What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

Really? [Then again, it’s not really what Zatanna thinks of as reality warping—that’s Lord of Chaos or Order level where she’s from.] Well, part of it is illusion—it’s not actually a snake. It just looks and feels like one. But the material that makes the gun is altered too, so the shape feels right. Then it wraps around them and forms the restraint.

Not to mention you just called teleporting easy. Matter alteration requires powerful bloodlines, but folding the fabric of space and time is simple if you know the right symbols? [Just because she can’t do it doesn’t mean she doesn’t know what it is. There are always principles involved.]

Yeah, definitely. Then again, maybe that’s not a bad thing in every case. [She could name names.]

Sure. I never mind putting on a show. [Provided the person asks nicely, anyway.] And in this case they’re spells. Tricks are more like stage magic and sleight of hand stuff, although I can do those too.

“Is that what happened?” She asked without realizing Suki was thinking that very thing; Zatanna just remembered that Suki mentioned she’d fought in a war to protect her home and her friends. “Did the Avatar disappear or something?”

Ikki? That's Aang's... future relation of some sort, right?

[Thinking of the little monk as a grandfather still throws him off.]

Yeah, I know her.

[Asami steps back and waits expectantly, her hands folded behind her back. And then...nothing happens. And Pascal looks rather silly like that, frankly. So after a moment...]

Ah...I don't think it's working?

[His fur only instinctively raises as the chirping startles him. After that, eyeing the creature with much uncertainty, he slowly reaches for another gugosi.

At the last second he also snatches one of those cakes he wants to try, pulling both morsels towards himself as if worried Maggir will come up and snatch them away. He's watching you closely you know...]

But... how... how can I...? [He stares down at himself. Twilight may not know anything about his past, but it's clear what is on his mind here.]

So I guess you're what they would call a true magician.

I... I guess... yes. His... he called himself "Hyt".

Asami looked thoughtful. "Does that mean the other heroes are people that everyone would recognize otherwise?"

Famous people who decided to be superheroes. Interesting.

But... is that all it is? Maybe... there's something more to it. What you do in your world. That sort of thing. I mean, people can do it on their own, right? So what about it makes it so people can do that?

I'll have to look into them, then. I've met at least one person who was from three years farther along than me, so it's not a stretch to think there might be more from farther. And if their presence brings history books... [ He giggles. ] There's no harm in learning a bit of the future if you doubt you'll be around to see it, is there?

I'm not too great with the details...

Learning how to do it in my own world was hard enough. Hearing about others puts everything in a whole new perspective, ans it's a little hard to deal with.

Ah, I see now! It's almost like you're bending a person's sense so that they're experiencing something other than what's there. That's quite ingenious really. Mm and yes that's right. Matter alteration requires more raw force of the caster than teleportation. Teleportation can use a number of in between methods, like photos of place you wish to go to, or an address or even a business card, all those can help fuel the spell's potency and power.

But even being in the League doesn’t necessarily mean you know the secret identity of everyone else. There’s this one guy, Captain Marvel? He’s really a ten year old kid whose powers transform him in an adult. No one had a clue for the longest time.“

Guess so. At least in the sense that I work with the real stuff. I’m still an amateur at it though.

"That's good at least." Peace and balance restored? Definitely positives. "So what happened to him?" Since disappearing for a century wasn't exactly a small thing. How he vanished, how he came back--it's definitely something Zatanna's interested in hearing about.

Yeah, I really need to get some lessons on that. So when do we start? [Because seriously, she wants to learn how to make the impossible easy. Not to mention that being able to teleport would be really useful on top of being very cool.]

Mine doesn't have the magic, either. Some of the technology I recognize, but...we didn't have a lot of it, at home. In my hometown, I mean. It existed, but...none of us had the money for it.
