When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

Maybe you can show me a few other tricks... or spells, or whatever they're called... at some point.

[He kind of wishes he could see how the magic her father knows compares to some of the firebending he's familiar with.]

Sure. I never mind putting on a show. [Provided the person asks nicely, anyway.] And in this case they’re spells. Tricks are more like stage magic and sleight of hand stuff, although I can do those too.

So I guess you're what they would call a true magician.

Guess so. At least in the sense that I work with the real stuff. I’m still an amateur at it though.

What will you be able to do when you become a master? Create dragons out of thin air?

Uh, no. Mythological creatures are a bit beyond even my potential skills. [But there's a lot that she could feasibly do, and Zatanna taps a finger against her lips as she tries to think of the really good ones.] Astral projection, possessions, flying--not just levitating, but actual flight--mystical trances to connect with deeper powers; there's a lot of potential uses for magic if you know the right spells and how to channel the energy.

And I'm guessing that, like a lot of abilities, it's not something that can be taught to just anyone, right?

[You always had to be born with the ability, it seemed.]

Well, yes and no. You do have to have an affinity for it. I mean, it's not impossible if you don't, but it's incredibly difficult, and it'd take a lot of power to make it work. [Like when Fate took over Wally.] But if you do have that affinity, then the sky's the limit--along with how much energy the caster possesses, of course.

[Huh.]

Could you teach it if you wanted to?

I don’t know. Maybe. I mean, I had it taught to me. [But in her case a lot of it had been natural, between her own affinity and growing up surrounded by magic her entire life.] You interested in learning?

Maybe...

It would be interesting if I could learn it, but I should probably keep working on mastering firebending before I start anything else.

Well, if you’re interested, the spirits are supposed to be able to teach anyone. [Zatanna shrugs a shoulder; she’s yet to seek them out herself, although she probably should. Professional courtesy, or something like that.] You know, the ones that possessed everyone a couple of weeks ago?

Yeah, I know. I think it's good that option is here.

[He shrugs his shoulders with a little smile.]

Don't think they could teach me that kind of magic, though.

Yeah, definitely. I probably need to actually start contacting them too.

[She laughs a little though, shaking her head.] Nope, sorry. From what I could tell, their stuff is elemental. And from what I could sense, it actually isn't magic--at least not the same way it is in my world.

[Zuko frowns.]

Closer to bending, then. I thought it might be.

But you could still learn to control elements you couldn't before. And how to heal.

[So it's not all bad news, right?]

Yeah... I've been thinking of trying out some of that.

I don't want to abandon my firebending training, either. I feel like I still have a long way to go with that.

Well, nobody said you had to. It's not like we don't have time to kill around here.

I guess.

Maybe I'll talk to Aang about it. [See what he thinks he should do.]

You mean the Avatar. [Who Zatanna's heard about multiple times today alone.] So what, that's like seeking spiritual guidance or something?

...Sort of?

I mean, he can talk to spirits, but he's not a spirit himself. Then again, I don't know if he can do that here at all.

Well, technically everyone can here. Eferin, Kipinn, Nala—all spirits, remember? [Although he probably means a broader spectrum, Zatanna does feel the pressing need to point that out.] But you don’t have to be a spirit to give that kind of guidance. It sounds like he’s an expert in it even though he’s human. […] He is human, right?

Yeah he's human, and that's not what I meant.

[He looks a little embarrassed, not having made that connection.]

He just gives good advice sometimes, is all.

[Even if he's had a habit of not listening to it.]
