likes the woods, which is a little weird considering its fire, but you should find a nice clearing somewhere in there and try to make contact.

[And hopefully not burn the woods down in the process.]

I think they keep them up all the time. That's why they aren't here on the grounds themselves, and you have to take Appa to get there.

[Beast peers with curiosity into the ball, completely falling for the effects caused by the unicorn in front of him. He hasn't a clue of what it all means, but she seems to understand it... so once she gives him an answer, his ears perk up and he straightens himself to give himself a more dignified posture.]

P-prove... myself?

[Beast jumps slightly at the sudden appearance of the little... is that a dragon? He thinks he remembers Helios saying he had a dragon, but this has fur. Should he speak to it? What should he do? Cautiously, he continues gazing down at the creature, not backed up too far away from it as he answers Helios's question.]

[Hinata can tell that the other girl is dealing with something during that time that she'd rather not discuss, so she decided that a change in subject was probably in order.]
